Beautiful area! Lovely views. The house was comfortable and spacious — we were a family of four and used just two rooms, but there was space for many more! The kitchen was well stocked for any need. The living/common area had lots of space and a great library with local maps and guide books as well as fiction for all ages. The beds were comfy and extra blankets were available. The shower was great! The views were perfect and good driving distance to Volcan Poas and La Paz Wildlife Refuge. My daughter loved the farm animals and my dad loved sitting on the balcony looking for wildlife.
Our prebooked breakfast didn’t arrive, but Tomas felt very badly and offered us not only a refund but also to pay for a local breakfast for our family. It was simply a miscommunication, so definitely not a reflection of the service or staff!

It was close to attractions we wanted to see. There was plenty of room for us 9. I never met staff as doors were open and we could leave the payment in the room. But the owner was very cooperative answering my Whatsapp messages.

Breakfast end location work great great view
The email that described how to locate. The property was sent after we traveled and we had a lot of trouble finding the property. Also, the showerhead hot water did not work. Cold showers weren’t fun otherwise great property.

Casa Volcano is in a lovely location. It is an nice representation of life in Costa Rica on a working farm. Our host, Tomas, was very warm and helpful in every way. We had all of the amenities that we needed and the location was just right for our needs.
The hot water for the showers was not as hot as we would have liked, but it was adequate. We were initially surprised by the access to the home, and were not sure we were in the right place. It did work for us for the night we needed, and Tomas was great.

I enjoyed my stay here, stunning views, animals to interact with, lovely onsite staff, the house really felt like a home, l would encourage anyone who doesn't have a car to bring food with you as not much is available & it is an 8km return walk to supermarkets.
Be clear on the amount you are paying including the added taxes as l got a bit of an unwelcome suprise!

The host was nice and the beds were fairly comfortable. The location for visiting La Paz Waterfall Garden was great. Good for a night... but wouldn't stay for 2!
It was very cold and there was no easy heat source like even a space heater. They lit a fire but it was short lived..and since we had to keep the windows open all night...it was miserably damp and cold. I asked for extra blankets but kind of got put off by the host. I eventually found some and so we all slept a bit better for it. There were zero dish towels available and no paper towels either. No wash cloths or even hand towels.
And finally...Dinner REALLY does cost over $1000 us dollars....so of course we did not order it.

Wonderful hospitality and really stunning views from the terrace overlooking Poas Volcano. The whole area is spectacular and we wished we could have stayed longer.

Huge house with great view. Comfy beds. The best was the great hosts! He helped us out so much with arranging transportation and planning the next day. We even got to feed the animals with him and he prepared nice breakfast. Amazing stay for little money.

The best place we stayed in 6 weeks in Costa Rica. We had the whole place to ourselves, incredible value for money. Tomás was a brilliant host, he gave us loads of ideas for activities in the area and even arranged for us to visit a friend's coffee plantation. The accomodation is one aspect of a community project that Tomás runs and it was great to be able to support this in a small way by staying with him.

Loved the views, as it describes, it truly is panoramic! Very spectacular views all around the property. The host, Tomas was exceptional in all aspects; with such warmth, we truly felt at home. He went above and beyond in ensuring our stay was comfortable and even ensured our onwards journey is taken care of, in terms of providing key insights and tips of where to eat, etc for the best experience for our very first Costa Rica trip.

It was one of the most pleasant place of the trip. The owner is so kind and helpful, you should definitely have a discussion with him. Best place to have a comfy night !

We loved the location in the mountains with a great view and away from the humidity and bugs. It felt like an authentic Costa Rican experience as the house was until recently used as a local family home, so it wasn’t built just for tourists. The kitchen was equipped with everything needed to cook meals. The owner Tomas was very helpful and interesting to hear him talk about giving back to the community and trying to live more simple and preserve the environment.

Thomas, the host, was wonderful, so kind, warm and helpfull. he helped us in so many ways, with recommendations for the trip, restaurants and all we needed. the house is beautiful, comfortable, wonderful view, great location, near la paz waterfulls and poas. i whole heartly recommend to this place and host. 10 of 10.

The host really made my trip! He was incredibly kind and helpful in helping me find a ride to La Paz and La Fortuna. I had fun learning to make tortillas with a political refugee from Nicaragua. The views around the house were beautiful, and the house was cozy and spacious. There were lots of interesting books on the shelf.
There wasn't much hot water, and the bathroom downstairs wasn't completely clean. Bedding was a bit sparse, but I guess that's expected for the bargain price.

Tomas was a spectacular and attentive host. The house is cozy but spacious and has everything you could need and more, including a wood stove/fireplace, full kitchen, and an amazing view. The location is excellent, and Tomas will be sure to help fill your day with lots of exciting activities in the area. For the personal attention and amenities, you can't beat the price, and according to the host, all the proceeds go to educating the next generation of local environmental stewards. How awesome! We loved our say, and would highly recommend Casa Volcano.
