Overall, it was a great experience! I’m very happy I stayed at Maher house!

My stay at Maher house was an amazing experience. The location is walking distance from Borobudur, a literal 1O minutes. And, in the same area there is a whole street of stores and places to buy food. Maher house is located in the village, which is great because you get to enjoy village life and maybe interact with the friendly locals. Plus, there’s a lot of cool chickens walking around. Maher house was very clean, and it had a very peaceful atmosphere. The breakfast in the morning was made fresh and it was delicious! Yusuf and his wife were great hosts, their main objective is for their guests to be comfortable. Thanks again!

I can’t think of anything I didn’t like, maybe the fact that I only stayed 2 nights.

Fabulous stay. Great hosts. Room was immaculate. Air Con unit is new and clean. Lots of hot water in shower. Comfortable large bed. New, immaculate hot water-cold water machine to make drinks in the communal area Communal area was very clean. Quiet road only 5 min walk away from the temple. Lovely family who were helpful and speak English. Laundry was arranges for us and they can sort out any trips you might want. So lovely to dry out after we had spent 6 days in a more traditional room and the monsoon rains meant everything was damp. This was lovely to come to ans feel clean again. We had the downstairs room which also had a small seating area/porch ans front door - lovely to have a breeze and to enjoy sun and shade and watch street life. Lovely quiet neighbourhood. Would definitely recommend this place and spending time here rather than the city - we had 2 nights but wished we had relaxed more ans had longer.

The only small comment would be that western breakfast was not as good as other places we have stayed.

Friendly owners great location

Large room, very friendly owners. The owners went above and beyond helping us to call the hospital when we needed one after we had to do a last minute vaccination.

Bathroom was a bit mouldy but it was clean.

Lovely place at Borobudur

The place is very comfortable and clean. They have helped us getting the tickets to go to the top of the temple, w/o them it would have been possible. It is only 15 minutes walk from the entrance of the temple. We had lunch at the hotel after visiting Borobudur and it was delicious. I have been there with my wife and my three kids and it was perfect for a family. Strongly recommend it

Extremely helpful and hospitable. Very nice guest house.

It is a great value for the money. Yussuf and his wife went beyond what I expected. Extremely nice and helpful. Whatever we needed Yussuf arranged. Drivers where we needed to go.

Comfy homestay near Borobudur Temple

We got an IDR 284K promo at Booking.com when we reserved here and it's worth for the stay. The location is perfect, we can reach Borobudur temple by just about 15 minutes walk. The room is large, clean and comfortable, equipped with air con and TV. The hot shower in the bathroom worked very well. Soap and shampoo are prepared, but it is better if you bring your own bath stuffs such as toothbrush and toothpaste. The owner also prepared some instant drinks like Ovaltine, coffee, and tea for us. I highly recommend this homestay for those who plan to visit Borobudur.

Great location for a quiet guesthouse

Very good location, walking distance from Candi Borobudur Quiet house, comfy beds, kind staff.

Poor breakfast, only coffee/tea, one egg and 2 small slices of bread. The kids asked for more but it was limited, we had to complete by ourselves. No soap, no shampoo, few power sockets. Dark room.

Excellent room, lovely family

Fantastic location on a quiet street, short walk to Borobodur and many nearby shops and restaurants. Breakfast was very tasty and there is a cold water dispenser downstairs.

Nice, homy homestay

Although it is a homestay, but the room is very clean, nice looking, and well maintained.

Due to I am a nonsmoking person, I feel unconvenient when I enter the dining room, because smoking is allowed not only in the outside that is near with the dining room but also in the dining room. If I open my room door, I can feel smoke although it's just a little bit. The breakfast is just so so for me (fried rice).

Great support helping us pull together a local trip at the last minute. They provided a great itinerary and driver who was friendly, flexible and a great driver.

Great value stay close to Borobudur

Superb location, very helpful and friendly staff. The complementary Indonesian breakfast was really nice. The bed was comfy.

One large duvet and not 2 single ones on the bed.. But it was okay, it was often the default we found.

the room was large and pretty confortable, and the house well located. the hosts are nice and available to help you organise your trips or activities, even last minute.

Biggest point for us is that the room didn’t really have any window so not the most cosy. also, the description of the room mentioned a balcony which there was not (at least not private but indeed a shared one on the floor). Activities offered are sometimes a bit more expensive vs other places so alway good to compare.

Perfect location to be close to Borobudur and in a relaxed street, away from traffic. The family owners are super friendly and accommodating in all ways. Breakfast was served whenever we wished and was delicious! The host was very honest with prices for day trips around the area and airport transfer. Great information provided. Thanks Maher house for accommodating our family.

Exceptional

Mr Yusuf and his familly welcomed us with an exceptionnal hospitality. The room was clean and spacious, beds were confortables and typical indonesian breakfast cooked by Yusuf'wife was delicious. Beside the accommodation, Yusuf gave us useful advices and manage a tour according to our wishes with lots of flexibility. He's a trust person and amazing host who made our journey a fantastic souvenir. I recommend 1000% this place.
