Maureen was so lovely and kind. A great host. The room was quiet, comfortable, clean, had what we needed and a lovely outlook into the well kept garden. Location was excellent for travelling into the city, 25 min walk and bus stop on the road made it easy to travel by bus also at night. Parking also included and Maureen kindly let us leave the car there on our departure day to enable us to go into the city again.

Only reason it didn’t get a 10 was the bathroom shower was not very good.

Maureen was a wonderful hostess. The house was immaculately clean, the bed was very comfortable, and it was exceptional value for money.

There wasn’t anything we disliked about our stay. The walk into town took around 30mins to walk but we didn’t mind that. There is also a bus stop right outside.

This B&B is run by a lovely elderly lady in her own home. There are only two guest rooms. We had the chance to see both because we were accidentally given the wrong key at first. One room has two single beds, is spacious, nicely decorated, and overlooks the garden. The other has a double bed, faces the street, and is much smaller. In my opinion, the room with the two single beds is definitely the better option. The host is incredibly kind and welcoming, and it was a pleasure chatting with her. She also kindly allowed us to store our bicycles inside the house, which we really appreciated. The location is excellent - you can easily reach the city centre by bike or by bus, and the bus stop is just a short walk away. The room included basic toiletries, some snacks, and a hairdryer. Breakfast is served buffet-style and is tasty, with a good selection of cereal, muesli, fresh fruit, juices, cheese, cold cuts, bread, and packaged biscuits. You can also ask the host to prepare eggs or slice a fresh tomato for you.

Unfortunately, cleanliness was an issue. The room is carpeted, and the carpet is visibly worn, stained, and has an unpleasant smell in some areas. The bed linen and towels were clean but heavily stained, likely because they are very old and the stains no longer come out in the wash. The dishes, both in the room and at breakfast, were not properly cleaned. It was also difficult to find a clean plate at breakfast, as many of them still had dried food residue on them. The room was also very cold during our stay in April, so I can only imagine how chilly it might be during the winter months. There were also no UK plug adapters available, so if you're travelling from continental Europe, make sure to bring your own, as your regular European plugs won't fit the sockets.
