I wanted to love this place and wax poetic like a lot of other reviewers, but they seem to be resting upon the laurels of past 5 star reviews. the place looks exactly like the photos and is has large sized bedrooms. The ambiance and decor is lovely, however, it was hot! Two drawbacks 1) the control thermostat - this is problematic -it was stuffy and hot in the early afternoon and I could not really enjoy the place and 2) unclean floors and the bathroom. The bothersome piece was the floors had not been cleaned. The kitchen floor and rug was not clean - although the tile can hide a multitude of sins, it was clear to me that there were stains on the floor. Also, the downstairs powder room was not clean - floor or the toilet. for the hefty cleaning fee, I expected to have the place receive more than clean linens. The upstairs bathroom floor was not freshly mopped either. So Disappointing. Because it was so uncomfortable sleeping - because I could not have the temp to my preferred coolness, I left a day early to another location so I could sleep well. It's quiet if you want that, but I would not stay here again. Oh the property managment offered to come in the next morning and clean -but I had a few calls and work to do in the morning before I left to sight see , so I did not take that option - I just wore my inside sandals.

The rental does not allow for adjusting the thermostat below 74 degrees. Sleeping was pretty miserable because it was so hot. The mattresses also seem very old and were uncomfortable so those definitely need replaced. Also, you are given one wash cloth per person. We would have appreciated at least two for our four night stay!

We loved this place and it was the perfect location for us. Great coffee places and restaurants were near by. Only 8 minutes from Candler Hospital where are family member had surgery so we had easy access to them.

This property was extremely clean and nicely furnished. We loved its character and location. We were within walking distance of beautiful homes and squares, as well as a Kroger for our grocery needs. The home had everything else we could have needed. The only suggestion I would make is different fitted sheets for the beds- they kept slipping off. Also, while we welcomed the nice cool air of the AC, it got a little cold at night with no way of adjusting the temperature . I would bring warmer pajamas if I were to visit again. All in all, it was one of the nicest places my family has ever stayed. We would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Savannah who wants to be able to explore the lovely neighborhoods and places of interest without having to drive and pay to park every time- and also have all the comforts of home.

We absolutely loved this place, it was close to everything we went to, the courtyard was relaxing and a great place to have a meal. Overall I was very impressed and wouldn’t mind coming to stay there again!

I would come back here without hesitation. 1/2 a block from a liquor store and 1.5 blocks from krogers…. FYI, if you are traveling with family…the beds are squeaky and sound travels on the hard wood and high ceilings. The HVAC system worked fine and in the spring the night time setting will go as low as 68. In the summer they limit the low temp to 20 degrees below ambient….it seems reasonable but i can imagine some people might be turned off by that, for us it was no problem

We loved our time at Writer's Repose in Savannah. Close to everything - made us feel like locals. Having outdoor space was a real plus as Spring was arriving all around us.

Writers Repose was the perfect home away from home during our stay in Savannah. The neighborhood was beautiful and peaceful, conveniently located near a stop for the free DOT bus. Will definitely recommend to others!

We spent two weeks and during this time the neighbors visited us and we enjoyed many evenings talking and sharing bottles of wine. The neighborhood was quiet and the house was immaculate. We had rented a car but but didn't need it. We walked every place we went the city is so lovely. We give this house and neighborhood five plus stars. Only one negative neighborhood comment. The local squirrel would get very romantically involved with the gargol outside my window. Stated my day with a good laugh, thanks squirrel! Highly recommend this property!

I can’t believe I never reviewed this place. I’m so sorry for the delay but I stayed here for 11 days while they brought my daughter across the country for college and it was absolutely perfect. The bedrooms were beautiful and comfortable. House is adorable. The yard was very nice to have. In the kitchen and everything we needed.5highly recommend!

You cannot control the temperature in this house. The owner has a lock on the control and controls it remotely based on what they think it should be. Management did not respond to calls

We really enjoyed our time at this property. Most importantly, the beds are actually comfortable, the linens are really nice, and they give you lots of pillows. I feel that a comfortable place to sleep is the most important thing about a rental, and this one fits the bill in that regard. The second thing we really liked was the outdoor patio space. It is very private and cute. It lights up at night which gives it lots of charm. The place was very clean when we arrived and we felt comfortable because of it. I appreciated that all of the floors are hardwood/tile. No yucky carpet! That alone makes a place feel so much cleaner. The place is very cute. They have done a nice job renovating the space to be modern and comfortable. It is nicely furnished with most of the comforts of home. The location is nice, being in the historic district and just a short walk to Forsyth park, with convenient access to Kroger, The Dollar Tree, a liquor store, and a cute coffee/tea/pastry shop. Getting to tours, downtown, and the river does require walking, but it's not too bad. 15 minutes or so gets one to most places. We did rent a car one day to go and see Tybee, Bonaventure Cemetery and Wormsloe. There are lots of stairs in the home, and a couple of spots on the floor that are a bit of a tripping hazard. One spot in particular, at the very top of the stairs, is a little treacherous. The flooring changes levels a few inches before the start of the stairs. When we first encountered it, we were worried. However, once we knew it was there, we were very cautious and reached out for the railing before heading down the stairs. My husband is vision-impaired, so I was super concerned he might fall. But we were just very, very cautious, and everything was okay. Most able-bodied people would be fine with it. But I think the property might not be appropriate for the elderly, or for anyone with small children. We weren't able to adjust the a/c even the tiniest bit. The temp is comfortable during the day, but hot at night (at least in our opinions). Even with the ceiling fans, we were hot and sweaty at night, which is a shame since the beds are so very nice. We coped, and started getting used to it by the end of our stay. I would still rent the place in spite of this. I definitely recommend the property.

We enjoyed this beautiful property. Very centrally located, near Forsyth Park. Beds were super comfortable!

The house was super clean and had anything you need for a few days. The beds were very comfy and the outside area was a nice little plus. Certain things are around a 15 min walk which isn’t a huge deal. Parking was easy for us and our stay. Be watchful of your kids with the steps lol all in all we would stay again lovely property and affordable !

Fabulous in every way if you don’t mind stairs. The bedrooms and washer/dryer are upstairs. The location is perfect. I’ve never slept in a more comfortable bed.
