About this house rental
Situated in Folly Beach, this lovely house for $981 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. Rest, relax and refresh at our newly renovated home located at 920 East Ashley (AKA “Sandy Bottoms”), where you can "get away from it all" and take everyone with you! This is a spacious vacation home, which is a rare find at Folly. You can have the best of both worlds! This home offers ample space to accommodate large gatherings but is cozy enough for those who wish to capture some quiet time. Our vacation home is only 200 steps to the beach and 9 short blocks to Center street. Whether you prefer relaxing at the beach, surfing at "The Washout" (which is just five blocks away), or are drawn to the hustle and bustle of Center Street, at days end, you can retire to the peace and tranquility of your vacation oasis. Our home has a generously sized great room with a large flat-screen SMART TV, 5 ample sized bedrooms with new queen-sized memory foam mattresses with all new fresh bedding (May 2020). Our home also has 4 full bathrooms. Our lower level is a dedicated 1300 SQF game room, 50 inch SMART TV, Poker table, Ping pong table, Air hockey, Foosball and a Kitchenette with the 4th full bathroom on this floor. If the weather doesn’t cooperate….no worries…you’ll still have fun hanging out on our updated, 700-square foot, fan cooled veranda. Enjoy your morning cup of coffee or evening glass of wine on one of the two wooden decks that overlook a beautifully landscaped yard. On-site parking areas provide convenient parking for at least 5 vehicles. ***PLEASE NOTE Upon booking, the individual that books the property will be asked to provide a copy of their driver's license, as well as, the first and last names, and ages of ALL guests staying in our home during the rental period. Summer rentals are Saturday to Saturday only! June 1 - November 30 is Hurricane Season. We do not offer weather related refunds. If a state mandated evacuation of Folly Beach is ordered by the State of South Carolina, we will be happy to reschedule your vacation.

3 related families met on Folly Isl for family wedding. Perfect accomodations for all of us, from hanging out + visiting to getting ready for wedding when it was nice to have plenty of baths! Spacious, sunny house really is 200 steps from little-used area of beautiful beach and weather was spectacular, real bonus for end of Oct! Outside shower is wonderful for cleaning sand off people, chairs, toys. Lots of bedrms meant everyone had personal space, and there was plenty of community space, too. Big kitchen table for family meals + games, great screened porch for relaxed conversation, nice game area downstairs, altho we spent most time outside. Kitchen is well-equipped + 2 fridges are nice to hold beverages -- just like having a garage fridge at home. Easy parking, good location, great communication + activity suggestions from host.
Our family is unanimous that we would definitely rent there again. 👍👍

Sandy Bottoms was the perfect house for our girls beach weekend! Spacious with plenty of beds, a large kitchen and dining room, and a comfy living room for us all to hang out in! The location was great, only a mile from the main street of Folly and exactly 200 steps to the beach (we counted!). Would highly recommend staying here

On arrival, the house was very clean and the owners left a bottle of wine for us. The house had plenty of space to spread out for our trip. The mattresses were comfortable. House is only a short walk to the beach. The game room in the basement is phenomenal with plenty to keep young children busy, while they’re getting a break from the sun. It’s got a foosball table, air hockey table, poker table, ping pong table and TV. Really a great vacation house. Owners we’re responsive and easy to get a hold of. We would stay here again.

The owners made the check in process simple and the house was above and beyond what we hoped! The property is just 50 feet from Public beach access and we couldn’t be more pleased with our trip.

Had a good experience and stay, I just didn’t realize there weren’t TVs in the bedrooms. And I’m the type of person that HAS to have a tv at night. However, it’s close proximity to the beach, shops and restaurants, was a huge plus.

Air was out. First off they don’t tell you until you check in that you can’t control the air below 72 and the owner gets a notification if you do. Sad to say the air was out anyway. The bottom floor smelled musky, and you had to go outside to get to the downstairs. Overall the location and stay was decent. The owner responded by sending an HVAC crew out to put portable units in and a cleaning crew to try and get the smell from downstairs. The cleaning crew said they just pumped 500 gallons of water from the basement due to flooding from Ian. When I called the owner a few days before to see if there were any after effects from Ian they assured me there were no issues. I won’t be back.

The only thing that was very annoying was Folley Beach parking. Was terrible! Not the owners of the house fault but seemed like Folley Beach as a community didn't want visitors.

Spent a long weekend at the rental with eight friends and had an outstanding experience. The location is extremely close to the beach and had awesome spaces (namely, the porch, living room and game room) that were conducive to large groups. The hosts were also very responsive to any questions we had. Would highly recommend!

We met up with our adult children who are spread out through the U.S. Charleston is convenient for flying into and then head to Folly. The home was very clean and had everything you could want in the kitchen. It is excellent for the convenience of walking to the beach access area. We had a great stay with great weather. I highly recommend Sandy Bottoms for your next beach vacation.

We held a family reunion at Sandy Bottoms and could not have been happier with the house. The bedrooms were big, the screened in porch was luxurious, the game room was awesome for the kids while the adults loved the kitchen and the ample living room space. With 4 bathrooms there was never a wait for the potty. The house was a 3 minute walk to the beach which was lovely and the outdoor shower was an added bonus. We appreciated the laundry room and the towels provided. Would love to stay there again!

Wonderful time with our family
Overall, a perfect home for a beach vacation. Not oceanfront, but close! We crossed two streets to reach the ocean. Neither were too busy. Large spacious living areas and kitchen for a big group (We had 13!), three bathrooms on the main floor, plenty of beds in their 5 bedroom home! The above ground basement was another wonderful gathering place where we had access to many table games and a small kitchen and bath as well. Lots of room to roam about and still feel very comfortable. Some things could've been better tended to prior to our arrival- three of our four bathrooms had mildew on the shower liners but this was taken care of by the next day after we notified the owners. Tim, Cindy, Sue were easy to reach and very pleasant to work with when we had a question. Many things were labeled too which definitely made our lives (and theirs, I'm sure) much easier! Rat traps were set under kitchen sink and at basement kitchen sink which was a bit unnerving, but we never did see any of those varmints. Thank goodness!! If we ever get to Folly Beach again we'd definitely look up this home.

While the garbage was taken out each night, we still had to clean up rat droppings in the kitchen and living room every morning during our stay. This appears to be an ongoing problem since there are rat traps under the kitchen sink. The owners were notified by us after that first morning. We received a very brief reply that an exterminator would be out. While the problem was addressed it appears the solution has not been aggressive enough in the past as evidenced by the traps or appropriate. We were disappointed the owner was not apologetic although we had to deal with rat droppings each day and an actual appearance of the rat under the living room couch on our last morning. The rat problem and the owner's lack of empathy for our situation in his home does not allow us to recommend this house.

We had the best time celebrating our daughter’s graduation. We had a range of family members with us & we all had a blast with the game room & hanging out at the beach.
