About this cabin rental
Estes Park License # 6116. Welcome to a very private updated mountain cabin on the rivers edge (located on private .8 acre). Hear the roar of the river and watch water splash on the boulders. Enjoy fishing for wild trout on 182 feet of private Big Thompson River running through the property. This is an older cabin with a lot of character with a portion built in the 1930's. We are continually upgrading the cabin. Every one who has stayed at the cabin loves its charm. Relax under large shaded Pine Trees on a manicured lawn while viewing the stream and tree covered mountains. Elk and other wildlife will frequently be roaming in the yard in the evening or early morning. Bring the camera and camcorder to take pictures of the Elk. Easy access to Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park. Shopping and restaurants are available as downtown Estes Park is less than 1/2 mile. Several shops and restaurants are within walking distance. The South entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park is within one mile. We have updated the bathrooms like you see on "Home Makeover". The old cabin has some of its charm left when constructed in about 1940 plus the upgrades we have made over the years. The location is absolutely beautiful. The house worked perfectly for our needs. Completely stocked with everything you could needs. Owners were great communicators.

House was clean, River was relaxing and Elk hung out around the yard. We had an amazing time and recommend anyone to stay here!

Comfortable home with all necessary amenities. Peaceful setting along the river with plenty of yard space to give a feel of seclusion. Little piece of heaven in town. IF I had to provide something to improve upon, it would be an upgrade to at least one King bed. We did experience mule deer visits on multiple days and one bull elk walked thru the yard bugling. Overall it was a great stay and I'd consider renting again on our next visit.

After staying here we don't want to stay anywhere else in Estes. We had our own private house on the river for the week, what more could we ask for? On our first night there we had elk, turkeys, and deer in the yard!

This cabin is in a great location and very clean has everything you need. Wildlife is abundant. Had a great visit to Estes Park again. The owner Wendell check-in with us upon arrival to make sure everything was good! We will definitely recommend this Cabin and stay here again. Jeralyn

My husband and I stayed here many times over the years. This August week I brought my son and his family. It was a great peaceful home away from home! Clean. Well equipped. Washer and dryer, dishwasher, TVs—all we needed! So close to the Park! Treat yourself to this wonderful rental!!!

The location of this cabin is perfect. River is right outside the window. Frozen over and covered in some! It was beautiful. We saw turkeys and rabbit in the yard. Convenient to downtown and Rocky Mountain National Park. Also had the neighbors come and shovel and plow the driveway and sidewalks after it snowed. Property owner called to check on us after we got a lot of snow, which was great. Thank you for having us Wendell.

This is the ultimate spot for a family trip to Estes! Great location, wonderful kitchen, plenty of space. You cannot beat the views or the daily elk sightings as they stroll the property. Wonderful/accommodating host. This is our 2nd trip and we’ll be back for me fun next year!

This is an amazing property, with a private feel but still close to downtown Estes and RMNP. My kids played in the creek and the large yard, and every day we saw either elk or deer meandering through the yard and creek. The house was very clean and comfortable. No complaints, we would definitely stay here again!

Location! Location! Location! Very convenient to downtown Estes Park & RMNP. Right on river where large animals strolled into spacious yard. We were there 3 days and had mule deer and elk grazing several times. Furniture was sturdy and comfy.

We were thoroughly impressed with our stay at this property! The home was very clean, check in was easy as can be, and the location along the water couldn't be better. We appreciated the variety of outdoor seating, soft bath towels, & laundry baskets in each room (something you don't always get at a VRBO). The fact that we could walk half a mile to a coffee shop or drive 5 minutes to RMNP made the location ideal for our group. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Very restful. Great location to town. Elk daily to watch and one bull elk that woke us up bugling at the fence line one morning at 6 am. . The sounds of the rushing river are hypnotic.

Beautiful, clean, updated home right on the river. Relaxed and enjoyed the sounds of the river flowing by. The living room with all of the large windows provided the perfect chance to relax and enjoy the nature around us. Even had a big black bear stroll by on our first night! The home was absolutely perfect for us and the pictures of the house do not do it justice - it looks so much more updated than the pictures represent. Wendell came on site our last day as we were packing up and was the nicest man. We are grateful that he shared his wonderful home with us and he was so accommodating. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit.

My family had such a wonderful time at the River’s Edge property! It was a great location, close to town and getting to the park. All of the basic amenities were provided so we did not have to pack or buy a lot of the basics. Having the on-site washer and dryer was awesome so we did not have a mountain of laundry when we got home. We loved having our own private river access for my husband and sons to fly fish whenever they wanted and it was beautiful. This place was perfect for our family, cannot wait to go back!

Gorgeous Home, Great Location
This place is so dreamy!!!! We loved being right by the river and having privacy. The place is large enough for all of us. Three adults and three kids. The kitchen looks out onto the river and the home is super cozy and spacious. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back again.

I cannot say enough about the hospitality we received from Mr. Walker. His place was so charming and located in the perfect place! Right off the river, but far enough from the highway - we felt secluded the whole time! The cabin is very close to downtown plus the entry to RMNP. It’s also very close to a much less busy grocery store! Beds were very comfortable, views were amazing, everything was well stocked, and Mr. Walker was quick to respond to all of our questions. We saw several elk, a marmot, and a bear during our visit. The bear was across the river and street :) We highly recommend this cabin and we will definitely stay again in the future! We booked this cabin kind of on a whim when we decided less than a month out we wanted to go to Estes Park and it was only available all summer for the week we wanted to go. After reading all the glowing reviews and seeing the photos of the river in the backyard we decided to give it a try. Of course we were hoping to see elk, but my husband and I figured it would be a long shot. Well, the day we arrived and pulled in the driveway there were 2 elk just laying in the yard! They came back the next 2 days and the last day we were there we had deer in the yard. It honestly was the highlight of our trip. We mainly came to Estes Park for the national park which we thoroughly enjoyed, but we actually saw the wildlife closer in person while saying at the cabin. I was a little hesitant booking because we tend to stay in homes/condo a little more upscale on vacation, but the cabin was very clean and comfortable and the views, river and wildlife made it all worth it. The location was just perfect as well, it was super easy to access the park or go into the city of Estes, we even walked to dinner one evening. We would definitely stay here again.

This was an amazing property the house was beautiful, clean, and had everything we needed to cook with, clean, anything you could think of that you would use as I you were at your own home. It was amazing we would definitely go back!
