About this house rental
Situated in Hanmer Springs, this lovely house for $157 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. This holiday home in Hanmer Springs is the perfect place to relax in the thermal pools, check out boutique shops and restaurants, bike and walk or run the numerous trails or get amongst the thrill-seeking activities. The Hanmer Tree House sits on 0.6450 ha in a unique location, surrounded by forest reserve. This property has the space to picnic under trees on the grass or to let the kids and pets run free! (Please note that it is not fully fenced). You are welcome to pop a tent up in the summer. It is quiet and private yet only a 10 minute stroll into the centre of town. There is an awesome stainless/cedar outdoor bath on the deck, with views to the mountains and the amazing night sky. The house also has a loft area with a single mattress that kids love to play or sleep in. While it sleeps 7, it is best suited to a maximum of 5 adults as there are only 2 bedrooms and the living area is quite small. There are awesome walking and mountain biking tracks just over the fence (we have one adult mountain bike and some kids' bikes that you are free to use). There are board games, a plastic toddler playground and a hammock. Special conditions: Smoking allowed outside only Pets are most welcome but please keep outside of house unless you can promise no damage to internal furnishings and no dog hair left behind. There is a medium sized dog kennel (no run). Loft not recommended for pre-schoolers due to the height. House must be left as found - ie, guests are expected to clean and tidy on departure. NO PARTIES - Zero tolerance for parties, any wilful damage from parties will result in Police involvement and potential charges. Extras: Linen (included); NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house and do the dishes before you leave (ie, leave it as you found it); You will also need to wash and dry the linen used before your 11 am departure (washing machine, powder and dryer provided). Alternatively you can pay byo linen/sleeping bags or pay extra to hire linen which will be dropped off and collected so that you don't need to wash and dry it.

We stayed one night here and enjoyed it. Although the previous guests didn’t leave it very clean. The location amongst the trees is wonderful. A nice place. Good communication from the owner too.

This place was so quiet and private. It had a lovely feel to it and it was so comfortable and clean. We loved the deep long outdoor bath, the water stayed hot for a long time. We slept so soundly after this.
We also really loved the easy close access, out the front door, to the hanmer walking tracks.

Situated right near one of the tracks and away from the road, it was quiet, self-contained and a very pleasant stay. Good outdoor area and nicely arranged. No problems and a very enjoyable stay. Thank you.

Was a little bit hard to find but we got there eventually, if we didn’t think outside the box however we wouldn’t have got in for a while because in the email on how to find the place and the key there was no number for the lockbox I had to dig through emails to eventually find it. Other than that was a lovely place to stay.

A nice house down a private road. Enjoyed sitting and eating out on the deck. Kitchen had what we needed for cooking meals. The place seems to need a thorough cleaning and freshening up. There were not regular towels and wash cloths available, only some very thin polyester ones. We had to locate the right sheets to make the bed, then wash and dry both them and towels before leaving, and guests are also responsible for cleaning. We knew this ahead of time, but it was challenging to get things dry. Most places ask you only to start the wash. We were unclear about their cleaning process. Instructions said the guests should clean and their person would come check every few weeks. This didn’t inspire confidence about cleanliness so we cleaned the dishes and bathroom both before and after using them. Also, guests are supposed to turn on the gas when arriving and off when leaving. We discovered the water was also turned off and turned it in. We also needed to take our trash with us and find a place in town to dispose of it. It’s a good place but just awkward to use and needs some tending. Our total cost for the one night seemed too much for the cleaning we had to do.

Overall is wonderful, microwave was broken, you just have to wash all the linens and towels at the end of the stay, so you have to wake up early otherwise you will be rushing. But as i said overall, it was an amazing experience with my family, the kids enyoyed very much.

The Treehouse is in a great location, very quiet and private amongst the trees. With plenty of bird life.
Easy access to the Majuba walking and mountain bike tracks.
It's a bit of a walk to the centre of Hanmer, but not worth getting the car out for.
We didn't use the outdoor bath, as we were there only 2 nights. But it looked inviting after walking the tracks around Hanmer.
Will be staying there again in the new year.

Great wee cabin to stay in. Nothing luxurious inside, although modern, yet equipped with all you could need. I spent more time outside than inside. My only regret is not booking this place for longe. I intend to return here for another stay in future.
Just ensure you bring your insect repellent and fly spray!

Loved this little hideaway. Bird song and peaceful bliss - absolutely the best. Great log burner and a hot tub for an intimate stay. Comfortable bed (tick). A proper home - you could stay here for a long holiday and be perfectly happy. Thanks team.

What a great spot.we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.no chance of getting cold on a winters night with that log burner. Very handy to the walking tracks and not far to the pools.restuarants etc.thanks jacinda.we will be back. Chris and family

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The unit was clean and tidy with modern appliances and everything that we needed. The hot tub was a real treat on the chilly day ;-) The location is just perfect!
