The hotel was very clean and the rooms were very spacious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was basic but delicious. Location was perfect.
Everything was great! My only comment is that they should add couple of TV channels in English language.

Location good, room we had last two nights clean and spacious, good storage, nice bathroom. Outside room but soundproof large window that could open, pleasant view.. next to Villa Borghese park. Only 15 minutes on foot to Spanish Steps. Metro access nearby. Staff very friendly and helpful. Decent breakfast.
Initially disappointed as first room assigned was an inside disabled room, awkward and crowded,, bathroom difficult and nowhere to put stuff. We insisted on moving, glad we did as second room was great. Price reasonable. Would rate exceptional if not for first night.
6.0
The staff is friendly, the location is convenient, and the room space is big.
The floor in the shower is covered with black mould between mosaic tiles.
The carpet in the room has a large dirty stain from the flooding.
Junior Suite 101 is under the streetlight, so you must shut the windows completely and wake up in total darkness.
Entrance is complicated to find and cumbersome to enter - the card doesn't always work after dozens of attempts.
There is not enough fresh air in the HVAC - you wake up with a headache from excessive CO2.
Breakfast is too simple, the toaster doesn't work, and there are no windows in the breakfast room.
The room is too close to reception and has almost no sound insulation.
No slippers and a cold bathroom floor.

Un gioiello nel centro di Roma con colazione favolosa

Struttura molto carina in via Veneto, a due passi da Villa Borghese. Posizione strategica per girare a piedi tutto il centro.
Camera curata e pulita e personale molto gentile.
Nel complesso consiglio!
Per la colazione si può fare di più.

The location is great. The bed was comfortable.
The floor was dirty.
Staff was unwilling to accommodate a last-minute cancelation request due to unforseen circumstances (a death in the family which affected our itinerary), one day after the "free cancelation" window closed. That decision to not allow cancelation and refund was at the property's sole discretion.

Like that the room is spacious and new compared to the standard rooms in Rome at the same rating. The owner and staff were really nice all the time. Take note, to give the specific time of arrival as the reception close after 6pm. We were a bit delayed and lucky we managed to call the owner to hand us our keys. She also recommended us a good restaurant around the corner. In Rome there are plenty of tourist traps and what was recommended was not one. Would choose the hotel once again if we return. Breakfast was simple if you are not a big eater. Good for us to pick up a fruit or a coffee to start the day.
The rooms were new, but the design in the bathroom had some flaws. The bathroom was always wet because of how one of the pipes were positioned. But small matter, if you can wipe it off with the towels. The water damage on the bathroom furniture is quite visible. The cleanliness of the bathroom can be improved before and during the stay.

Nothing to fault

Practical and well priced. The staff is friendly and helpful. Loved the decor despite the fact that the rooms are quite small.
The room was a bit noisy because of the pub below the hotel.

Location was amazing. A very boutique style hotel that's clean.
Don't expect anything extra, this is a boutique hotel. The breakfast is simple, there was no iron or ironing board. They don't do room service.

- The beds were comfy, room was clean and spacious
- Bathroom was really modern, with walk in shower and lots of toiletries
- Breakfast was really good! Saw a review that it wasn't great, but it was ample and a good selection!
- Really is a great for 2/3 days in Rome
- there's one mirror in the room which is in the bathroom (and steams up after a shower) would be so easy to put a full length mirror in the bedroom, would increase my satisfaction tenfold!
- the hairdryer was a crappy push to start travel one - again, so simple to provide a proper hairdryer
- no kettle in the room, fine for me but think this ruined my Mum's mornings lol - but again, so so simple to do - stay would have been PERFECT if these three things were done

The great hotel. Everything was fine. I recommented.

Great location, nice, elegant neighbourhood, a short walk to the Borghese park, metro (Barberini), the Spanish Steps, with nice cafes and restaurants close by. The room was bright, quiet and comfortable, especially the bed and the pillows - we got one overlooking Via Veneto through a beautiful green, leafy tree (January). The staff members were very helpful, we asked for a few things during our stay (borrowing electric kettle, wine opener and glasses) and they were happy to arrange for that, the room was cleaned on a daily basis.
Bathroom ventilation could be better (humidity and sewage smell), shower design created water spillage. Breakfast could include some fresh items (eggs seemed to have been boiled quite much in advance, no fresh bread or vegetables).

The hotel is in a very good place, close to the center. The stuff was really kind and helpful
Eventhough they said the rooms are soundproofed they are TOTALLY NOT. the walls may be soundproofed but around the door there was a half centimeter gap and we could hear EVERYTHING from outside and from the other rooms. And also somehow they gove us a room with a disable bathroom which was very uncimfortable for people without that kind of problems. It was a very disappointing.

The shire hotel is a little gem located in the historical street of the "dolce Vita " via Veneto.
The attention to detail and the cleanness of the space made me enjoy every second in the room.
thumbs up to the softness of the linen, the mattress, the selection of pillow, and my favorite part - The shower!
Can't wait to be back!!
a special thanks to the staff.. very kind and attentive!

Great staff and rooms were sound proof so no notice from the street.

I had a lovely stay at The Shire Hotel. The staffer I met was helpful, especially since I arrived on the later side and had a bit of trouble finding the hotel while walking from the metro in the dark and in light rain. Over the phone, she guided me to the hotel door and helped me get settled in even at the late hour. The windows clearly had padding to reduce noise from outside, and the breakfast in the morning was complete (fruit, carbs, protein). I loved the location of the hotel - it is in a quieter part of Rome, but still 10-15 mins walking to the Trevi, Spanish Steps, and other famous sights, and it is very close to a beautiful, sprawling city park where I took a wonderful walk the next morning. I wish I had been able to stay more than 1 night!
The shower setup was a bit messy; as I used it, lots of water leaked out onto the floor. The bathroom itself could probably use some touch-ups, as it seemed to be the most worn part of the room. However, there was nothing incredibly worrisome about it, and it overall did not detract from my stay.

The general opinion is good, but we had a problem with JULIA (THE FRONT DESK LADY) she did not have the tools to resolve a problem that they had with their credit card machine . we tried with 3 different credit cards and none of them would go thru, we even called the credit card companies and there was nothing wrong with the credit cards. We needed to resolve the problem by going to an ATM MACHINE and paying cash, that situation cost us over u$s 100. in fees to exchange to euros.- not a pleasant situation rather very uncomfortable since we had such a great time in Rome and this grayed out or stay.
