The minute you drive up to the house you are overwhelmed by the river view that this house has. The house was plenty big and had everything we needed. Watching the bald eagles and ducks and fisherman floating by was so entertaining.

This property is awesome! The location couldn’t be better. Right on the river and every day we wAtched a family of eagles along the river. The house is well stocked and comfortable for 4 adults. Can’t wait to come back. The owners were really responsive. Thanks for an awesome time!!!

We loved our stay at the Bear Den! We spent most of our time on the patio watching the local wildlife, a beaver dragging branches upstream, salmon jumping and eagles soaring above and perched nightly across the river. The view was extraordinary so we dined on the patio every meal. The kitchen is pretty well stocked but was missing a few items such as a vegetable peeler and casserole dishes for heating food.

The house was great for myself and 3 sons-Great location with beautiful view of the river. Communication with Ryan and Robin was very easy and helpful. Will definitely stay again.

Traveled to this area five times, and I must say this has been our favorite property! We only stayed three nights, but wish we had booked much longer. So comfortable and the view is absolutely gorgeous.

Spent a week in this amazing location on the Kenai River. Beautiful clean property with incredible views of the river and lots of wildlife. Used this as base camp for our Kenai adventures and would definitely return.

This was the perfect location for exploring the Kenai peninsula. The house was just as advertised. Met our needs perfectly. The owners provided excellent directions to the house which we are very grateful for as we arrived well after midnight in pouring rain. Very happy that we picked this location for our stay.

This is the first time we’ve stayed in Cooper Landing but won’t be the last. This view is spectacular! Loved sitting by the fire next to the Kenai River every night. The kitchen is well stocked. Bring your binoculars to watch the eagles and mountain goats. The owners, Ryan and Robin are very responsive if you need anything. Definitely recommend and will return!!

We are Alaskans who stay in Cooper Landing several times every year. First time at this property, and will stay again. Strategic location, less road noise than many area properties. River frontage. Clean, functional. Decks and fire pit for outdoor use.

The property was great , the property manager was awesome answered my questions in a timely manner and made sure we were comfortable . We had a great time and would love to go back. Great restaurants close by .. Sunrise Inn baked Halibut was a favorite. The house was just as listed very spacious and comfortable for our party of 4. We visited many towns and the house was conveniently located. We booked a local fishing charter in Coopers Landing and were very pleased with Coopers Landing Fishing Guide services.. would highly recommend this property. We saw Eagles everyday on the river and enjoyed the fire pit by the river and grilled on the deck ..made lots of memories.
Thanks for letting us stay in your home ...

While the check in process was easy and the home was adequate in size and location, the cleanliness was disappointing. The bathrooms looked like the floors had not been swept or wiped. The bath rug in one of the bathrooms was obviously soiled . The beds appeared to be clean sheets but made up in a rush, barely tucked in. The kitchen walls had splattered food and several pots, bowls and cooking utensils were placed in cabinets with dried food on them. The home looked like it needed a good cleaning.
On several days, someone was working with drills and hammers in the garage underneath the house.
It appeared , whoever cleaned the house was in a hurry and did not prepare the home adequately for the incoming guest.

First, I thought wether I should post this or not, and decided that I would want to know the information so I would share it. We rented this property for 4 nights in the middle of July.
We arrived 10 minutes early and waited on the deck while the property was finished being cleaned. It was a beautiful view, so we didn't mind even though he finished a little late.
The location is amazing, and Cooper Landing is amazing - the perfect experience we were looking for and the glacier blue water of the Kenai was incomparable.
The kitchen was very well equipped. Plenty of towels.
My issues came in the cleanliness area. The microwave had food left in it, and finger prints and smudges all on the outside - so I cleaned that when we got there. At one point I pulled out a plate and a brown piece of avocado was on it. The floors were clean, and the counters were clean, but those two things freaked me out.
My biggest issue, however, came in the fact that we were never really alone on the property - which is what you expect when you spend what we did for 4 nights. The property manager was always there - there is even a camper in the driveway. He was super nice, and helpful, but we never felt comfortable that we could enjoy it as a family. We were taking a nap and he was cutting down a tree - he asked if it was ok but I felt super awkward telling him no after he said he had so much work to do. Again, he was really nice, but I really wish we had the space to ourselves.
In short - nice house. No special amenities or anything, but the location is top notch.

My boys were thrilled to be able to fish from this spectacular property day and night. They caught a number of Dolly Varden from the waterfront and a whitefish. We watched eagles everyday - one even caught a salmon. This home has all the amenities of home and was very comfortable. We were able to prepare meals in the kitchen, access streaming services on TV when the boys weren't fishing. An amazing place to stay when exploring the Kenai River. Just a few minutes from groceries, restaurants, ice cream, and the Russian River hike.

Our family had a fabulous time at the Bear Den! We enjoyed the patio, all the kitchen amenities and the beautiful yard right on the river! The beds are comfy and our family of 4 was able to spread out and all enjoy our own space. The location is close to grocery shopping, restaurants (highly recommend Two Brothers) and hiking trails.

Pretty as the pictures!
The location on the Kenai was magical! When the sunlight hits the water, it really is breathtaking!
The house was very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed, but the best places to lounge were on the deck and by the firepit, watching for bald eagles that nest nearby! The location is perfect for those that want to fish and day trip to places like Seward, where we took the glacier/wildlife tour and saw humpbacks, orcas, stellar sea lions, puffins, sea otters, a porpoise and of course the glacier!
Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this property. The main bedroom, kitchen and living area were up-to-date, and comfortable. It was fun watching various people float down the river, and was close to area fishing guides.
Here are some things that others might want to know.
- view of the river from the lower deck is very nice (can't really see anything through the trees from the top deck)
- kitchen had everything we needed
- washing machine was very helpful, but it shook the house when running - very loud
- inside water had a strong, unpleasant odor. we purchased bottle water for drinking and cooking
- there was a camper parked at the back of the house, right outside of the back bedroom. the property manager lives there. he was very friendly but it was odd to have him, and a couple of his friends, there at the same time as us.
- there is road noise, and the property manager cut down a tree on one afternoon while we were there, after asking permission.

We loved the location for day trips to other locations and the home was well taken care of and furnished well. A couple of warm afternoons found us sitting by the River just watching it go by. We needed relaxation and found it in Cooper Landing at the Bears Den. Thanks! We loved it!!!!

Beautiful property
Vrbo description matched the property perfectly. We came at a weird time… a lot of the Cooper Landing places are closed, however, it was so fun going to Seward, Soldotna, and Anchorage for things we needed/stuff to do. We chose the time, so it was nothing on the property. It was still perfect. It is a central location for all the fun places. There are plenty of hiking trails near by - SO many. It is truly a great spot with a view that you can’t capture the real beauty of because it looks much more amazing in person. We are already planning our next trip and we will definitely stay at this property again. There was plenty of space, amenities, and even Netflix to watch in the evening hours. There wasn’t a need for all the stores/restaurants as we made everything back at the den.
Stay here. You will not regret it.
