This is an amazing place, ideal for families and large groups. Nicely isolated yet close to everything, with awesome views, lots of amenities including a great games room. The host is very responsive and replies to any questions immediately. we loved the place.

The location and property are stunning. Everything you would want. However, the home/furnishings are a bit shabby. Broken chairs, overused/collapsed mattresses in several rooms, broken propane fire pit, mish mash of cooking/eating utensils in kitchen which really needs to be re-organized (we were cooking Thanksgiving dinner for 18 so the kitchen was an important consideration for us). It's a maze of a property and could really use a visitors guide: how to find/enter the gym, where to find air mattresses, where to find bedding, which thermostats work for what rooms and so forth, as well as check-out instructions. We had heat issues with a cold front/snow storm and the landlord, while communicative and helpful prior to our visit, was difficult to work with in dealing with our heat issues during our stay and seemed annoyed with us for expecting a response (it was 17 degrees outside). He finally ordered some space heaters to be delivered. The rooms on VRBO that indicate futons do NOT have futons. There are air mattresses if you dig around and find them, but some have holes. We made a list of items that need repair/attention and will send it to the landlord. Like I said - the property is glorious and has so much potential. But it needs some attention to be truly spectacular.

We loved this house! It had such an interesting layout, plenty of room to spread out with a large family. Great central kitchen for gathering. Great views!

For wedding. Don't understand the positive reviews unless it's just taken a bad turn. Reserved online in Jan. Visited in Mar and although it had potential, IT NEEDED WORK (junked up and lots broken.) Despite my concerns, my daughter liked it and trusted that work would be done. Site manager very pleasant/helpful. Visted again in May and was pleasantly surprised to see major drywall repair and roof damage fixed and landscape being cleaned up/planted. Manager so accommodating. Visited in July. Work on property had stopped and weeds growing. Owner now managing and not accommodating at all, no expectation that he would honor anything we had previously been told by the old manager (son) concerning early arrival, late check out, repair, etc. Owner was EXTREMELY rude. Went back to son who lives in another structure on site, and he continued to help us even though he had quit as manager. Just avoided out of state dad/owner. Upon Aug arrival, bride/groom, families, bridal party ran trimmer, pulled weeds, picked up trash. Our dads made repair to lighting, screen doors, fire pit, and filled gaps between flagstone on patio with sand (trip hazard.) Moms bought flowers and planted the dozen empty pots (some growing weeds.) In the long run, wedding was nice but rough getting there. As far as we are concerned, Vrbo owes us for time, effort and money we shouldn't have had to put into the place. Warning-doors falling off/many amenities not working, Shame, has such potential:( Really, Vrbo?!

Trash scattered around dumpster upon arrival. Even if left out by previous guests, cleaning crew should have spotted it. Trash all around property in (non-working) fountains/planters/bushes. Had to ask for entry codes right before check-in. No instructions for amenities - hot tub partially worked, was full of debris. Steam room did not work. Moldy, dried strawberry on stairs inside. No signs that floor was cleaned. Toilet by steam room did not flush - full of urine from previous guests. Ripped screens. Amenities like massage chair in photos no longer at property. Listing suggested more private bathrooms than actual floor plan. Severe water damage in gym. Owner told me they’d send instructions to fix steam room - never did. I paid too much money to troubleshoot your advertised amenities that should work when I check in. Owner asked if we wanted wifi code and firewood - did not mention additional charge - charged me $200 for WiFi usage and firewood. Black lights installed in master bedroom ceiling revealed dirty blankets with questionable stains. Candy wrappers under bed in loft. And that $50 a night WiFi totaling $100 —- could not sustain sending a text or email.

Great location and night time views overlooking the city were incredible.

The location and views of this property are absolutely stunning! I couldn’t have asked for better for our wedding. However, many of the things listed at the time of booking were not at the property or broken. We spent a good amount of time cleaning things up before the wedding as there was random items laying around the yard, broken items laying around and tons of moths. Overall, if you are wanting a huge house, with incredible views, I would recommend! The host was very quick to communicate when needed.

The house was beautiful and was perfect for our needs. The ONLY reason it is not rated 5 out of 5 is because the listing stated 3 futons which I assumed could be used as beds and they were actually couches (which were very comfortable though). Highly recommend!!!!

This place was dirty when we arrived. There was old garbage in the kitchen trash can. The entire house was generally not clean. We spent a couple of hours cleaning when we first arrived. This house is old and in need of a lot of work. The premises is somewhat dilapidated. There were outlet covers missing. A bedroom outlet was out of the wall but still plugged into a lamp. There were lawn chemicals and sprayers left out in the front yard. Gas fire pit in the back did not work. The pictures show a large swing in the front yard, it's not there just the chains where a swing might have been. Patio area in the back has a beautiful view of the city, but again is unkept and dirty. No instruction book or guides. This is a large house with a lot of the light switches and appliances need some explanation. Overall, this could be a nice place, but it is dirty and rundown. The outlets, chemicals, cleanliness and lack of instructions of any kind make this place borderline unsafe particularly for families with small children.

I can imagine what the property looked like if it had a caregiver. Lovely home that is fairly run down . We had a family reunion here with children ranging from ages 1-12. The home was huge and full of custom decor accents but it was apparent that there was no one regularly maintaining the place. I addressed areas of improvement with the homeowner upon checkout and am confident that everything will be fixed for the next visitors.

The positives:
This is a sprawling house with lots of room to accommodate a large group on a lovely large wooded lot with privacy galore. We enjoyed breathtaking vistas overlooking the city lights and spectacular sunrises off the giant patio and covered porch.
Part lodge, part modern addition, we had very easy access to the airport, groceries and activities but felt secluded.
The kitchen is fully equipped. The pantry and (new) refrigerator is stocked with condiments and foodstuffs left behind by previous guests. The beds were comfortable.
It has a great game room with wet bar, cool retro art and pool table, a beautiful weight room, hot tub and awesome wood fire pit out front.
The negatives
Health and safety:
We arrived to garages filled with trash and garbage which had been pilfered and scattered by animals as two of the doors did not close completely. One night a bear destroyed a door to get to the smelly mess. The weight room was only accessible by walking through the sticky garage. This was unacceptable. After multiple attempts to resolve this with the owner and reaching out to VRBO the trash was eventually hauled away but the gunk remained.
Two sliding doors were off their tracks so the house was not secured when we checked in. Although photos were sent to the owner, no one came to repair them.
Maintenance:
There were torn screens, several inoperable windows, burned out lightbulbs, lamps with no outlets into which to plug them and one of the door handles fell off. The upholstered furniture was so heavily sprayed with deodorizer that two days had to pass before it was not overwhelming even after airing the cushions out on the deck. Only two pool cues were not broken.
Misrepresentation:
Neither the gas fire pit, sauna nor steam room were operable, nor was the massage chair anywhere to be found.
Other FYI:
The three queen beds are in a loft overlooking the great room which does provide a place to sleep but little privacy.
We would not stay there again, but it was indeed a memorable experience.

We had the most fantastic weekend celebrating our small wedding with friends and family at this property. The property manager was on-site and very friendly and communicative. The home was beautiful and large enough to accommodate many of our overnight wedding guests. Thank you so much!

The home is spacious and lovely. Close to area activities. The kitchen was a delight to work in. The views of the city were awesome. I would have given 5 stars but previous tenants didn't put trash in totes and garage had garbage ripped open. The smell was noticeable.. The home needs several handy man projects. Eliminating the smell annd fixing the projects would make it 5 star.

We had our wedding here and it was better than I could’ve imagined. There were a few hiccups with the fridge and other things but the property owners were super responsive and fixed everything immediately. Would highly recommend.

We rented this property to host the backyard wedding of our dreams and it did not disappoint!
The Vrbo was gorgeous, giving our guests a comfy stay, and the back yard and front yard were perfect for all sorts of activities including volleyball, a food truck, bike rides, and much more!
We did have a few hiccups through, including: the main freezer not working (which made our ice cream sandwich situation stressful), the front yard grass was too long for volleyball (so we cut it ourselves), the garages were filled with months of trash, the steam room was broken, and there were multiple door handles that did not work.
However, we were able to work around each of these hiccups and were so glad to be able to have the place for a few days.
The owner of the Vrbo was very communicative to us, and the location of the Vrbo offers a lot of privacy. Not to mention the view of Colorado Springs from the backyard at night is magical!
We would rent this place out again, and would recommend to anyone throwing a small wedding, as long as they don't mind some of the smaller issues that might pop up along the way.
Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Perhaps because I have been spoiled by other VRBOs, but was pretty disappointed in this one overall.
First the pros: Good location, plenty of space, plenty of bathrooms, many included accessories (lots of kitchen items to help with cooking, serving, eating).
Now the cons with a bit of description. Overall the house just seemed a bit run down. It could really use a handyman to stay a week and just fix all the miscellaneous things. Several exterior doors didn't shut correctly (you can easily see daylight around the doors). People got stuck multiple times in the bathroom since the door sticks a bit and the door knob would fall off. There was a electric box that was open with exposed wires. Screen doors weren't on the tracks. Stuff like that. The TVs were almost not usable as the remotes didn't have batteries, weren't programmed correctly, or some other issue. None of the refrigerators kept the temperature at appropriate levels (best it could do was around 40, but usually hung around 50 during the day). We had to put a heavy chair in front of the main refrigerator to keep the door shut and help keep it cool (somewhat helped). The main level just kind of smelled like a dirty dish rag. Not sure how else to explain it. We only ventured into the workout room one time. Partially because we didn't need it, but also just wasn't safe for kids. There was a large glass pane (from a window perhaps?) that was leaning up against the wall. There was a loose tile above the dry sauna glass door that probably would have fallen off if we used that door much (the door brushed up against the loose tile).
There was a huge pile of trash bags in both garages when we arrived and was never removed.
Some of the furniture was broken and/or missing. Chairs missing from table, coffee table with broken/missing legs.
There were missing balusters (dangerous for children).
We all had fun despite the cons of the house. For the price, we were hoping for better. Depending on your group, this house may suffice just fine.

Family vacation
A remarkable property with a stunning view. Watched 4 th of July Fireworks from the Patio. Lots of room for a family of 14. Well stocked kitchen. Owner was very helpful in answering questions, and allowed us to have a ping pong table delivered to property for an annual family competition, which we left for the next quests to enjoy.. The outdoor hot tub is very large, and could accommodate our large family. We enjoyed our time in the beautiful mountain air.
4.0
Upon arrival, we had no check in information. Luckily the front door was unlocked or we would have been stuck outside. No contact information was provided to address issues and there was delay in getting assistance. The hot tub was empty and the back yard was full of overgrown weeds and thistles. Not to mention the mountain of stinky garbage in the garage. We also were not provided a "check out" guide or basics about the property (ie. where to put trash, wi-fi information, information on how to use many of things in the property {so many light switches, stereo system, hot tub controls, sauna controls, steam room, etc.}, things to do in the area, recommendations of what to do/where to eat). A nice binder with some laminated sheets would be a great help for future visitors.
Aside from those issues, the next door neighbor, Nick, stopped over to help out with some information and hauled away the garbage. The pool/hot tub company was also contacted to come fix the hot tub the day after we arrived. The property was spacious and provided plenty of room for our large group of friends. The dining room tables (inside & outside) allowed for nice "family" style meals. The commercial quality kitchen was well stocked with many utensils and some items in the pantry. The pool table definitely got its use as well as the fully equipped weight room. The bed linens and towels for each bedroom/bathroom were nice and fresh for our stay.

Beautiful view - No communication
The positives of this property are the size, the location, and the view. However, there was no communication...we never got information about check-in, check-out, wi-fi and even after 5-6 phone calls to a full voicemail and 4 messages through VRBO asking various questions, we never heard from the manager. Overall, the property was functional, but the lack of communication was extremely frustrating.

We had 13 members of our extended east-coast family stay at this beautiful property for our son's graduation from the academy. Everything, and I actually mean, everything, we needed was provided in this turn-key home. The location is gorgeous, the beds comfortable, even the master bathroom belongs in a magazine. Very highly recommended! Thank you!

As all the reviews state, this property is gorgeous. You definitely feel like you're on top of the world at Neal Ranch. The views are worth it alone!
The owners, unfortunately, are not as communicative as the other reviews suggest. We booked Neal Ranch 10 months out and had a difficult time getting the owners to answer any of our messages from booking, to flying out to view the property, up until our actual week staying there.
A couple of hiccups I can understand, but at no point in the 10 months I attempted to communicate with the owner did I feel like they had "excellent" communication. Our message chain is riddled with questions I asked that politely went unanswered.
That aside, staying at the property had a few unnecessary difficulties, including: The owners waited until two days into our trip to give us a phone number for assistance. There were no house rules posted anywhere on the property, so we couldn't access the wifi, or use the in-house sound system at all. We had no idea where anything was or what the myriad of light switches were for. And, man, lemme tell you... There are. So. Many. Light. Switches. They aren't labeled in a way that makes sense and the owners were of no help. People also showed up the day of our wedding to clean the hot tub only, again, the owners did not communicate this to us. We also explicitly told the owners we were renting Neal Ranch for a wedding, so it would have been nice to know that they had all kinds of wedding items on site that we didn't need to purchase.
The house and location are great. You can't beat the space and the game room, gym, sauna, and hot tub were a huge hit with our family. The overall experience, however, was like *shrug*
We would definitely stay again, but not for an important event that requires nay degree of communication.

The property was beautiful. The house was large and we really enjoyed all the rooms. The hot tub was really fun in the snow. There was plenty of room for all of us in the house.
The kitchen was well stocked plenty of plates and utensils and everything needed.
My only negatives would be, there was no porch light on when we arrived and it was dark and icy. The house was also dark and the front door was unlocked. We had to search for the lights. It was also freezing cold inside and we had to look for the thermostat.
The other negative was the listing showed sleep sofa/butron in several of the rooms, there was sofas that you could sleep on but there was no futons . That could be a problem if some cannot sleep with others in the bed and they do need a futon.
But all in all negatives aside it was a fantastic trip a fantastic house and we loved every minute of it and we highly recommend it to others. And we would not hesitate renting that same house again.

We spent Thanksgiving 2021 with our children and grandchildren and had a wonderful time. The property was as advertised and there was plenty of room for the 7 adults and 2 children. There were extra bedrooms we did not use and plenty of bathrooms and outdoor space. From evening relaxing dinners in the great room by the fire to watching football in the family room, fun was had by all!! Loved the setting of the home nestled in large pines and a lovely historic ranch house built in the 1930's. Wonderfully updated while still preserving the charm of the time period. A well-stocked kitchen with modern appliances and a large refrigerator to hold food for the 5 days. Wine frig and large pantry. Beds and linens were nice and fresh and overall stay was very nice. We will return.

Everything was clean, stocked to our surprise, well taken care of and so beautiful! Only thing is, there was no instructions on site on how to run sound system, hot tub, tv or check out process. Mike was very easy to get ahold of by phone and answered questions promptly! Had an amazing time with our friends!
