Situated in Homer, this lovely cabin for $234 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. Welcome to our charming Up the Hill cabin, just two miles from town. Enjoy birds-eye views of the bay, the Homer spit, glaciers, and mountains while you relax on the deck, Please be aware that there are 26 fairly steep steps up to the cabin to get that view. The cabin has a loft with a queen size bed and a fold-down futon in the living room. The kitchen includes a gas stove and a full-sized refrigerator, locally roasted coffee and a small drip coffee maker, toaster, all pots, pans, and utensils, and basic pantry items. Up The Hill cabin will give you a taste of the true Alaska with all the modern conveniences: You'll have wi-fi and Netflix, and a gas grill on the deck that overlooks the spit, bay, and Grewink glacier. The cabin sits on 1.5 acres offering privacy for your stay. A car is required, and if you fly in from Anchorage rental cars are available at the airport. If you stay in the winter, a four-wheel-drive vehicle may be required to get up the driveway. We live next door to the cabin and are available any time to make your stay more enjoyable. Many people fall in love with Homer after visiting and want to invest in their own place here. I stayed here for two weeks as I went fishing and bear viewing and it was absolutely the most perfect home or cabin ever. Debbie was such a gracious host and everything was in perfect order. I will definitely stay here again.

We spent a week in this cabin, and it was one of those rare instances where the reality was better than the photos. The view was absolutely outstanding: mountains, a glacier, the ocean, and the spit. We even had three moose in our front yard one day. The main floor and loft bedroom were the perfect size for two people, and everything was well cared for. We ran into the tiniest of hiccups – really, not worth mentioning – and Debbie went absolutely above and beyond to address it. She was very caring about our stay and an excellent host. We will absolutely stay here again if we return to Homer and can 100% recommend it. The only thing we’d call out is if you have mobility issues, it might not be a great fit for you. Going down the stairs at night to use the bathroom, for example, would definitely be challenging for some people.

This place is so fabulous that I hesitate to review it because then it may never be available when I want it! Sure, we would prefer a place where we did not have to walk down a winding staircase to use the toilet in the night, but the view is so spectacular that we hope to return many times. The cabin is cozy and well maintained, and Debbie was very attentive and friendly.

Debbie’s place was amazing. The changing of the fog, the full moon you can almost touch, the orange moon as it sets, the spit, the sandhill cranes who live there, fresh eggs. I can’t explain see it for yourself.Streps we’re a workout but worth it.

The Up the Hill cabin was perfect. We stayed two nights exploring Homer and the Spit. The cabin had everything we needed and the view is spectacular! The newly added deck with roof proved to be very beneficial as we did get rain on the weekend but could still sit out and enjoy the sights.

It would be hard to find a spot more comfortable, scenic, peaceful and beautiful. Debbie was the ultimate hostess, making sure the drive up the hill was plowed and accessible on a snowy day in March!

Wonderful cozy cabin on the hill overlooking Homer Spit, Kachemak Bay, Grewingk Glacier and Cook Inlet. The views are incredible from the cabin. Owner Debbie provided everything we needed for being comfortable and for cooking at the cabin. It was very clean with lots of thoughtful touches including fresh eggs Debbie delivered from her chickens. Only a short drive to the Homer Spit, restaurants and other destinations in and around Homer.

Amazing view out the front window of this unit! I just wanted to sit on the front porch (but it was chilly!) or at the front window because the view of the spit was incredible. Be careful on the steps up to the bedroom, though.

Our rental experience here in Homer was the best! We highly recommend this cabin, and already plan to rent again when we return to Homer. Debbie is the best host. She brought us fresh eggs. The cabin is adorable and exactly what we needed for our stay. We had no trouble at all finding the place. The view is amazing!

We enjoyed our stay and appreciated the friendly welcoming words from Debbie. The view from the cabin is breathtaking and the fire pit is great. Equipment is pretty basic but everything is in order. This place is the perfect gateway to discover this charming part of Alaska.
