About this condo rental
Location, location, location! Plan your next Mammoth ski trip around this large, fully-remodeled 2-bedroom plus loft, 3-bath townhome in the desirable Chamonix development; adjacent to the world-famous Mammoth Mountain ski resort. Sleeps 8! This unit is nestled within one of Mammoth's loveliest residential areas, and is just a 5-minute walk to Canyon Lodge. This mountain retreat boasts generous spaces for one or two families. The Master bedroom with ensuite bath offers a King bed, while the second bedroom (also with ensuite bath) has a comfy Queen-sized bed. Plenty of additional sleeping is available in the second floor loft, with two sets of bunk beds providing a total of three Twin beds and a Full bed (one bunk bed has a Twin over Twin, and the second bunk bed has Twin over Full). There is a galley style-kitchen that opens onto an oversized dining table with seating for 10; adjacent to a warm, formal living room with custom wood-burning, stone fireplace. There is a separate TV area, so you can relax in front of the fire with a good book or a board game, while others watch TV nearby. The multiple spaces function well for group dynamics; during travel, everyone has a place to be to do their own thing, but everyone is still together. Additional sleeping is possible using the Queen sleeper sofa in the living room. Complimentary WiFi is provided, as is parking for 2 cars. Guests have full access to complex amenities, including a community rec room, hot tubs, coin laundry, and seasonal swimming pool and BBQs. TOML Tax ID #4742

location, cleanliness, overall layout all worked great for our group. Thanks, we'll be back.

We love how close the property is to Canyon Lodge and the jacuzzi and steam room! The kitchen is a funky layout but well stocked. Check in was easy. Beds are super comfy!!

Just as the title states. Bonus that the house gets really warm from the wall heaters.

Where do I start…. Place is slightly run down, but not a big deal. Kitchen was super small, only enough room for one person to be in at a time. Day 1 and Day 2 only had 1 working toilet of the three and construction hammering noise on exterior of unit, with no mention of construction when booking. Rental company did offer to move us to the other side of town to another unit, which was not an option with other family and friends staying in other units in complex. Rental company did return a small about of compensation and an apology. Then Day 4 we found rodents(rats) eating our dry foods and another stuck to one of 7 glue traps found throughout the unit… which turned into a sleepless night for the kids. We complained to the rental management company again and got a response from the CEO stating, that when you stay in the rural areas, such as a condo in town in Mammoth Lakes California that we should expect wildlife in the units. Note: Both friends/family condos had no issues. Anyways we asked for a 1 night refund or future credit considering we stay up there 60+ days a years and it was denied by the CEO for “wildlife” being a normal part of the stay… or my thoughts maybe a rodent infestation problem …Thoughts? Book and ask questions.

The location of the stay was really good. But the sofa ,pillows and blankets were not cleaned as expected. The rooms were not clean as expected.

Pictures mostly reflect the property. The kitchen is VERY small. We didn’t plan on cooking much, but it was annoying that the can opener didn’t work and the only cutting board to be found was on the ground and stained. The condo is in a decent location, the beds average. It was just ok.

Great location! Beds were comfy! Fireplace was great! Cozy perfect little getaway for a birthday celebration with close friends and family!

Well located unit with easy ski storage. We were a party of 6 adults. Beds were comfortable. Cooking dinner in one night was a little difficult in the small kitchen. Kitchen was so small we couldn’t open the dishwasher all the way. Kitchen needs updating. Chacoozi was heated, but no jets and no bubbles. TV was small for today’s standards. An upgrade to at least a 42” TV would be a great update. We all had plenty of hot water…that was great! The walk to Canyon was a bit long in ski boots, but there was plenty of parking to drive, park at Canyon, and boot up in the parking lot. All in all, it worked for what we needed.

The condo has a great location close to lift and hot tub. The kitchen is small but was fine. We could have used more bath towels! Enjoyed the fireplace and ski locker was great! Had a fabulous time at Mammoth Resort!

Great location I was just steps from the Canyon Lodge. No more than 10 minutes to the village. Good customer service, which is key for a quality stay.

Happened to be there during record snowfall, but the resort area and town did a great job keeping the roads clear enough to navigate and we were able to have a great time. Found the property as listed and would stay in the village again.

Plenty of room for our party of 6 other than a very small kitchen. Clean. Good location.

Need to add some extra fans because the rooms were all extremely hot but other than that the room were nice. No air conditioning.

We had a great week here as a family. Highly recommend.

We were looking for a condo with options for sleeping since we have a little one that needs their own space with a closed door for napping and sleeping and an older one who needs their own space. This worked out well here. No frills, but had everything we needed. There are no shades to block out light so if you have kids that get up with the sun that will happen here and next time might bring our own blackout curtains.

Perfect family get away
This place was amazing everything it said it was! It was right across the street from the pool and rec room!! Only thing I would say is it has a lot of stairs and it was hard for the older people to climb but they did it and it was good

It’s definitely an older unit, but the price seemed fair and it’s in a great location

Great location that is easy to get into! Plenty of parking even after arriving late on a Friday night.
Space is large and has a great common area.
Bedrooms do get a little noisy if people are walking above them but overall are great. Bed was a little hard in the queen room.

Great Location
The place was close to canyon lodge which was great.
The place was spacious and had plenty of room for 8people.
The only downside of the place was that it needs an update. The 2 main bedrooms would have been perfect If both rooms had king size beds.
Would I stay here again? Definitely. I can live with old furniture for the location and size of the place
Thanks

Couple non-material issues, but overall pretty good
Overall, this is a very good place to stay. We stayed 6 nights.
Location is unbeatable: literally a 5-10 min walk to Canyon Lodge (true walking distance) which is very convenient to not have to walk a long distance or find parking to ski.
Overall, the place was very clean and the management was very responsive, which was appreciated. The place is quite spacious and our group of 4 adults and two children was quite comfortable and not cramped.
There was an issue with the dishwasher which was able to be fixed. There was also an *unexpected visitor* which was, shall we say, not a welcome sight.
The parking on the ad when we booked said two parking spaces. However, this is actually two unreserved spaces in a community lot with no guarantee parking will be available. Each car must have a tag on their car, and we did not go without a spot (but also never moved our cars), but the fact there is an issue with potentially not having a spot did not make me feel great.
I'm splitting hairs, but the sink dish soap was not adequately stocked: they had done the old trick of filling up a semi-empty bottle of soap with water to make it look "more full," which seemed a tad frugal to me. Also, we had to ask for additional things like bath towels and paper towels, which were quickly provided upon request, but with longer staying guests should probably just have the place better stocked.
Laundry was communal and not in the same building as our unit; which was kind of a bummer. I've stayed at other cabins near Canyon Lodge which had in-cabin private washer and dryer. With the blizzard conditions, we did not use the laundry as it meant treading snow to another building.
On stronger notes, the internet/wifi was stellar!! Also, the unit has a SmartTv with Prime/Netflix etc capability which was very convenient. Kitchen is small, but all cooking appliances worked and we were able to cook normally.
I've made a few nitty/gritty comments, but want to stress overall this is a very, very good place, and would definitely stay again. The management team is very good, responsive, and professional. Thank you to the owner and management team!

Stayed 5 nights in the summer during an unusual heat wave, 90+ degree weather. The place is very clean and very large. There are parts of the townhouse that look recently redone, (kitchen, bathroom floors, carpets(?)) maybe 2-4 years ago while some parts look a little dated. Though oddly small, the kitchen is efficiently designed and has relatively new appliances including microwave convention oven. Kitchen is most well-stocked of all vacation rentals I've been though I would've appreciated less stuff and give me one good veggie peeler, a small cutting board, a bread knife for the freshly baked bread from Bleu Market, and a cheese slicer.
I thought the beds were comfortable, my husband felt the mattress was a tad soft for his liking.
This place didn't have A/C though not sure many places do at Mammoth. We checked in late evening and the place was HOT. One ceiling fan squeaked so much we had to turn if off, and then it stopped working. Our 1st night wasn't very comfortable. Luckily there's a nice breeze in the evening that cooled off the place for subsequent evenings. After our stay I saw one reviewer said portable A/Cs were available for rental, but I called the property manager who says A/C is not available.
The one thing I particularly disliked was some type of odor in the lower bedrooms detected the first night, so much so, I slept in the loft on a bunk bed. Initially thought it was a musty odor but my husband thought it was either disinfectant, cleaner, or possibly even bug spray. I've stayed at another VRBO where there were ants but the owner left orange oil spray to use which smelled much better. The smell dissipated after two days of leaving the windows open during the evening. But would encourage owners/property managers to switch to something with less odor because, otherwise, this is a decent place to stay.
The property managers were responsive and offered to fix the fan & odor but with poor cell reception while fishing, we didn't get the messages until late in the day, and with CV19, we didn't want to have anyone in the house. Communication with managers was good but the company's processes seem a little cumbersome. Too many emails and pages to print; there's a tablet you're supposed to use upon check-in but it was dead, and a survey to complete (who wants to fill out a survey on vacation?).
Do visit Bleu Market and the local distilleries/breweries include June Lake Brewery!

Good vacation time
The house is super clean-everyone compliments it! Full of useful stuff so you don't need to bring too much. Very convenient location, close to everything. Will come again next time.
Two things to improve: 1. Fridge is noisy (like other reviewer mentioned), better change a fridge. 2. Ventilation in the house is not that good, especially in the attic area on the third floor. The bunk beds make the air stuffy. We have to keep the window open through the night.

Summer Vacation
The property was in a great location. Very clean and beautiful. The only thing that was difficult was the dry air. The place didn’t have much airflow. Other than that. Everything was great!
