My 11 year old son and I stayed in this cabin March 1-4, 2024. It was our first time to Estes Park. I was blown away with how beautiful the area is. The town sits in a bowl which is an incredible sight when you drive in for the first time. It was a great experience. The cabin was perfect for us. The beds were very comfortable (but would be tight to fit 2 people on one bed if you're a normal sized human), all rooms were well equipped, clean with great carpentry throughout. The view from the deck was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. We saw several groups of mule deer and a big bull elk 50-100 yards from the property. The cabin is conveniently located with a short drive to downtown. We ate at The Post twice out of the 3 nights because it was so good. It snowed the second night we were there and were greeted by the host shortly after we woke up as she was spreading gravel on the walkways and street for safety to keep us from slipping or driving into a ditch. She was great to talk to and very informative. She knows the area and mountain activity well. She probably saved us from getting stuck on the top of Bear Lake by telling us to start heading down by 1 because the wind will pick up. We were up at Bear Lake by 11:00, then around 12:45, the wind started REALLY PICKING UP so we headed down. She told us about the history of the cabin itself which was really interesting. From what I recall, the cabin was originally built in the 1850s or 1870s, then moved, then refinished.

This cabin has unbelievable views of longs peak. Nice deck and table/chairs to enjoy the views while eating and or the stars at night. Quiet area, we saw about 6 elk (bucks) just down the road. And lots of dear by the house. The road is less traveled so we were able to just watch the elk eat! Very clean and comfortable. Comfy beds and couch. My boys enjoyed the board games and watching tv before bed. Fully stocked kitchen. The owners are extremely nice and very communicative! My 9 year old got up and shoveled and the owners gave him a 25 refund. He was so excited, it made his day! Also we had a bit of a storm come through and the owners offered us to stay an extra night(s), which at first I thought we’d be okay but in the morning everything was so icy it made us nervous. I was extremely thankful that they had the availability and didn’t mind us staying another night. This cabin is also right next to the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. My favorite grocery store is right down the road (The Country Market) Also Birds Nest is at the end of the road, it has yummy pastries, coffee and lunch stuff like pizza and sandwiches! You can’t beat this cabin, from the views and location to how clean and comfortable it is. Definitely a must stay for Estes! Thank you again for sharing your lovely home with us!!
