Hotel was fine but not for the price. We were “upgraded” upon check in as part of the package we had booked. Originally booked an Atelier room with a king bed. The “upgrade” was to a room with two double beds on the ground floor with zero view (literally zero… the window faced the courtyard but there were plants trellised up the window so you couldn’t see out and there was no light at all. Room was incredibly dark. Also, it rained heavily on the last evening we were there and in the morning, all the carpeting along the exterior wall was soaking wet (inside the room). Pretty gross. For as much as we paid for this hotel, don’t BS me with an upgrade that is decidedly not an improvement - just a dank and dark basement room.
Also, had a UPS package delivered to myself while staying there and I had to ask three seperate times over two days before someone actually went to find it for me.
Way overpriced hotel that looks like they renovated an older hotel with minimal effort. Best thing I can say is that the location is good, bar in hotel is nice and they have a nice coffee shop in the lobby.

The hotel itself is beautiful. Getting the room cleaned, we had to ask both days to have it done. When we got back to the room it was 4 pm and still not cleaned. The other day it was not cleaned either but we had gotten back a little earlier. Had to walk down to front desk to order room service as no one answered when we called twice trying to order. And the room service meal was not good. So nice hotel, service was lacking. Would stay again if service got better.

I have no idea how this hotel is only rated 4.1 stars on Google. I thought it was phenomenal. Last year I stayed in the same area at the Planters Inn and was hugely disappointed by the experience vs. the cost. Emeline was gorgeous, the bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in while traveling. The staff was all incredibly friendly, the free coffee was delicious. Evening drinks at Frannie & the Fox on the open air patio were lovely due to ambiance of the massive stone fireplace and fairy lights. Walking distance to everything. Absolutely a 5 star stay and will stay again!!

Location was great! The bartenders were wonderful, too! Nespresso machines down the hall were a perfect touch, and the outside area was very cute.

Beautiful clean hotel. Simple and comfy room. Planned on eating at the restaurant but it and both bars were closed for a private event (rehearsal dinner) which sent us hiking around town to find something else to eat as soon as we got into town. Not fun! I guess $ speaks when you have a large group buying out your restaurant and bars, but it still feels very unfair to the paying guests. The alternative was paying more for a simplified menu in-room with an automatic 20% gratuity + $7 surcharge. No thanks - don't want to pay more to eat on my bed. All this is even more soured by the fact that we have to pay the resort fee.

The best thing about this property is the location. The design is unique and has a nice vibe. Love the courtyard. The Nespresso coffee machines on our floor was a really nice amenity.
I gave three stars for service because on our first day the bartender was too busy filling bottles and containers behind the bar. Gave us menus when we sat down but it was at least 30 minutes if not longer before we could get him to take our order. Wasted time trying to just order a drink and a snack. We’ve stayed here before and been here other times for drinks and have never had such slow inattentive service. We will probably never go back to the bar.
Checkout was smooth and the front desk associate was pleasant and friendly, so helpful! I had to remind them when checking out of my Expedia VIP perks because the person checking us in didn’t note it on my bill.

Stay was wonderful and room was really comfortable. Valet parking and checkout were both really chaotic, but a conference was also finishing around the same time we were leaving.

Our stay at the Emeline was nothing short of pleasant and enjoyable. We were surrounded by great food and all the shopping was within walking distance. The hotel itself was unique and well decorated. The outdoor space was perfect for end of day drinks and conversation. We will definitely be back.

50th Birthday Trip with my Best Friend. The front desk and bellman service was awesome! Mark, one of the bellman, went out of his way to help me when my luggage didn't make it on my flight and was super helpful the rest of the trip. There is a front desk gentleman that was extremely nice and helpful. The rest of the experience was mediocre and certainly not worth the $500+/nt. Housekeeping came 1x during our 4/nt. stay, (only once they made the bed, brought clean towels & the dirty dishes in the were still there the day we checked out (they did give a credit back to us for the lack of housekeeping). The reason I didn't stay in a VRBO was because I wanted housekeeping service during my birthday trip. The hotel is dog-friendly. Look, I have a dog but that doesn't mean I want to wake up to a barking dog or hear a dog barking when I'm in my room relaxing after a day of exploring the city. The worst part was a piece of jewelry went missing from the room. Luckily it wasn't an expensive piece & it was reported immediately. The hotel followed up and said they didn't find it. Of course they didn't find it - it wasn't lost, it was taken. My friend had her on the bedside table and the next day when she looked for it, it was gone. My friend has very expensive jewelry and she had her "real" stuff on. She had just bought a costume piece at a little boutique on King Street and then it was gone...In summary, if you want an "excellence" experience, stay somewhere else.

Excellent hotel with a retro look and feel. From the southern hospitality to the quality of the rooms this is a great choice to stay in Charleston. Located within walking distance of major tourist attractions in the French quarter and quality restaurants. I loved the suite with plenty of natural light and nice touches (first time I've stayed in a hotel with a vinyl record player, and excellent choice of LPs). Shower and bed super comfortable. Complimentary Tazo tea and Nespresso in every floor. We also enjoyed an excellent dinner at their restaurant. Very complete gym with Peloton bike. Decoration for Christmas was lovely, Highly recommended

Overall wonderful stay. So close to basically everything in DT Charleston. Coffee, shopping, market, dining, an adjacent parking lot that's a little cheaper if you plan on renting a car and street parking if you're lucky to find it. It worked well to park a car on the street overnight if you have a before-6am flight ;)
Cons were basically housekeeping cleanliness. I felt like surfaces weren't wiped or cleaned properly. It had a hint of grime that didn't sit well with me, so that would be my feedback. Overall, worth it for the city!

So Jimmy met us when we arrived. It was pouring down rain but let me tell you he made sure we all stayed dry including our 2 furbabies. He set the tone for our stay and nothing disappointed us after that

A wonderful stay and the staff was very accommodating. They provided an upgrade for both rooms. There was an iss ue with temp controls in one room and we were moved to another suite. In all a great place to stay and beautifully decorated for the holidays.
