The Elk Mountain Lodge was an absolute delight. From the check-in staff diligently texting instructions and making my check in easy given the possibility of late arrival, to the homemade breakfasts and evening cookies, to the setting in what appears to be a retrofitted 20th century mansion, everything synthesizes together to create a warm, friendly, inviting vibe. And you still get the ski-conveniences and luxuries like a ski rack room and hot tub. Wonderful place.

Love the Elk Mountain Lodge! As a former longtime, Gunnison county resident, I have stayed there before with family and my girlfriend and I decided to choose this fantastic lodging option again. Walkable and close to everything in town, including the mountain shuttle. Special shout out to the fantastic service by Eric and Doug as we had to leave a day early and they provided us a full refund for unused night. Don’t hesitate to check out the elk Mountain Lodge, one of the better lodging options in downtown Crested Butte!

Lovely, comfortable and welcomng. Great welcome from the host, cosy room, and lovely home cooked breakfast. Range of foods offered and the host checked that we were ok when ever he saw us. Hot water and a range of hot drinks available at Ash times. Cozy lounge area to meet and chat with other guests. We didn’t use the hot tub but it looked good.

This was a lovely place to stay. Staff so friendly and helpful, they had a great breakfast and snacked in the evening. Many sitting places in the hotel to visit and gather. The Lodge is located right in town, so nice to walk to everything, yet very quiet.
Would definitely stay here again!

The towels were great: new and fluffy. The bed was not a Queen as advertised; it was a double.
We were slightly late for breakfast and we’re rudely told breakfast was over so 9:00. We were not offered anything, even though bagels and a fruit tray were plainly visible. We will not return.

Our stay here was for only one night, wish we had more. We originally were going to camp, but weather got in the way. We were to camp Friday and Saturday then I booked this for Sunday into Monday. Once we figured we weren't going to camp, it wasn't available Fri and Sat. Would definitely stay here again, so close to everything in town, and the bed was the best part, so comfortable. Place was very clean, didn't eat breakfast as they put walnuts in the french toast, I would say put those on the side for those who are allergic or do not like them at all. Great place.

The property, the location and the staff were awesome! Chris at the front desk was great and makes a good Old Fashioned. Even the morning breakfasts, while limited in selection, we're very good. I would stay here again, but you need to be aware...
...the dump truck traffic through all hours of the night was unbearable. It sounds like someone running up and down the street with trash cans on rollers. I believe they were removing snow so I gave more grace, but it was ridiculously loud and at all hours of the night. It's not EML's fault but the city manager needs to address in some way.

The staff, especially Mark, were friendly and accommodating. The full breakfast that was included had a casserole dish, fruit, boiled eggs and a variety of breads. We really enjoyed the spinach, egg casserole. We would have liked more specialty coffees available 24/7. The rooms were adequate for an old historical boarding house. Shampoo, conditioner and make up remover wipes provided. Really our only challenge was the hot tub was not fully heated when we went to use it-only 91 degrees. But it is large enough for 7-8 people and nice. The small bar was cute and wine was provided when we asked. Overall, it was a great place to stay for a couples getaway. And only a few blocks from the Main Street with restaurants and shops.

It was very clean, centrally located, comfortable ( loved the common/ reading rooms), but it was the staff that we thought did a superb job. They were extremely helpful with all our different questions from hiking trails, dinner suggestions to which way to drive home due to snow conditions.

Excellent! First, the communication from the hotel was fantastic. Very informative and helpful. When we checked in, the gentleman at the desk gave us excellent info on where to eat and where to go to find fall color. The breakfasts were amazing! The location is perfect, right in town just a few blocks from the main road with all the shops and restaurants. There is free parking on site and also right on the street at the hotel. Thank you also to the nice young man who carried my bag up to the 3rd floor. We had a lovely little balcony with a view of Mount Crested Butte. I highly recommend Elk Mountain Lodge next time your in Crested Butte. Will definitely book again!

Cozy and welcoming lodge with wonderful staff and great places to relax after hitting the slopes or spending time in town.

Amazing breakfast, huge hot tub and easy walking distance to the shuttle for skiing. We loved the homey feeling, lots of sitting areas to relax, very kind and flexible staff. Old inn, so expect the rooms and carpet to be dated, and bring ear plugs for thin walls, but the charm and location more than makes up for it. We didn’t have time for a drink at their little bar, I’m looking forward to that next time.

We absolutely loved staying at the Elk Mountain Lodge. All of the employees were wonderful and so helpful. They even helped me find contact solution when I forgot to pack mine. The breakfasts were delicious and they always have hot water and tea out. The rooms were very comfortable and cute and exactly what we needed for a ski weekend. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Amazing lodge! Quiet and comfortable with unbeatable hospitality! Breakfast was good each morning (3 days) even the coffee. Warm feel and the lounge/restaurant areas were welcoming. This is our 2nd straight year here and I would imagine it’s just as amazing in summertime. Thank you Elk Mountain Lodge!!!

Elk Mountain Lodge is a gem in Crested Butte! We walked to restaurants and to the various XC ski trails & snow shoe trails. Staff was always friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were different each morning and tasty. My bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and the bathroom impeccably clean. Enjoyed the hot tub!

This was my first time staying at a lodge, and I loved it so much! The staff and atmosphere was so personable, homey, and warm. Matt checked us in and was our bartender the first night and he was great, answered all questions we had and offered suggestions. The hot tub was amazing. Even though their parking lot was full, it was easy to find street parking. I would definitely stay here again.

Historic property, well situated - asking distance from downtown shops and restaurants. Some rooms have been updated, some are a bit “rustic.” Wonderful breakfasts, great staff.
