The bed and pillow is very very comfortable
our second night a lot of noise and a lot of shouting outside the hotel can be heard in our room for hours (probably from the homeless)

It was in a good location and the staff were all very friendly.
It was very dated and some areas in the room including vents and behind drawers etc and above eye height in the bathroom were dirty and badly needed cleaned. However the bedding and towels were clean.

Great view this time, the safe was working, clean and comfortable bed/bed linen, room was warm and comfortable!
No tea making facility, only 1 bathrobe for 2 guests, small claustrophobic bathroom, water was $3 a bottle, when it should be complimentary, inadequate plug sockets to charge multiple devices, duvet/quilt was thin and not warm on the 2 fairly cold nights we were there!

Excellent staff and service. My travel plans changed and I arrived super early (10am instead of the 4pm plan) and they checked me in, no problem. The bed was comfortable, the room had a fridge/ironing board/hair dryer. The room had excellent blackout curtains. It's not the most modern hotel, but not outdated, either and excellent value for the location compared to others right around it. Wifi worked just fine (I didn't try anything intense, like massive downloads or uploads, but I was able to stream Netflix on my phone with no issues).
Plenty of restaurants within an easy walk. I didn't have a car so I don't know what the parking situation is.
Plenty of Ubers/taxis available. Right near several major bus stops and a block away from the BART (lightrail).
You definitely hear the street noise at all hours, but that's to be expected in this location (one of my friends was staying at the Intercontinental and you could hear street noise there, too). That's more of a "good for people to know" rather than a "I didn't like it" aspect. Really, I had no complaints.

It was conveniently located near everything.
Was in the perfect walking distance of Union square and transportation.

Incredibly clean and well kept. The owners put money into updating and upkeep and it shows. I always have my doubts about SF’s older hotels but this one stands out as the hotel that rally tries. Yes, they have a full length mirror in the closet and a laptop safe. Great city view of the old Mint. Trader Joe’s, Starbucks, the mall and Walgreens around the corner. Amazing and really nice staff.
I snore so I’m pretty sure they heard me next door. Sorry.

Nothing, except the full refund from Booking.com after we couldn't check into this hotel.
We couldn't check into the hotel. We arrived around 11pm and there was no front desk person and the only personnel (probably security) said that our reservation (paid in advance) was not confirmed by Booking.com. Us showing our email confirmation with the payment information did not change anything. He also did not respond to the calls and emails from the booking.com to resolve the issue. He just continuously said that he cannot do anything for us, because nobody left him a paper with our name on it. At least he could have picked up the phone, from the booking.com trying to call to resolve the situation.
I've reached out to Booking.com and they attempted calling to the property; and then sent an email. And after 30 minutes of getting no reply to their email, Booking.com has cancelled the reservation with a refund. Booking.com has offered another option 1.5 mile for the same price, but we rejected it because there was a nice hotel (Hampton Inn?) nearby, which we could pay for at their front desk.
Also, location was sketchy, but it probably applies to all hotels in this neighborhood.

Nice, big, clean, comfortable room. Friendly staff. Big, nice looking lobby. We were happy staying there.
Everything was fine in the hotel but the area outside packed with homeless.

Room was clean except for a bit of stains on just 1 panel of the curtain. Bed was comfortable. Parking was easy but had to pay extra for additional hours stay because of the Pride event which was fabulous. We would refer the place to friends and family for its ease and cleanliness even though the structure is years old.
I wish extra hours for the parking would have been waived.

We stayed for 1 night. When we used the toilet flush it flooded and water was all over the place. Apart from that, there is zero soundproof between the walls, you can iterally hear discussions from the rooms next door.

We stayed here previously in March 2020 and decided to stay here again in June 2023 when we returned to San Francisco for the night.
Staff are really friendly, Brian on reception was lovely. Decor is dated but the price reflects this, the hotel has everything you need and location is good.

The location was great! Walking distance to Moscone center where my conference was.
The staff were extremely helpful allowing us to store the luggage of our 20 students, who were accompanying us, on the day of our checkout until we were ready to leave. Thank you very much for that!
The location was great, however once it was dark it didn’t seem safe to be outside. The front steps of the building outside the hotel was full of homeless people!
The was a restaurant that was next door to the hotel with a door from the reception connecting, which seemed great, however the restaurant closed at 9 pm and there was nowhere to get food from!
The rooms seemed like they could use a face-lift especially the bathroom and entrance to the room.

Staff was very friendly. I'm afraid I didn't get the gentleman's name who checked me in early, but he could not have been more helpful and welcoming. Housekeeping was very friendly, room was very clean and comfortable. A facilities guy had to show me how to use the Keurig machine, it required some oddly regimented steps that were illustrated in pictures but confusing nonetheless. He ran me through the sequence twice. Never would have figured it out on my own. Nothing like a home Keurig. Hotel made all kinds of updates, considering it retained it's 1920s style without being old, creaky and dilapidated. Bedding was new, clean and comfortable.
Location is great, there's not much you can do outside the property. But the city needs to get it's sh*t together. The homeless problem is far more than a lack of housing. Aggressive thieves dot every block around Union Square. It's sad and DOES NOT FEEL SAFE! MORE POLICE ARE NEEDED. The governor of California is delusional or just lying when he recently declared after visiting, "I don't know what all the Dysopian (yes he said Dis-Soap-ian) views are about, it's awesome." I misquoted him except in spirit and he clearly doesn't know the word Dystopian, but it is indeed that. Beautiful city, vote the Bums out and clean it up before it becomes MadMax and is irretrievably destroyed. The Pickwick Hotel and others are doing more than their fair share, the mayor and city, county, state and federal government need to support businesses like it before they all leave. #PARC55. #HiltonUnionSquare #WestfieldSF

Staff were friendly. location was good
Room was very compact. bathtub needed replacing as paint had come off made it look as if it was dirty. A lot of road noise and noise from people fighting outside could be heard from the room, not a hotel to pick if you want a quiet nights sleep!

Location to Civic Center.
I didn't mind paying for parking but I should not have to pay extra for in & out parking. This privilege should be given for stay at the Hotel.
