About this house rental
Located in Sanibel Island, this lovely house for $679 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. Many return guests have checked into the Sun & Moon since our re-opening Feb 11th and we've received all 5-star reviews from all and most re-booked for the same week next year! New landscaping had just been completed prior to their arrival. We are ready for your reservation!! And all our VRBO photos were newly taken on July 29, 2023! There is continuing post-Ian progress on Captiva, which fared far better than Sanibel. The Island Store in the village center is open, as is The Mucky Duck. Captiva Cantina, R C Otter's, Captiva Island Pizza, Starbucks, the Old Captiva House at Tween-Waters Resort plus their Shipyard Restaurant, and their all new Crow's Nest Steakhouse with a fabulous view from the new 2nd floor dining room. The Green Flash Restaurant reopened Sept 22nd and the Bubble Room Ice Cream Shop is open. Shops open include YOLO Rentals, Beach Stuff, Jungle Drums Gallery and more! It won't be long until other restaurants and shops announce their re-openings. The beach looks as good as ever.. House Description: Our Sun & Moon House, a 3 br/3 bath Key West-inspired home on popular Wightman Lane, is only a three-minute walk down the sandy lane to the beach -- rated the most romantic for its calm, warm water, tropical atmosphere, and gorgeous sunsets. The restaurants in the village are just as close. And please note, we're on Captiva Island where you can drive to, unlike North Captiva - a totally separate destination - where no cars are permitted. We accept only Saturday to Saturday reservations, as is the standard on Captiva Island. We accept reservations no further than a year in advance, as current guests have the first option to reserve the same week the following year. If the guests do not re-book by 10 am of their departure day, a new reservation request may be accepted. The decor is always kept updated and amenities reflect a finished, comfortable home, rather than a rental unit. The new kitchen is fully equipped for any entertaining needs. Dining choices include a dining room or the screened, furnished lanai by the newly re-finished swimming pool and paver stone-covered pool deck, or even the furnished sun & moon deck on the top level. The glass-sided living room, with a leather, super comfortable sleeper sofa and side chairs, offers a panoramic view of the swimming pool and the tropical foliage. The entertainment center has a 50" LCD HDTV, DVD, and a Bluetooth connected 100-watt Onkyo stereo receiver, 6-disc CD changer and Infinity speakers inside and JBL poolside speakers. A large collection of CDs are provided. Wireless Comcast Internet and long-Comcast free calling in the 48 states. Beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, ice coolers, and handy beach cart make for an easy beach day. The master bedroom on the second floor has a king-size bed, its own full bath, and 32" HDTV. The "sun & moon" deck is accessible from this room as well as the hallway. The second-floor guest bedroom has two twin beds, HDTV/DVD, Receiver and CD player, and its own bath in the room. Children love this spacious and well decorated and equipped room. The twin beds can be placed together (with advance notice) and made up as a King size bed for a couple. The first-floor guest room, separated from the main living area for privacy, has a full bath, desk workspace, and 32" wall-mounted HDTV. It's perfect for another couple, the grandparents, or a nanny for the children. Naturally, all linens are provided and you'll find everything in perfect, move-in condition. Beach towels, lounge chairs, and umbrellas are provided for the beach. Our pool lanai is totally furnished and a new Weber gas grill is ready for a cookout. Even more information: Bikes for adults or children can be rented and delivered to your door. The restaurants in Captiva's village are no more than a two to three-minute walk away. Our Guest Guide, found in the living room, lists many of our personal recommendations to get your vacation started quickly. This home is not with a management company. It is managed and prepared personally by us, the owners. We personally supervise and assist our cleaning staff each Saturday. As the last to walk out the door prior to your arrival, we can assure you the Sun & Moon is one of the most immaculate and best-prepared homes on Captiva, both inside and outside. We also personally own and manage our smaller Mermaid House, VRBO 3506022, a classic Captiva cottage-style home. You are assured of a perfectly prepared house, both inside and out, as we're the last to leave the house before you arrive. Make your reservation today before your desired week is taken.

The 6 of us had a great time celebrating the new year and a birthday. Location is as good as any in Captiva, easy walk to the beach, restaurants, store and even the Farmers Market. We had everything we needed for a great stay.

The Sun and Moon is a lovely home with great gathering areas inside and out! The location has to be the best on the island - walking distance to most every restaurant and the beach. A short golf cart ride away from anywhere else on the island. Larry is the perfect host! We will be back:-)!!!

Hurricane Ian pushed us off of Sanibel and onto Captiva. We were over the top happy with Captiva and our accommodations at the “Sun and Moon.”
There was plenty of space for five adults. The common areas were great and the natural lighting was great. Everyone loved the privacy and quietness of the pool. Throughout our stay the owner, Larry Hahn, made sure our stay was the best. Two more months and we will be back at the “Sun and Moon.”

Our family (husband, daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughters (3yrs., 3mths.) loved our vacation at the Sun & Moon. Larry had the beautiful house ready for us when we arrived. It is well equipped with everything you need for a relaxing, fun time. All beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of linens and towels. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen but also walked to 2 of the restaurants that were close by. We did experience a tropical storm while there but never lost power and felt very safe in the house. Larry texted and checked on us too. The pool and lanai area are fabulous and we spent a lot of time there! We are looking forward to a return visit in 2024!

This place was great. The host was personally onsite making sure everything was ready for our stay. It came with everything you need for a day at the beach. Beach cart, umbrellas, chairs, coolers, etc. Easy walk to restaurants and island grocery.

Outstanding stay! Larry was so accommodating from the minute we got there until the day we left. Short walk to the beach and the wagon was great for taking beach chairs and umbrellas to the beach. Would definitely recommend!!

It is a very short walk to a perfect beach. The property has everything you need to get all the stuff to the beach, they have chairs and umbrellas all you need is to bring your bathing suits. They even provide beach towels.

We stopped & got groceries at Jerry’s on Sanibel. But the Island store had a good supply of things we forgot and a very extensive variety of beer & wine. Just a two block walk to the store or T-shirt shop.

Larry was very easy to work with and easy to communicate with.

Everything was perfect for our stay in this charming house. It was clean, comfortable, well-furnished and well-equipped. The screened-in pool/patio was great. We grilled and ate poolside practically every night. There was more than enough beach equipment. The beach is a 5-minute walk away (great sunsets) as are shops and restaurants. Communication with Larry was easy. We hope to return one day.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Sun and Moon house! The house was just as described and was in a great location to walk to the beach and to all of the Captiva restaurants. We loved spending time in the pool each day after being at the beach. The property manager, Larry, was great to work with. We will definitely stay here again in the future.

What a beautiful house in a perfect location. Everything worked perfectly and all beach equipment was in great condition. Walk to everything but still quiet and peaceful. Will absolutely be back.

Had lots of beach equipment, etc. for kids/adults to enjoy. Plenty of towels, both beach and bath. Location was nice, however lane to beach path was a bit longer than anticipated. Overall, a very nice vacation!

Great house in the heart of Captiva
We've vacationed on Captiva a few times and have never stayed down near Andy Rosse lane before. This place is right in the heart, just a short walk to the island store (well stocked), restaurants (although we cooked and ate in a lot in the kitchen), and the beach. The house has everything you need to enjoy a week at the beach, including a great screened in pool. Given that it was August, having the pool to cool off in during the heat of the day was a must! Got to meet the owner, Larry, on the way out and he was super nice. Forgot to mention, upon arrival, he had left some nice string lights on and had some great music going that put us right into vacation mode after a long day of travel. Only downside was that we had some noisy neighbors for a few nights. Nothing you can do as all the houses in this neighborhood are fairly close...it didn't ruin our week one bit!
