Lakefront Paradise with Beautiful Views and an Easy Walk to the Village
About this cabin rental
Located in Big Bear, this lovely cabin for $297 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. Located within two to three blocks to the center of The Village and just a five-minute drive to the Snow Summit Ski Lifts. Everything you will need is within close proximity once you land at this resort-like vacation rental. In the summer you can swim, boat, fish and sight-see from your own backyard. In the winter you can go skiing (alpine or cross-country), snowboarding, sledding/tubing and enjoy the beautiful snow. This is lakefront at a fraction of the cost of renting lakefront. This beautiful lakefront condo is one of three units in a triplex. It was built in 1977 and the given name of the complex is: Lake Chalets. The name of our unit is: Lakefront Retreat. There are two buildings on the lot. The 1st building facing the street has garages and a unit above. The rear building has two units. Our unit is the top floor of the rear building, which has no shared walls and a huge deck with unobstructed lake views. The two-story condo feels much more like a private home than a condo; there are no hallways to get lost in and it is very private. It has cathedral ceilings and tudor details. This does not feel like a condo or a triplex; it is much more private and feels like a cabin. The lot is over 9000 square feet sitting 'on' the lake. There is plenty of room for activities while waiting for your next boat ride/water ski, your next big catch, snow play or simply watching the boats come and go from the nearby, adjacent marina. Bedding Configuration: The master BR has a queen-size platform bed featuring a down comforter with duvet plus down pillows with high thread count linens. The master features its own large closet with remote color 20-inch TV with Charter TV and DVD player. It also has end tables with lamps, alarm clock and antique armoire for storage of all additional linens, towels and blankets. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed with down comforter and duvet plus down pillows 'and' a matching bunk bed separated by an end table with lamp and alarm clock. A modest stackable washer/dryer is in the closet for easy storage and access. The third and fourth sleeping areas are dual lofts separated by one shared bathroom on the second floor. Each loft is open, with no walls, and has two single beds on each side sleeping four total in the loft area. There is a closet in the bathroom and a hanging rack in the hallway. The ceiling in this area is a bit lower so best for the kids in the family to enjoy or average height adults. Living Room: 40-inch Flat Screen TV with Charter, wireless internet (airport and ethernet), mac computer and DVD player. Enjoy a crackling fire in the rock fireplace on our comfortable ultra suede sectional couch. Deck: Just off the Kitchen sits the Deck, that includes views of tall pine trees and clear skies for stargazing or snowfall. Enjoy the sunset from the sit-down views, while melting away the stresses and strains of everyday life. Backyard: Oversized and huge, the backyard has room for any outdoor activity you can think of including, in the winter, making snow angels in the snow-covered backyard which lies just a few steps down from your own shared dock. Kitchen: Fully-equipped kitchen with travertine floors, dishes and settings for 12 persons, and all appliances - oven/range for big meals, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, coffee maker and a steak knife set for your steak dinners. With amazing views of the lake through the sliding windows above the sink, and all kitchen utensils, pots and pans - you'll be hard pressed to find a better-stocked kitchen. Parking: We have off-street parking for 2 cars maximum, (one garage parking spot and one driveway parking spot.) The cabin was located right on Big Bear Lake with very nice views. It was clean and well-equipped. The space was well-designed and better than the pictures.

This is a great little place. It’s such a great location that my hubby and I just do takeout and sit on the patio watch the view rather than sit in a restaurant. It’s right on the water and has views from the entire back of the unit. I love it so much. And Kari is a great host. I highly recommend it.

We loved the hojuse and location - Only problem we had is the people staying in the bottom unit had two big boxer dogs the freaked our dog out so we couldn’t go and use the yard. They let them just roam around the whole weekend in the yard without a leash.😡

This location had everything we needed to be comfortable during our stay. I met the property owner upon arrival, and he was very nice, helpful, explained everything we would need to know. I would definitely recommend to stay, and will likely book again in the future.

We've stayed at Big Bear Lakefront 6 times since 2016 and we look forward to returning again and again! Kari, is a wonderful host. Always quick to respond, very helpful and kind. The location is perfect! It's lakefront, quiet, walking distance to the Village and the marina/boat rentals. We absolutely love this place - perfect getaway that's become our annual family tradition. Thank you!

To begin, we never received any communication as to what we were supposed to do when we got to the cabin. Once there, the person that let us in, started demeaning the owner of the front property thus poking the bear creating an unnecessary confrontation and made us feel completely uncomfortable . He was a very nice man by the way and I hope he wins his grievance. Once inside we found dog pee on furniture and carpeting. The television areas were extremely dusty and we even found a fake finger nail near the dirty dining table. The home is just dated and really not that comfortable. The only good thing was the view and location. I went through Expedia in the hopes for reputable places but this a VRBO, a cancer to locals. Do better, because if I am paying an additional amount for cleanliness, it wasn’t it. They even have the nerve to ask you start the laundry for them.

My wife and I enjoyed ourselves immensely. The check in/out process was a breeze. Property well maintained and cozy. Beautiful view and nice quiet neighborhood. Will visit again.

We enjoyed the place so much that we had reserved for November

The condo is spacious but the carpet had a lot pee stains, cob webs and dead bugs on corners and fixtures. On the bathrooms there was hair stuck on the ceiling. Upstairs bathroom has a very dirty carpet. I doubt some bad sheets were clean because it smelled like people’s perfume.

The location is nice in the summer but the winter was horrible. Getting from the rental to the village took almost an hour. Not really ideal for a family vacation at least not in the winter. Way too busy and over priced.

Close to a lot of things to do. Inconvenience with getting to the garbage dump a few miles away to dispose of garbage.

While this property may have had a great location when the water level was higher, it is now so low that you can't even go into the lake. The quote from their listing is "In the summer you can swim, boat, fish and sight-see from your own backyard." Not true! The dock was in the dirt and the water you had to walk a few hundred yards to get to was so disgusting and shallow that you could not possibly swim or fish in it. We requested pictures of the lake level twice from the owner, and she said she didn't have any recent ones, but we could probably find some online!! What?? Don't you have a property manager? This place may be great for winter sports for 20-somethings who don't care about cleanliness, but it was definitely not great to celebrate a 50th birthday. The house was pretty dirty, and dusty with carpet that needs to be replaced or deep cleaned. All of the cabinets for linens were absolutely stuffed with unfolded blankets that I'm pretty sure were not washed because they were all just stuffed into the cabinets haphazardly. There were broken baby gates and dog gates thrown into the closet and the vacumn cleaner was left out in the middle of the master bedroom. The sheets were old, pilled and I was afraid to lay on the pillows. There were No protective covers on them to make sure when the pillow case slipped up that people weren't drooling all over them. Not sure the comforters on the beds were washed but hoping so! They didn't even bother to leave a new sponge in the kitchen. How much does a sponge cost?! When we got there I had to clean the deck just so we could sit outside. I understand pine needles fall, but there were so many spider/cob webs that I had to broom away before I even sat down. The deck was the only redeeming quality about the place, except for the partiers that were staying below us and were so obnxious at night drinking, and then in the morning having to listen to them and all of their stories while I was trying to have a peaceful cup of coffee looking out at the dirt and then the lake in the distance. There is also a guy that lives behind that was not very friendly or helpful about leaving his dog out to wander when our dogs are afraid of other dogs. He said, so what do you want me to do? ummmm. put your dog away! He finally did. The final kicker was having to take your own trash to the dump! Glad we had a truck and didn't have to shove it in the back of our car. Nasty! I would not recommend this place.

The property was great and has the best patio, overlooking the lake. The owners quickly responded with any questions we had. We look forward to staying there again.

Dry Lake View
Overall we had a great time and enjoyed the cabin location which is within walking distance to the village. The online photo used along with the description of the cabin is miss leading. The lake level is a good 100 yards from the rear of the cabin. There are no docks but there is a lot of mud. The cabin was “somewhat” clean however, there is a lot of dust, dander and debris in the carpeting which appears to be ancient. If you have allergies, this is not the place for you. My sons wife could hardly breath inside and had to sped her time on the deck. The carpet around the toilet upstairs has got to go. The owners are very nice and did provide a propane barbecue along with many games and several TV’s. My overall conclusion is, I would stay there again.

My trip was a very pleasant experience. My kids loved it. The back yard was very spacious, with beautiful views. Every thing was well-stocked as far as dishes, blankets, towels, and toilet paper. The village was close walking distance with plenty of restaurants. The bowling alley with arcade games was very close, short walk next block over. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. The only downfall was the lake was very low, and shallow. Also the dock that belonged to the property was submerged in water at the beginning of the entrance, witch maid it unexcessable. So fishing was a bummer. Other then that the place was amazing. It was a great value will be booking again soon.

From the property owners to the property manager this place was a gem. Good location cute little cabin setting on the water everything was perfect. Only issue we had was the furnace. The furnace stopped working and you had to press a small red button to get it to start again. We were there for 2 nights and it tripped twice. That would be the only recommendation that needed to be fixed . Everything else was great and hope to come back to this place again.

The view was amazing, even better than the pics. Also walking distance to the village and bowling alley. Upstairs loft a bit dark and would be ok for kids. Ed rooms needed a bit more lighting . Enjoyed the living space and kitchen very well stocked. We also used the BBQ on patio, which was great. Overall enjoyed the place, would stay again.
