The adjoining "butler-pantry" style kitchen is spacious, has a charming French-Caribbean style ambiance, and is fully equipped and easy to cook in. The interior lay-out of this cottage maximizes privacy with the bedrooms and bathrooms on one side and common living areas on the other. The cottage has two full bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Bedding in this vintage cottage includes a king size bed in the master bedroom, and a queen size bed in the other. The master bedroom boasts a beautiful rich wooden armoire, and French doors lead from the bedroom to a pretty outdoor sitting area for reading and lounging. For extra sleeping, the living room has a comfortable twin daybed. From the outside front, the cottage has charming curb appeal with a large beautiful Royal Poinciana tree and the Key West quintessential white picket fence, and of course the porch to sit and watch the world go by. Wonderful property and wonderful location. Spacious for Key West and we had everything we might need although we didn’t spend much time inside!

Great location. The only issue was that we could not find trash receptacles on the property.

Great location and cute cottage from afar...up close it needs some improvements. Front door difficult to lock and leave...so we exited out back. Living room ceiling needs patched and painted. Bathroom doors not very private. Living room furniture needs to be replaced as they're extremely outdated and uncomfortable and one of the chairs is broke. But, overall we enjoyed the pool, comfortable beds, and location.

The house is located centrally just off Duval street, near to bars, ice cream and not to far to walk down Duval street to get to other restaurants etc. The pool is small but functional and the kitchen had everything we needed and a nice porch in the the front, to sit on and look at people walking by (mainly on Duval street).

The location is great, easy bus access for the Duval loop bus. You can walk to most anything you would want to see. The house was clean, the beds were comfy. It appeared there had been some water damage to the ceiling. Paint was peeling and flakes falling to the floor. There had been some construction done and the demo material was still in the area of the pool. So work is being done to make improvements. The Pool is actually an oversized hot tub not really a pool. Not that it’s a bad thing! The hot tub is great after long walks and sore bodies. As for noise. We slept well with no disturbance the house is very quiet.

cute house, well equipped and clean...
wish it was a little brighter inside (windows on one side had mostly closed outside shutters) truck traffic was a little loud but not totally unexpected
thanks for a nice stay

This is a quote from a text I sent to Key West Rentals on the last day of our trip. "Whoever used your grill last never turned off the gas. Disappointing! We'd planned on grilling tonight. I'm going to be very challenged to give your operation a good review. I don't know what it means to you to spend as much money as we did for a 5 night stay but it means alot to us. Key West been fun but disappointing. Your front desk people are very rude when asked for help, the pool area leaves alot to be desired with all the plants around the pool dead or dying (picture on their website is very misleading! One of the reasons we decided on this property!), the grill is useless with no gas, the dishwasher needs to be replaced or repaired and your supply of essentials like toilet paper needs attention! I will be sending this same message to VRBO so they realize who they represent! Very disappointing!!" I suspect this review will not be shown on VRBO's website since it is negative and that's a shame! Caribbean Cottage needs to be overhauled to make it acceptable in our opinion.

We’ve rented many
homes in KW, but never through this realtor.
The furnishings were really nice, and the house was very comfortable. Everything was in working order.
The pool was beautiful. My only concern was a certain iguana that visited us on most afternoons.

Cute little home on the "quiet" end of duval street, everything we needed was provided.

We had a great stay at this house. Its location is perfect! This is our second time staying in this house. We stayed here 11 years ago when our son was 3 and again when he was 14! The pool is a perfect dip! The living room furniture needs to be upgraded. We had an issue with the house and the folks at Vacation Homes of Key West were on the spot assisting us. We loved the ice cream shop and the wine shop next door is an added bonus to grab a bottle of wine and sit on the patio and enjoy the evening. You can rent bikes right across the street! We loved riding all over Key West! This trip was very different than when our son was 3 but so enjoyable. I recommend this house and the property managers at Vacation Homes of Key West.

Great location close to all of the things the girls wanted to see. House has everything needed. Bring your personal items and groceries and you're ready to go.

From the moment we walked in, we knew this was the spot. Clean, warm and cozy. Comfortable beds, big shower, quiet area for lounging around a quiet pool. We chose to grill and eat in a few nights. Evrything we needed was there. Great central location. Nice and quiet end of Duval, with plenty of stores and shops just a stroll away. Roughly one mile from the Southernmost point. We will be back

What a great location, being about 100 feet off Upper Duval. The cottage was very clean and stocked with whatever we needed. The plunge pool was a great addition, although quite warm when it's already 80+ degrees outside. A few things need updated but all in all, we would certainly stay here again! You absolutely cannot beat the location!

Cozy cottage off Duval/Virginia
Ideal property for a couple. Comfortable beds, plentiful resort quality linens and towels, larger interior than appearance from street. Nice pool and outside space/patio. Close to Southernmost resort and the best bathing beach. Previous guests left some beach chairs (much appreciated)
Wished for a better equipped kitchen and starter cleaning supplies(vacuum cleaner which was immediately supplied when requested.)
Would return again.

Location! Location! Location!
We tried to book waterfront properties. This was our second choice but so happy it we stayed here. Right off Duval at the quiet end of the street it was perfect for walking to restaurants and sites. We had a wonderful time and will recommend this property!

Stay was amazing. Had such a great time here for our wedding. Only bad thing we were told we could stay at the property after check out due to our flight being changed by the airline. Original check out was 10 am and the housekeeper came at 1005 am exactly. So we had to last min finish packing our things. And find someplace to go for 3 hours. Also the lights outside did not work and they were not specific about where to place the trash. Communication was the biggest problem.

This was our tenth year in KW for the month of Feb. Unfortunately, not one of the better ones. The house would probably be ok for a shorter visit - say a week. Its location is good - right off Duval. However. It’s against an ice cream store that closes late and makes noise. At 1:30 am, they dump glass garbage and the noise is very loud. (During the day also) There are supply trucks out front constantly which often were noisy, especially the semi trucks. The porch was not a good place to sit, The house itself is very small; however, it does hold to the fact that it’s old - no doors inside, just levered things or long curtains in the kitchen! Not a lot of light since many windows have those tropical covers. As I said, it’s ok for a short stay and it’s definitely not at the bottom of the price range.

Great get away
Wonderful location to enjoy a long weekend. This house makes you feel instantly on vacation when you walk in the door. Having a pool added to the relaxed atmosphere. We would recommend this place to anyone.

Cute house, perfect location. Pictures need to be updated.
The house is adorable and in a great location right off of Duval street. The decor was unique and fit the description The pictures however need to be updated. The front of the house is very overgrown and you can’t see the front porch from the street. The “master” Bedroom in the pic with the door to the porch is a queen bed and the porch does not look like the pic in the listing. The front Bedroom has the king bed and it appears that may be the master bedroom because of the proximity to the bigger bathroom. The second bathroom shower barely has enough room to move. The hair dryer at the house was broken so we had to buy a new one and left it at the house for the next guests. Overall it was a nice visit to Key West and we loved the house location. But we likely wouldn’t pick this property again.

Awesome stay in Key West!
My family of four stayed at this location during the week of July 23 and had a wonderful experience! The property was very clean, fully furnished, wonderfully priced and located just off Duvall Street.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not only recommend it for others but would gladly stay there again!

Great Spot for the week
Great spot- great location. Would stay here again. Only complaint of mine- the main living room dining room and kitchen area have one AC window unit to keep them cool. This is not enough in the summer months. There is another window in the living room that could have an AC unit in it. I think that would have made the living area more comfortable.
Overall- the place was great.

Well Kept Cottage in Perfect Key West Location
If you are interested in Duval Street and want the convenience of walking or biking to the sites and to dinner, then this place is perfect. It's a two bedroom two bath house with a nice size plunge pool. Everything you need is included, from the corkscrew to a gas grill. Once we arrived and parked our car, it did not move for a week. The off-street parking handled my large pickup truck that was used to ferry bicycles from our home. The location of the house is both the upside and downside....close to most Key West sites, but also in a very busy loading zone for nearby businesses. By warned, this city is not the place to come for peace and quite...from the roosters roaming the streets (and lots of them), to delivery trucks, street sweepers, police, etc there is activity and noise from dawn to dusk. With that said, we will be back. The Caribbean cottage was convenient and hassle free.

Great Location & Well Maintained Property with Lots of Charm
The house id basically on Duval Street. Just one structure away and the house is on the quieter side of the street near the southern most point. It was great to be able to walk to just about everything we wanted to do.
The house, pool, and property are well maintained and clean. We had a great time.
The only critique is that the AC in the main living area was not strong enough to cool down the house in the August heat. We weren't looking for a cold house but it stayed around 80 degrees until 2 AM or so. This is probably not a problem at all during more temperate times of the year.
We'd love to rent this house again!

Perfectly Located Key West Cottage!
My wife and I loved the quaint Caribbean Cottage! It was perfectly located right off of busy Duval Street, but felt quite private, including the back yard pool area. The cottage had everything we needed, including a washer/dryer, which we used a lot. It was nice to be able to pack light. The cottage was also stocked with various essentials, which we appreciated. The outside temps were hot, but the a/c inside kept us very comfortable. Also, our contact at Vacation Homes of Key West (Paige Graham) was extremely helpful, expeditiously answering our questions before and during our visit. We highly recommend the Caribbean Cottage!

A Tired KW Cottage
We have been regulars to KW for over 20 years and have stayed in hotels, condo and over the past 7 years in self-contained cottages/houses. Our review reflects our experiences and our expectations.
The sign up process was tortured, as a sync between VRBO and the rental agency was not working. it took a few emails and a call to get it right.
We chose this cottage because of its location - near Grand Vin, the end of Duval and the pool. Upon arriving it is important to note the front gate and the height of the first step up to the gate - for any person with a challenge with the first step, it can present a challenge for elders and those who short.
The interior is classic cottage but it seems that the layout and furniture spoke to feel that no one lived there. In most rooms there was only one switch for lighting - living room and kitchen for example. For example only one overhead light in the kitchen and provided no sense of purpose for what ever activity might occur in that room.
The first night was interesting - leaving the light on in a bathroom was the only option to see if you arose during the night - BEWARE however that the landings between almost all rooms are significantly higher than the rooms you are entering or leaving - a few stubbed toes - but nonetheless dangerous for young and old.
We loved the privacy, location and pool. Overall the three stars is adequate - there are much better options for the price and a better experience.
