About this house rental
Rustic post and beam home rich with character. Five bedrooms and 2 full bath 2200 s/f sleeps up to 13. Cozy wood stove for heat with propane backup; a/c. Please be aware when you are booking this property that the two woodstoves are the primary source of heat for the home. The propane is merely a backup system and likely won't provide you the comfort you are looking for when used alone. House enjoys a large yard and mature woodland surroundings. Relax on covered porch or large shaded deck and enjoy the biodiversity of your secluded surroundings. Five minutes to Liberty Resorts skiing and golf; 15 minutes to Gettysburg. Property features artwork from various local renowned artists. Meander through the woods on our boardwalk to find an additional outbuilding equipped with a game room and sleeping quarters. Woodstoves are wonderful for ambiance and warmth, but please be aware when you are booking this property that the two woodstoves are the primary source of heat for the home. The propane is merely a backup system and likely won't provide you the comfort you are looking for when used alone. This year, we added a gameroom (detached building with access to home by a boardwalk) with additional sleeping quarters. Gameroom is equipped with board games, puzzles, pool table, ping pong table and poker table and a double bed and queen bed as well as a small bar area. The hot tub is available at additional fee. If you are not a nature lover and would be upset by the occasional visitation of a mouse or spider, then I recommend looking elsewhere. We strive to keep the home critter free at all times, but this is a rustic home in the woods. There are no guarantees.

The house is wonderful! It is so peaceful and secluded, a perfect getaway! The pictures don't do this house justice! Thank you for stocking the house so well with everything we could have possibly needed! We'll be back!

Great house in the middle of "nowhere". I say that because when you are at this property you genuinely FEEL like you are in the middle of nowhere. But that's FAR from the truth. Anything you want can we gotten with a quick ride or search on your phone. Game Room was a big hit and the fire pit was so peaceful. The pictures do NOT do the property justice, new fixtures in the bathrooms and the scenes you get to take in every single morning and night are worth the price on their own. The cabin offers everything you need to be both disconnected but not out of reach if you follow.Bottom line for me and the group I went with was that this place was a 10 of 10 and each of us would return no matter the group or reason. WELL WELL WORTH IT!!!

Very quiet location. Probably great for big family get togethers. It was just my husband and I staying, so we took the primary room downstairs. Mattress was comfortable but the frame is on wheels so it moved around too much when trying to get comfortable, and was noisy. I think the extra cost of the hot tub each night is ridiculous, but that’s my own opinion. It should be included in the nightly price. Outdoor seating area needs some TLC as well. Also TVs need upgrading. Large screen TVs are inexpensive nowadays, so I was surprised that they were all so small. Watching a movie on a rainy evening was difficult with the small screen size. Host was responsive. House was clean. So a few minor updates and it would have been a great location to return to.
