Beautiful view of the Cathedral.
Not much space around the bed.

Staff were very accommodating and the building was generally very clean. The hotel overlooks the cathedral which is a lovely backdrop and was a pleasure to open the curtain to in the morning.
The property is very very noisy! from extremely loud plumbing to creaking from the floors, neighbours chatter and staff running around, you can hear everything in this hotel. Yes, this hotel is above a pub, and therefore I considered there would be some noise but assumed this would be a main issue on the weekends when pubs are bound to get busy and as I was staying during the week wouldn’t be too bad. Boy was I wrong! The music went on until 11pm and commotion and activity continued until 12 at least. I did have to sleep with earplugs for the entire stay. However, it’s important to mention that I was only the floor above the pub so I would bare this in mind when booking. My room was very awkwardly arranged and clearly needed the decor updating.

I was pleasantly surprised to find myself upgraded to the Executive Double Room upon arrival, a delightful bonus to my original booking of a standard Double Room. The room exceeded expectations, boasting ample space, a very comfortable double bed, and a cozy seating area complete with a sofa and chair. The provision of basic tea and coffee making facilities added a homely touch.
The hotel's prime location proved to be a highlight, situated adjacent to The Old Wellington and Sinclair’s Oyster Bar (two bustling pubs) and within arm's reach of the Arndale shopping mall. The vibrant atmosphere downstairs, with its own pub, added to the overall charm of the stay.
A highlight of my experience was the breakfast buffet, included in my stay, which offered a satisfying start to each day. I wholeheartedly recommend indulging in this offering.
Above all, the standout feature of my stay was the exceptional service provided by the staff, notably Adele, the receptionist with the pink hair. Her warmth and helpfulness made a lasting impression, enhancing the overall enjoyment of my stay.
For those concerned about potential noise from the neighbouring pubs, while it did get lively as it was Bank Holiday Weekend, the expected vibrancy didn't disrupt my stay, as the pubs closed at midnight and 11 pm on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Couldn’t complain about anything.

The hotel has an excellent location, 5 minutes walk from Machester Victoria station and 20 minutes walk from Manchester Picadilly station, which makes it an excellent place to spend a night while travelling to some other place. The room was nice and comfortable. We would specially like to mention the staff, which is incredibly friendly and helpful and they gave us some wonderful tips for museums.
Everything was great.

Location - very central
Breakfast - good English breakfast (although there were not other options really)
Room view of the cathedral
The bedroom was very tiny and the bathroom as well (too much, almost claustrophobic)
Using water (either from the sink or the toilet flush) made a very loud noise
The bed was not comfortable

The food was good, the staff were friendly, good location.
The staff member Adele, was very helpful on the phone line when I needed alterations made to the booking.
Our room had iron burns and stains on the carpet, the paint on the walls was pealing. On our second night the towels hadn't been replaced and bedsheets weren't changed. The walls had a lot of black marks on them.

Very impressed. Beautiful room with a window and very clean. All staff went above and beyond with all enquiries and questions.
Breakfast was fresh and tasty. A must stay for Manchester.
Just wanted to say a thankyou to all the check in staff,bar/Breakfast staff and house keeping for making a solo guest feel so welcome.
10 out of 10.
Will be staying here again for sure.
The place is very warm but you can turn off the heaters if you want.

Clean, comfortable room, lovely breakfast, helpful staff.
Shower pressure a bit feeble but not unexpected in a historic building

Location is perfect, right next to the Arndale.
Not clean - mates room hadn’t even been hoovered. Shower is like a trickle of water, could urinate faster. Bed was super uncomfortable, breakfast was cold and looked anaemic.

The property was not as expected. Walls were dirty, floors were dirty. Showers were small. The tradesman used to renovate were not professionals. Not happy with the stay.
Had to change rooms because the original room was disgusting. Not hoovered. Stains on the bedding. Damp. Broken door. Cheap breakfast.

Very convenient location.Very near Manchester Victoria and few minutes walk to the city centre.Staff were all friendly. My room was in a corner in the 2nd floor(or 3rd.I’m not sure) so it was quiet even if there was a bar downstairs.Bed was very comfortable.Great complimentary breakfast too.
Slightly bothered by the creaking noise of the floors when you walk but understandable as it’s an old building.Otherwise,I have no other concerns.

The atmosphere was lovely. Considering there is a busy bar downstairs the rooms were quiet and we had a comfortable stay -beds were comfy.
We had dinner there the first evening and the food was very nice and the menu was very reasonably priced considering the city location . Staff were friendly and nice
Bathroom let down the room. Lack of hand towel
Or floor mat/towel and no hooks for hanging towel in the room despite adequate space to do so. The toilet was also a-bit of a squeeze if you have long legs /large framed. Needs updating/refresh in terms of paint and signs of wear and tear
Would be nice to have a decaf tea option but that’s just me been picky -overall the stay was very good and we will be back I am sure 😊

The location is good and. Breakfast included
The room was tiny. The shower room was inadequate. The basin was literally over the toilet. Only one bedside table. No room to make tea or coffee

The location of the property was amazing, it couldn’t have been more central. Also the staff were very warm and accommodating to all our questions and needs.
There was a loud noise with bottle collections in the morning, but no other complaints everything was perfect.

Very helpful and polite staff.
The hotel has clearly had a recent renovation, as you can still smell the fresh paint (which isn't necessarily a problem), but there are paint splatters and stains everywhere on the floors, and sometimes on the furniture too - or at least the furniture there. Lacking basic things like a toilet brush, or anywhere in the bathroom to place amenities. Hotel also doesn't include any basic amenities other than a bar or soap.

Close to the cathedral, the bed was comfortable, they gave me an upgrade on the day so I ended up with a bigger room, cathedral views, breakfast was nice, the staff were lovely.
You had to keep pressing the button in the shower to get water?? And No hairdryer.

Room a little tired, furniture needs updating. Bathroom was freezing as window wouldn’t shut properly.

The staff were really helpful, we were slightly early for check-in and they accommodated us with ease. Very friendly to my 5 year old son, included him in conversations and asked about his favourite toy. Very family friendly.
The shower pressure could do with looking at. It's an old building so I suppose it's to be expected.

Not far from train station. Great location to amenities and Christmas market was on and it was just kinda outside the doorstep. Staff were really polite and really helpful.
The shower was like being at swimming baths, no temperature control and you have to press a button and the water only lasts for a limited time. It was also quoted that avocado was on the menu for breakfast buffet but couldn’t find it and was no one around to ask.
