This cabin is very well maintained and has everything you need! It is located in the hills above Bear Mountain and is walkable to the South Shore hiking trail network. It has great views to the ski slopes! The only downside is that the driveway slopes down from the street at a strange angle and is a bit steep. We were there in the fall so snow/ice was not a concern for us (but could be if you are coming in the winter).

Had a nice stay in this home. Nice and quiet location. Driveway and front entrance was a little on the steep side to get into home, especially with elderly folk. Jacuzzi and some kitchen drawers could be cleaner. Overall good stay.

My family of 5 really enjoyed our stay. Home was just as it's seen in pictures. It felt like home as soon as we stepped inside. The driveway is a little steep. This was a surprise since there was no picture of the driveway. Loved that it was just minutes from town. Very quiet neighborhood. Saw a couple deer in the evening. Definitely will stay again.

The place was great for us. We are a family of four and had a great time skiing each day. We walked with our gear in hand to the slopes. I would suggest getting a locker at Bear Mountain if you intend to go multiple days so you don’t have to lug your stuff back and forth. They were all out for us so we just carried everything.
My only complaint is that the driveway wasn’t as clear as I would have liked and I had to really do a number on the ice on the decline to get my van out. For that reason I only left once to go to the store.
That said, the cabin had everything else we needed.

Love the neighborhood for walks with the dogs, proximity to bear mtn skiin is great, and sledding on the side of the house was a blast. Great cabin for a small family to have some fun in the snow

The cabin was very nice and clean. It said I can park up to three cars but I’m not quite sure if that was really possible unless all three cars are all compact cars. It wasn’t that close to the ski resort. My kids were all grown so we walked and back with ski gears but kids under 13 would not be able walk back and forth. Enjoyed hot tube very much.

The home was capable of being a 5 star home, yet it could have been cleaner, simpler check in process (had to check in at local office), and customer service was average.

We had a great time at this cabin. It was the perfect spot for our family of four to enjoy Big Bear. We have stayed at a few places in the area and we love the Moonridge neighborhood. The view in the mornings with our coffee and the evening from the hot tub with a glass of wine made the trip worth the track up the mountain.
We plan on staying there again.

(our stay was 2.8.21- 2.10.21) I have never had an issue before with my rentals until this one which is booked through big. bear destinations. I will start with the issues. For check in you have to go their office first before you can go to your rental. I get to our cabin and there is poop bags on the entrance of the cabin. We get inside and the first thing we check to see if it was working was the hot spa and of course it was not. I texted them to let them know and instead of being apologetic they were like" we texted you to let you know." They literally texted me at 8 AM the day of my arrival. The fridge handles were being held by tape, they covered a damaged carpet area with a small rug. I had to re clean dishes because they were still dirty. Funny because they claim to hire cleaning services that work for high end hotels and they claim to re check their work yet they missed all of this?? ....The rug smelled like pee and my dog was smelling everywhere because of it. I have been to other rentals that allow dogs and never has my dog been that interested in the carpet. For the amount of money they ask for and what is actually being cleaned and taken care of, this place is not worth it. When I called them, they tried to blame the people who stayed prior to my stay. I was like oh what a coincidence and then ranted off how the parts to fix the spa come from Texas and who knows where so they can't fix it fast, blah blah blah. Never did they apologize for the inconvenience or anything they just kept trying to cover their backs. Also the kids room only has a dvd player, no cable. The good things: The view is great, check out was easy, foosball table was a hit. They had plates, silverware, glasses, the bare necessities available. Though I have been to other cheaper places that offered a lot more like coffee, shampoo and soap (hint hint Big bear Destination!). Point being this place was a bit disappointing, it will be the first and last time we get a place from Big Bear Destination and hope things get fixed for the people who stay there in the future.

We arrived to a very clean, well-stocked cabin (I am very picky about cleanliness). The view is spectacular! We went in the Fall so that we could experience the leaves changing colors. There was beauty all around us. We walked to the trailhead (5 min walk) and hit the trails. We hiked and biked the single track and took our jeep on the fire road. Everywhere you look is another photo op! We got lots of those! The cabin is homey and beautifully decorated. (It looks just like the pics!) We will definitely be back!! Thank you!!!

Cute, clean, but stuffy !
Found the listing on VRBO and selected dates to stay for approx four nights/five days, check in at 4pm and check out at 10am.
When selecting the cabin and the dates, there was trouble securing the dates selected and had to contact customer service for help/support. Successfully contacted by destination big bear and was able to secure the cabin for the dates selected. Easy process and was able to do everything online after.
Destination big bear allowed me and my party to check in via phone and skip visiting office to pick up any key or codes which was very convenient.
The location of the cabin is moonridge bear mountain? Near the bear mountain resort. The cabin was quiet and tucked away into the mountain. The cabin was cute, looked cozy, and looked big from the street. The parking was distasteful as you have to park in a narrow driveway, not allowing whoever parked first to exit as they please.
Upon entering the cabin, the cabin was open, cozy, and clean. The temperature inside the cabin was stuffy and was irritable. In attempts to cool the cabin down, I lowered the temp on a thermostat inside the cabin, assuming it was an AC thermostat, but didn’t have any luck. The cabin temp read 87° when entering. By the end of the first night it had only dropped to 85°. We had to open all the windows and leave the doors open to attempt to cool the cabin. We were grateful enough to find one box fan inside a closet and used it to bring in cool air that had little to no effect. All ceiling fans remained on for the duration of our stay.
When finally turning in for the night on the first night, a member of my party discovered noticeable stains of an unknown substance within the bed sheets. No other bedding was supplied within the cabin and had to be requested for through destination big bear’s communication line.
The rest of the cabin appeared to be clean and well maintained. The sliding door that opened to the deck was troublesome to work with but was manageable.
The kitchen was fully stocked with equipment to help us cook through our stay.
The restrooms were clean and furnished with necessary towels including hand soap and toilet paper.
The entertainment system was equipped with a hd smart tv that had various options to choose from that included amazon, hbo, netflix , etc but also included published Dvd/movies .
The view from the deck was beautiful. You overlook most of the trees in the area.
Jacuzzi was a plus and was hot!

Nice cabin for a family ski getaway!
Clean and comfortable for a family of five (+) with plenty of room to spread out! Well stocked kitchen, terrific balcony with BBQ & hot tub, foosball table was a fun bonus for the kids! One minute drive to the base of Bear Mtn Resort.
There were a few areas of noticeable wear and tear, (a broken tile in the kitchen and a couple of worn down patches of carpeting), but neither were a deal breaker.
Very easy to talk to and work with the management company. We would definitely stay here again, great value for the price!

Great get away!
Loved our stay at the Black Diamond Lodge. The house was super comfy, in a great location and had good amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and walking up to sled and hike up the street as well as how close the ski hill was. The DJ on Friday at Bear Mountain Ski Resort was pretty loud and distracting, but other than that, pretty perfect!
