The absolute perfect location if you want a quiet and relaxing home base to branch out to all other locations on the island. Everything inside the house was modern and clean. The highlight was the view from the living room. We did not turn on the TV once during our stay. We didn't need to because we had the best show right through the back windows. Numerous bald eagles and deer, and we loved just watching the tide go in and out of the private cove below. For you whale fans, I recommend joining a Facebook page "Whale Sightings in the San Juan Islands." You will get updates of any whales in the area, and the direction they are going. We were able to use the information and see a pod of orca's swim right by the Cattle Point Lighthouse! If you want the perfect launching pad for all that San Juan Island has to offer, this is the spot. Just book it.

The cottage was very clean and looked newly redone. The kitchen had everything we needed to have meals there. The view was amazing and it was so quiet we slept really well. We’d definitely book here again and recommend it. It’s about a 15 minute drive to town so need a car but was an easy drive.

Wonderful stay on San Juan Island. The property is quite special in many ways. This was our base camp for outings throughout 8 days. The cabin is well equipped and very comfortable. Modern design and amenities. The view of the cove and Haro Strait is stunning. Lots of kayaking right from the beach into nearby waterways. Access, communication, and overall experience was excellent— highly recommend Therese and Steve’s place, you will not be disappointed!

I liked the property. I have always lived inland and in low rainfall areas. An island in a rainy area is a big change and welcome get away. I enjoyed every day. I like small towns and hiking in wooded areas.

This is hands down the cleanest VRBO we have ever stayed in! The accommodations were top of the line and the hosts thought of everything. We were mesmerized by the amazing view and the quiet privacy. We will be back!

We had a lovely time in this sweet little cottage. The nearly private little cove was gorgeous and filled with wildlife and it was wonderful to go down and watch the sun set in the evenings. The house itself was equipped with just about anything I could imagine needing and had a better prepared kitchen for cooking than many rentals I've stayed at. It was a short hop into downtown Friday Harbor and even quicker to get to Lime Kiln park and other wonderful hiking and viewing locations. We had a wonderful time and hope to get back there during orca season sometime!

What a lovely cottage. Clean and a wonderful kitchen. We enjoyed watching a river otter, Great Blue herons, kingfishers and various other birds. A wonderful place to relax.

Wow. The pictures absolutely don’t do this place justice. We were able to watch a whole pod of whales swim by from the bay window which made this place even more magical. It’s quiet and quaint. Lots of supplies to use in the kitchen. Nice washer and dryer in the bathroom. The bed is definitely soft so if you’re someone who is sensitive to that after a night or two, heads up. A true delight of a place that was easy to get to and also easy to get to other places on the island and a perfect place to relax in San Juan Island. Also they have a pair of excellent binoculars!

Cute, clean, comfortable, cozy, close to town cottage. Owners responsive and good communication. Ferries can be challenging but don't let it discourage a visit.

Five stars are definitely not enough! This cottage was beautiful, clean and in the perfect location to enjoy the Island. We enjoyed our evenings on the patio watching eagles, seals and fox. It was truly magical.

This was our second stay at the cottage and like the first, it did not disappoint. Everything about the locale and living space is top-shelf. Highly recommend this property! We are active folk who enjoyed lovely kayak paddles and time out in our inflatable. Easy entry/exit for both types of watercraft. Biking and hiking available, too. The cabin itself couldn’t be better or more tastefully furnished. May your stay here be as delightful as ours was!!!

This property is amazing. I could sit on the patio and stare out at the bay for hours, and I did. We appreciate the cleanliness of the home and it is well stocked with everything you need. Each visit we stay a day longer because we cannot get enough. I can not wait to return. Thank you for sharing this lovely home with us!

This was our second time to stay here and it was absolutely glorious. It’s so peaceful, and the property is situated so that all you can see is natural beauty. We brought our paddleboards again- the little cove is the perfect place for them. We were so lucky to get to see JPod twice during our brief stay- once while we were on our paddleboards! It’s absolutely the perfect get away!

Another idyllic stay. How wonderful to have a go-to haven like this when we need a San Juan Island escape. In fact, its hard to leave the premises to enjoy all that the island offers when you have so much to enjoy right here at the cabin -- from the comfy and well provisioned rooms and ever-changing views of the cove to taking advantage of this great kitchen and grill to prepare island provisions. This is one of the nicest rental properties that my family has ever stayed in. To be sure, it is probably best as a rental for a couple, as there is only one bedroom and a pull out in the living room. We knew this going into things and were happy to trade the space for the million dollar views and privacy of the beach and outdoor spaces. Very well appointed, nice appliances, immaculate property. We loved it!

This San Juan Island waterfront property is beyond believable. The cottage is extremely well-appointed and one feels instantly at home. Everything was of “top shelf” quality. We will be back!

This cabin is halfway between Friday Harbor and Lime Kiln lighthouse. It's a quiet place that is compact but has everything you need (except a hot tub, which would be amazing!). The kitchen is well appointed and everything is new-ish. We wish we would have stayed longer!

A million Thank Yous to our Fabulous Hosts! ...we've been coming to the SJI for some time now...always staying on the Westside (as we're both whale enthusiasts)... Steve & Therese have created such a special hideaway with every thoughtful amenity imaginable! There is absolutely nothing one could request that S & T haven't already thought of (other than to hope they would be lucky enough to return again)... From the moment you drive up, everything is immaculate and amazingly thought-through, from the ease of parking, a gorgeous deck with chaises, extra chairs, a wonderful dining table & umbrella to entering a unique and beautiful space! All eyes are drawn to the immense windows looking out onto a gorgeous scene of water as far as one can see, surrounded by huge trees and a gorgeous grassy knoll leading down to the water...The full kitchen is stocked down to an array of terrific spices, condiments, COFFEE, baking supplies…unbelievable! The cottage is ADORABLE and furnished with comfortable seating, a great bed & lovely linens. We will certainly be returning and just wanted to let you know how much we appreciate your generosity!
