Beutiful location, lovely staff, made to feel very welcome.
The room we stayed in needed shower & carpet replaced,
kettle was rusty inside. Check-in the front door was locked, so we had to walk around the main building and knocked on the windows to find a member of staff to let us in.

The bar area was lovely and clean , the staff were so friendly and do any thing for you . The atmosphere was lovely in the bar . The location was great near shops if you needed anything.
We were there for a wedding, a lot of guests were booked in there . Wen member of staff on in the kitchen for breakfast the morning of the wedding. We were eating over an hour for food . Half of us had to leave without breakfast as we would have missed the wedding . The rooms are definitely not worth the money we paid . Carpets are so old and dirty beds are so small . And cobwebs all over the room with giant spiders . I couldn’t sleep as one was crawling on my bed . Showers filled the whole bathroom with water didn’t drain properly. Would not stay here again for the price of the room and no breakfast. Drinks at the bar was very expensive as well . My son described his room as being in jail ! Also we got there for check in time at 3 than to be told bar wasn’t open for food or a drink . After a 4 hour drive to get there he told us we had to go to the next town for a drink and food!!!

Staff where accommodating and polite
Was too remote for our liking

Amazing staff, gorgeous breakfast, lovely rooms and fab location.
The owners went above and beyond and always there to lend a hand. Would definitely come back.
The only problem I had was that my room was above the kitchen extractor fan which when In Use was very noisy and the smells came into my room so had the keep the window closed on a hot day so was a bit warm. Also curtains could do with changing to match the freshly decorated room.

Lovely accomodation, very friendly owners who have only been there 3 months. Excellent breakfast cooked to order! Quit location, outside chairs and tables. Ample free parking. Great place to explore the Cotswolds!

Very clean, comfortable and well equipped room for an overnight stay. Comfy bed. Good breakfast. Friendly staff.
Too light in the morning - a blackout blind would have been very welcome!

Couldnt fault anything, location, service. cleanliness, food. Highly recommended

Improved since last year’s visit. The grounds are looking cheerful with pansies in the planters, the grass was mown, buildings have been spruced up. The bed was very comfortable. The surroundings are beautiful, right next to a field and the church, birds singing everywhere.
Sadly, in common with many businesses, the management are having trouble finding staff which meant that the bar was either not open or closing early. No longer has draught beer as they found they weren’t selling enough (come on people of Black Bourton, use your local!). I still don’t care for paying for my stay four days before I arrive!

Breakfast was excellent quality. Fresh produce and cooked to order.
Dinner was poor. Choice of fish and chips and chicken and chips. That’s it not the best and expected a better meal.

The young girl working in the mornings for breakfast was what made this stay. She was so friendly and helpful. Happy to offer suggestions and advice and had brilliant customer experience
No dinner facilities.

Lovely bar and dining area. Very comfortable and clean. Exterior of buildings were well kept and pleasing to look at. A lovely village feeling
We would suggest a coat hook in the room for jackets

Lovely hosts both made us feel very welcome. Room was generous and very clean. Having only taken over recently they went the extra mile with service and were great with people. Breakfast was lush. Look forward to returning soon when the restaurant will be up and running. Staff could not do enough to please. Lovely couple wish them all the best with this new venture. We will be back.
Nothing to dislike.

This was our second visit & I had requested a ground floor room when booking, a few days before our arrival the hotel notified me to confirm our room was on the ground floor, a nice touch! Nice clean hotel friendly staff, spotless bedding & super towels plus 2 bottles of water & tea/coffee making facilities, added bonus the location is ideal for meeting up with our family.
unfortunately the light in the bathroom which I understand is on a motion sensor, did nothing but go on & off all night, which I reported in the morning.

Could offer a bigger dinner menu , we had to go to a different restaurant for dinner

Nice ckean room...staff were fruendly ..very good breakfast.
The fact of No evening food service. Which makes you have to go searching for dinner. After a long day out, dinner at the Vines would be so much more convienient.

Rooms were ok (booked two as son stayed too) although we were not told which was the largest.
Staff pleasant quite attentive when needed to be .
It would have been nice to be alerted that they only do pizzas (which were not prepared in the premises) and not evening meals…. when we left the pizzas were on the bar piled up for that night and future nights.
The showers were not very easy to control and the lack of door resulted in the floor being like a swimming pool.
Not enough towels or pillows

Good location, comfortable bed and lovely breakfasts
Evening meal very disappointing, also didn't realise the room would be outside of the building, wouldn't fancy having to get to breakfast in the rain, also the TV was very unpredictable at times

The position
Dated needs bathroom refurbishment one hand towel between 2 You advertise a fully functional restaurant no food don’t stay here had to move rooms as the heating wasn’t working cancelled the second night through Booking.com we were here for a family wedding completely ruined it for us as left early to go home yet another 4 hour drive , booked a meal for 4 in the restaurant prior to arrival they took the booking knowing there was no restaurant open. My husband is diabetic so food is important I wish I had seen the Trip advisor reviews before I booked

not much.
Mediocre accommodation. The PIR in the bathroom didn’t work so it clicked on and off all night. Had barely any sleep.
The breakfast wasn’t good. My beans were cold. Sent it back and they were still cold when they came back. The manager said he would cook our breakfast the next day but the same thing happened again.
The young people working there were pleasant but inexperienced and had obviously not been trained properly so it is not their fault. They tried their best. The manager seemed to be running around doing everything so it was very chaotic
Unfortunately would not recommend
