RVA offers Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort. Located beach front on beautiful Longboat Key, this resort offers all the amenities of a large hotel with the privacy and seclusion that has Silver Sands guests returning each year. Relax on our private beach, walk on our soft white sand, take a dip in our heated beachside pool, or enjoy a complimentary chaise lounge and beach umbrella while breathing in the fresh salt-water air. Practice your golf game on our putting green or relax on our beautiful beach with your favorite novel. Wireless Internet access is available in the privacy of your individual unit, at the garden area or on the pool deck. Limited Membership Privileges: Guests of Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort #257 will have temporary membership privileges at Cedars Tennis Resort located at 645 Cedars Court on Longboat Key. The limited temporary membership allows the guest access to fully-lit Har-Tru tennis and pickleball courts (after 1 p.m. daily and subject to availability), community bicycles, fishing pier and Jr. Olympic heated swimming pool. The guest will also have access to the community fitness center. Accommodations: Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort is a relaxing retreat located directly on the Gulf of Mexico on the northern-end of Longboat Key. This place has a great location. Needs some updates but everything works. Would stay again. The best part is the beach access. Very responsive management team! LBK is one our favorite vacation spots for over 20 years and would stay here again.

The resort is not overly huge which makes for a less crowded and enjoyable time. Room was clean and we were just a stones throw from the beach. We would definitely go back!

Disappointed with the lack of housekeeping services. Guests should not have to take dirty towels to the office daily or strip bed at check out. Price increase for next year of 1,000 week is outrageous!

Place was very nice. Unfortunately, the red tide made it uncomfortable. Beach looked beautiful which is where we wanted to be but because of dead fish and terrible odor we were not able to sit in beach or walk on beach. Thank goodness for rec facility about half a mile away. We were able to enjoy that pool.

We attended a wedding on Longboat Key, so we spent a full week at Silver Sands #257. The orange building is a bit hard to find. There are no elevators, so carrying heavy luggage upstairs can be challenging. The unit is entered thru the master bedroom, and with the blinds open and lights on, the room is dark to apply makeup. There is a spacious closet and plenty of drawers. We went grocery shopping, because there is a full kitchen. They provided enough dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels and cooking supplies. It was hard to find local TV channels with the Romulo. We really enjoyed the beach. There is a view from the bedroom and the living room with a beautiful screened in deck. We ate lunch out there. We required one repair, and it was handled Immediately. The iron was cracked, so they provided us with a new one. We enjoyed the lounge chairs on the beach, but beach chairs and an umbrella that properly fits would be appreciated. The unit is closer to Bradenton Beach than Lido Key. Most of the restaurants on Longboat are very expensive, but we enjoyed them as well as The Blue Dolphin on am for breakfast. I probably would not stay on Longboat Key again, but for the price, we were very happy!

While we know you can't control the conduct of your guests (and their guests, if appropriate), we did experience guests disrespecting other guests and the critters & environment we all go to the beach to enjoy.

We are local and stayed 1 night to visit with friends in town staying nearby. Not realizing the check in time was at 4, we arrived at noon. After waiting in the office for about 20 minutes, calling the 800 # on the desk, the office attendant (not very friendly)finally walked in. He indicated he was assisting the cleaning staff trying to prepare the rooms for guests. He informed me there was no way to be in the room before 4. We decided to have the kids go in the pool and beach while we waited. we asked where bathroom was to change and the only bathroom was in the office. At 4 I returned to the office to see if the room was ready, which it wasn't. 20 minutes later I tried again and still not ready. At this point the kids were exhausted and over the pool and beach. We finally got in the room at almost 5. The room smelled of bleach but in serious need of upgrades. The shower had mold along the door. The living room furniture was old, couch was saggy and pull out bed very thin and extremely uncomfortable. Location was great, pool was clean and deck furniture was nice. The next morning housekeeping was at our door about 9AM asking when we were departing. For less than a 24 hour stay, was not worth the amount of money paid.

Furnishings were like new. Most comfortable bed, I believe it was a Simmons mattress. Perfect view from the lanai. It was clean but some maintenance needed but I think scheduled like repair of a tear in the lanai screen. The location was ideal. The only recommendation would be to get different kitchen chairs that are not so heavy and noisy when moving them. Unfortunately since we didn’t realize that reservations for reservations were needed, we missed out on a chance to visit any for dinner. Ate at Harry’s for breakfast, best breakfast burrito ever. Loved the pool and beach but ocean still too chilly to swim in. Don’t plan on finding much if any shells.

My husband, 11 year old son, and I stayed for for 4 nights here and we enjoyed ourselves. It's much more quiet than Destin, FL and a very private beach. The pool is pretty small but because we went in early May, it was not crowded the whole time we were there. The condo is much smaller than the one we usually stay in, but it was okay. The balcony was great because we had a view of the pool AND the beach! Our main complaint would be the extremely uncomfortable bed and the couch bed could not be slept on. It was like sleeping on the floor. Also, while a screen keeps the bugs out on the balcony, it also distorts the view. The walls are paper thin as well as we were in a unit that connected to another room with a door separating us. We could literally hear the woman's entire conversation when she was on the phone. Once she checked out on day 2, it was better! All in all, a nice place to stay. Private, low key and clean. Would probably stay again but maybe in a bigger unit with a little privacy and 2 bathrooms.

Beautiful beach
Comfortable room, friendly staff, great accommodations. The beach was great for swimming and not crowded (in mid-May). I would recommend and would stay again.

I loved it...but
I loved it, we changed rooms ( From 257 to 256) because we stayed a day longer because of the weather, but we checked out Monday which we didn't have to, we had 257 until Weds. at 11:00 we checked out because it was easier "we thought" we changed to 256 the bed in 257 was great I slept, but the bed in 256 was not comfortable at all. I couldn't sleep, its as if many people slept in it.
It's not as firm as 257. They need to change it. Other than that we loved Longboat Key. We loved our stay. The girl in the office was very helpful. The place was Very Clean. Better than the pictures, 257 was awesome.

Birthday weekend getaway
The condo was very nice and clean. I really enjoyed the private beach and the time we went was very quite exactly what I was looking for. If there was anything I would change would be the parking. May i suggest assign parking spots. It rain something horrible with no where to unload luggage . The first 2 spots (CLOSEST TO THE CONDOS) should be a loading and unloading zone 15min.
