A great 2 week vacation - but in a filthy and completely overpriced property.

The location was in the 2nd arrondissement. That area is close to many things a visitor to Paris would want to be close to.

The property was FAR overpriced for what it was. It was billed as a roomy 2 bedroom apartment but you could barely walk around the beds without smashing your toes. There was virtually no place to hang clothing and being there for a 2 week vacation meant we brought many things with no real closet space at all. Some of the outlets were loose in the wall and using our power adapters from the US was difficult in some of them. The gentleman who was communicating with us before we arrived doesn't speak any English so that made questions difficult to get answered. The woman we met onsite was better and had good English speaking skills. The seating in the space was terrible. There was one chair in the living room which was barely useable. The couch was OK - but the seats that accompanied the large dining table were all really uncomfortable, cheap and squeaky. That dining table made no sense is such a small living area and we had to move it into a corner just to be able to walk around. The Passage Du Caire is a alleyway like many in Paris which is a series of storefronts in an alley off the main street. It consisted of rundown storefronts, many unoccupied. The spiral staircase leading up to the apartment had not been cleaned in years and was almost impossible to navigate with large luggage. The apartment itself was not much cleaner. We paid about $475 per day for 14 days (do that math..!) which is actually insane compared to the quality of the property itself. We were up against fashion week and the Pope's visit and hotels were hard to find, so this looked decent even if overpriced. But what we got was not at all what you would expect from a property in this price range.

Comfy and clean, good location and safe. Close to good shopping areas and metro.

Location was good, close to the metro station and supermarkets and restaurants. Rooms were super clean and had all the necessary requirements. Bathroom was a fair size. Safe location and security in the evenings.

Rooms were okay and had just enough space, the passage leading up to the room was very small but normal for Paris. The kitchen needs to be redone and there needs to be replacement cutlery and utensils. Looks like the building is been worked on, just a good clean of the entrance and passages will be good to make improvements.
