Sleeps up to 3 guests A romantic rooftop apartment with a private balcony overlooking downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea is just steps away from Ocean Avenue and all of the galleries, restaurants and shops that make the town such a distinctive vacation destination. Old World charm is the hallmark of this newly remodeled 1-bedroom, 1 bath flat with a comfy pull out couch, with many unique and vintage accents that artistic souls will love. A renowned artist-owned gallery, Carmel Art Association, is directly across the street and features works by local painters and sculptors. From this location, it’s easy to park your car and go on foot to many different attractions. The 425-square-foot residence is on the upper floor of a courtyard that includes numerous businesses, including the popular Toro Sushi Bar, and is also just steps away from the Hog’s Breath Inn, formerly owned by Clint Eastwood, as well as a variety of other well-known restaurants within a few blocks. In addition, the apartment is just a few minutes by car from the beach, and just 10 minutes to the world-class golf courses and restaurants of Pebble Beach®, to monarch butterfly sightings in Pacific Grove, or to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row. Other attractions within a half hour’s drive are the natural wonders of Big Sur and wine tasting and dining in Carmel Valley Village. Hardwood floors, whitewashed vaulted ceilings, and handcrafted plaster walls are among the attractive features, as well as vintage built-in cabinets that provide plenty of storage space. A color scheme in soothing tones of white, gray and blue reflect the nearby ocean environment, and eclectic décor captures the creative spirit of Carmel. Guests enter through a shabby chic door that leads into the living room, where large windows let in generous amounts of natural light, but with curtains if privacy is desired. A private balcony off the living room features bistro seating and wrought iron railings, a perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. The living room includes a 50-inch HDTV and comfortable seating that includes a full-size sleeper sofa. A kitchen with deep sink, built-in storage and a gas stove are available next to a dining area that seats two. Bedroom and Bathroom The bedroom features a queen bed and an en suite bath, with a pedestal sink, a tub/shower combination, large sunflower shower head and a built-in cabinet and drawers with ample room for storing personal items. An additional sleeping option is located in the living room where there is a full/double size sleeper sofa. Please note that guests sleeping in the living room will need to pass through the bedroom to get to the bathroom. Laundry service is available but there are no laundry facilities in the building. Cars may be parked on the street - no parking spaces are provided. The City of Carmel has several downtown parking lots with unlimited timing, including one near the flat on Torres and 3rd. Well-behaved dogs are welcome with pre-approval, an additional pet fee and a signed pet addendum. This vacation home is professionally managed by Sanctuary Vacation Rentals. Comfortable bed, great location, 2 blocks from Ocean Ave. (Carmel’s Main Street.) Walking distance from beach. Parking was easy to find. The Sushi restaurant downstairs is great as well as the staff. Hog’s Breath is through the back alley below. The noise from both places wasn’t an issue at all. We had our pup with us and it all worked out perfect.

It was very charming and as advertised. Only small issues were: (1) it smells a little strange, might need to mask it with a candle or something; (2) the check in / out process involves doing a bit of paperwork. These were minor annoyances, but overall it was a great stay. The place was clean and beautiful, in a great location with friendly neighbors. We would recommend it

Homey, quaint, clean apartment that we called home. Superb location amongst the heart of Carmel, just above an alleyway full of galleries and a restaurant. Rain plagued our trip and spent most of our time in the apartment and didn't mind at all. Property management called to welcome us and make sure everything was in order.

I stayed here three nights with my two adult daughters. The main bed is a double and there is a hide-a-bed in the living room. The kitchen was perfectly stocked with coffee K cups and coffee filled filter inserts. They left us wine and cheese with crackers. Such a gracious touch. The only negative was the hide-a-bed was not ready with sheets but we corrected that. Lovely stay in Carmel!!

The place was immaculate, cozy and extremely well appointed. Really appreciated the Britta water filter in the fridge. Wished check out time wasn’t so early, and there was some confusion finding the place, difficultly reaching someone to help, but otherwise a great visit. Would def stay again.

Adorable and well appointed place right in downtown. It has the charm of somewhere you would stay in Europe, but with walkable access to shops, food and of course the beach. The restaurant below (Toro), had the most friendly and welcoming staff and don’t worry about noise as everything closes at 9pm in Carmel. We have stayed at all the major hotels in Carmel/Pebble and Carmel Valley and this was a really fun way to change it up and have walking access to everything.
