"The best of both worlds"…that's what you get when you stay at Casa Viva! On the one hand, you get incredible views of the massive mountain scape that defines the Southwest. On the other, you're just minutes from experiencing the amazing architecture of Santa Fe Plaza and the original Spanish Market Square! Conveniently located near historic downtown Santa Fe, this two bedroom, two-and-a-half bath home also gives you easy access to the nearby pueblos, where you can immerse yourself in the rich Native American history and culture of one of the country's most unique areas. Just minutes from downtown Santa Fe, Casa Viva sleeps five people comfortably and is built in the Pueblo Revival adobe style. A light, bright, open-concept living area features tiled floors, wood ceilings (complete with viga beams), comfortable furnishings, a corner kiva fireplace and large flat-screen cable TV and entertainment system. Plenty of windows and skylights let in natural light and offer inspiring views of the surrounding terrain. Gather at the large, farmhouse-style dining table to enjoy a family meal or game night. Close by the spacious kitchen features a kitchen island and eye-catching Talavera tiles, while the expansive wood cabinets are well stocked with all the cookware, dinnerware, and utensils you’ll need to prepare your favorite Mexican dishes (or heat up leftovers from one of the many culinary delights the area has to offer). Casa Viva's main bedroom features a luxurious queen-size bed, outdoor access and en suite full bathroom. The second bedroom boasts a comfortable queen-size bed and ceiling fan. Just off the second bedroom, a sitting room with twin bed is perfect for your little one or any overnight guests. Property was awesome. Had a bit of communications difficulties in receiving the access instructions ahead of time.

Very clean and nicely decorated. Thoroughly enjoyed the unit. Very quite, nice, fenced area for pets, and beautiful sunset views.

The property met our needs very well. When we had a weird HVAC issue, the property manager had someone there right away. It was great to be able to walk to the Old Santa Fe sites!

The unit was very clean, bedrooms large, kitchen well/stocked with high quality equipment. Although the location is close to the downtown and the plaza, it sits at the top of a large hill, so that needs to be considered when if you want to walk. We had problems with one of the toilets, all low flow and the heating system. Maintenance came by several hours after I called and fixed the problems. But property manager said the toilets (Kohler) were problematic. Heating system is radiant floor heat, so not very responsive if change room temp. Only one wash cloth got three bathrooms. Very limited TV options, only local channels without cable. So not even CNN, ESPN.

We had a great time, the property has great views, and it was pretty well supplied with most essentials (take what you consider really essential or ask beforehand). Our main problem was temperature regulation, which actually wasn’t possible except by opening doors. A minor issue—the washing machine’s lid isn’t attached, and bring your own detergent.

The condo was lovely, clean, well decorated, not cluttered, a short drive to the Santa Fe Plaza

3 high school friends celebrating our 70th birthdays in Santa Fe. Wonderful home that had the Santa Fe flair, great location and lots of great books to read!

Beautiful space - close to downtown
A lovely house, 15 minute walk from the center of the town. We were only three, so space/crockery was not an issue. I think that with 5, it might have been. Also note that one bedroom is self contained; the other two are interconnected - i.e. you have to go through one bedroom with double bed to access the smaller bedroom - that has a single bed.
Location was great. Balcony with good views across the town.
My main complaint is the price - and the way in which final cost on VRBO is so opaque. You cannot believe the sticker price at all. The final price is anywhere between sticker price +30% and sticker price + 50% .

This was a great spot for our Santa Fe vacation, close to the downtown plaza, with lots of restaurants and grocery stores nearby. Clean and spacious, with a nice kitchen. We enjoyed the sunset views from the living room. It was too cold to take advantage of the outside spaces, but there was a nice balcony and patio as well. Beds and furniture were comfortable. Be aware that you have to pick up and drop off the keys to the property from a different location. Would definitely recommend!

It was a nice facility and we all enjoyed the property. Listing was misleading because there was no AC in the downstairs bedrooms. However, management worked with us to resolve the issue.

A great and pleasant place close to the historic down town square. I would highly recommend it.
Two little improvements. One, the kitchen knives need to be sharpened and there was no knife sharpener, the bread knife was broken when we arrived. Two, the master bath lavatory sink drain is slow and needs to be cleaned.

I agree with the reviewer who said that the property is much nicer than the photos make it look. We were very comfortable there and would stay here again.
Pros:
Great location. We walked to almost everything we did.
Clean and well-furnished with a few interesting artistic touches.
Roomy.
Both bedrooms have a bath that can be accessed privately which is a great thing when traveling with friends.
Cons:
The check-in/checkout process requires you to go to the office of the property manager. It would make much more sense if there was a lock box on the front door to pick up and leave the key.
The garage door stopped working during our stay. We called it in on a Sunday. We didn't need immediate attention to it, but we would have expected a call from the property manager sometime in the following 3 days of our stay.
The listing says that the unit has air conditioning and it does. Be aware that the A/C is in the living room only. The bedrooms, that are downstairs, rely on ceiling fans.

Great condo. Spotlessly clean. Difficult driveway but balanced by the fact that a car can be in the garage/remote opener. Spacious and comfortable with lots of character.
Check-in was disappointing as at a different location on a one-way street away from the condo. The keys and info were where we were directed, but on check out day the keys had to be returned to the remote location to a drop box. There should be a lockbox at the condo with key and info access and return capabilities I would rate this rental a 5 star if the key check-in and return were changed to benefit the renters rather than the management company.
