Misleading listing, unsafe parking, threats, police intervention, and unacceptable treatment by the host

-

Unfortunately, this was one of the most stressful accommodation experiences we have ever had. The entire incident began because our car was damaged by a metal wire that the property had installed across the parking space where we were instructed to park. This was not the parking area advertised on Booking.com. The parking arrangements did not match the listing, and we were never informed before arrival that we would be using a different parking area or that additional parking fees applied. After reporting the damage to the host, instead of showing concern or trying to resolve the issue, our complaint was immediately dismissed. Although alternative parking spaces were later offered, they were even less suitable than the original one and still did not correspond to the parking advertised on Booking.com. During the dispute, the host’s son threatened that our car would be intentionally damaged if we did not follow his instructions regarding the parking. Several people witnessed this incident, and it made us feel genuinely unsafe. The situation escalated to the point where we had to call the police. Officers attended the property, documented the incident, photographed the scene, and repeatedly attempted to contact the host by phone, but she did not answer. They also tried to locate her at the property, but she was not present. After assessing the situation, the police advised us that we could leave the accommodation if we no longer felt safe. We therefore terminated our stay early. Before we even left, the host blocked my phone number and refused to acknowledge us. However, she did send an email threatening to kick us out based on the fact that we are “harassing” her simply for reporting an incident. Since there was no way to contact them, we had to leave the keys at the property. We also never received a receipt for our payment. Overall, what should have been a relaxing holiday turned into an extremely stressful experience.

Sarajevo is an extraordinary country, rich in beauty and historical significance. When you visit—- don’t neglect to take

The most wonderful thing is the great hostess! Next was the great proximity to the town center. The house was clean and had everything we needed. This place is highly recommended!

Casa graziosa e comoda. Buona posizione. Host fantastica, molto disponibile e gentile. È riuscita a farmi consegnare una torta di compleanno per mia figlia di domenica mattina!
