Nestled in Lewis Smith Lake, this charming house for $546 per night is a great choice for your next trip. This home has just went thru an extensive total renovation which includes new stainless steel appliances, quartz counter tops with under mount sinks, all new bathrooms, new furnishings, window treatments, Features includes option that it can be used as duplex or single family home depending on your needs. The dock is a $80,000.00 flotation systems top of line two level plus swim platform and gazebo. High fashion colors and decorative moldings, wall hung smart Samsung and Sharp TV's. This home no doubt is super conveniently located with access to two major marina's Duskin Point and Squirrel's Marina only blocks away. As well as free dam launch 5 miles. Curry minutes away and Jasper Corridor X only 20 miles away. This property is among the absolute best lots and location on Smith Lake! Upper level: Bedroom 1: Queen size bed with triple dresser and night stand Bedroom 2: King size bed with armorer and night stand Bedroom 3: Queen size bed with private bathroom Lower level: Bedroom 1: Queen size bed room with night stand/dresser private bathroom Bedroom 2: Full size bed room with Semi-private bathroom Bedroom 3: Queen size bed room with Semi-private bathroom TV served by Direct TV. AT&T and Verizon reception is good. No internet/wifi service is provided. Each bathroom is stocked with towels. However, guest will need to provide their own swim/beach towels. Parking has provisions for 2 car covered carport and a concrete drive for 2 cars. A vacant corner lot 200 feet from home will allow for boat trailer, jet-ski trailer and overflow guest parking is provided. The rates for labor day/memorial day 4th july are $500.00 additional for a 4 night booking. The house can be used as two separate houses and basically is two kitchens two laundry rooms with washers and dryers .There are two porches both covered and both with table and chairs for lake front views. All of the kitchens are equipped with new Pioneer Women pots and pans, new coffee maker's and can opener's, and silverware. The flooring is mostly tile whitewashed hardwood look a like with some hardwood look a like vinyl plank. The 300-foot high dam, completed in 1961 by Alabama Power Company, impounds the Sipsey Fork of the Black Warrior River to form the lake. Smith Lake has a surface area of 21,200 acres, 500 miles of shoreline, a watershed area of 944 square miles, a retention time of 435 days, and a maximum depth of 264 feet. The western side of the lake's watershed is crowned by the 180,000-acre Bankhead National Forest, which blankets the deeply dissected southern edge of the Cumberland Plateau. The Sipsey Fork of the Black Warrior River, Alabama's only Wild and Scenic River, flows through the Bankhead National Forest. The Sipsey Wilderness, Land of a Thousand Waterfalls, lies within the Bankhead National Forest and is home to Alabama's largest tree, a tulip poplar with a 21-foot circumference at its base.

Our family really enjoyed this awesome place! The house had plenty of room comfortable beds, & one of the best docks for swimming & fun in the water. Not to mention the beautiful sunrises! It was also close to stores for those things we ran out of forgot. We would highly recommend this place for families!

This is our 10th year at smith and our second stay at this property and new go to when visiting every year. Host is very responsive. Access to amenities is within 15 minutes if you happen to need anything. Water access and location is ideal as well.

We have been to Smith Lake a couple of years ago and feel in love with the place. We had four families at this year's get together and we thoroughly enjoyed the place. The weather was great, the water was great and our facilities were great !!!!

Amazingly perfect dock complete with shade, furniture, 2 slips, and very bright lights for easy docking. Oddly laid out house with lots of room including 2 porches and great comfortable couches and beds. Kitchen needs a couple more large pans/cookie sheets for preparing meals. Cold AC, convenient washer/dryers, plenty of refrigerator space. If you are arriving with your boat and some teens who want their own living room and like to sleep late-and others get up early, this is the place. Slough is easy to kayak, swim platform is plenty big, and you can call the kids to dinner from the porch.

THE GOOD: Owner responds quickly. The view is lovely. The lake is clear as always. House is large. Parking is ok. Yard is level enough to make traveling to the deck easy.
THE NOT SO GOOD: The house is older so I expect some imperfections, BUT, I think roaches, crickets and other bugs can be exterminated. They were crawling the walls and floors. The stairs going outside to the dock were in terrible shape with loose weak boards. The cleaning crew is not doing a good job, the dishes and silverware were dirty. The carpet going up the stairs is stained and filthy. The BBQ grill needs to be replaced, it caught fire while we were trying to use it. It is rusted and clogged with grease. I want to make clear that I did NOT contact the owner with any of these issues. I am sure he would have tried to do something. He needs to know these things to fix them if he desires to. Will I stay here again, no.

The location of the property on the lake is amazing! Our family had a wonderful time since we spent the majority of our time on the lake. The house could use some cleaning especially in the carpeted areas and the kitchen. Dished and utensils were not clean. We had planned on using the gas grill multiple nights, however, there was not a propane tank. We had to borrow one from a friend.

This is the second time we stayed here and it was just a good as the first time! I love the decks and docks! The two kitchens are helpful for a multi-family stay and they have many bedrooms, but also great open spaces to hang out and play games! We would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet lake getaway.

Bumpy experience to start. I tried contacting the homeowner on our way in but did not get a answer.(It was close to 530 so technically after hours) Once arriving after 10 pm we did not have any access to the property without the lock box information. In this area we had no cell reception. After driving back into town to contact Vrbo and the homeowner we still didn’t have a answer but did gain access to the property a hour after arriving. The owners did follow up early morning and a few times the next day. The property was plenty big enough for our family. Things to note: the downstairs master is a walkthrough access to the upstairs unless you go outside and up. One of the bedrooms downstairs does not have air conditioning. Up the first set of stairs is the single room with a full bath which contains the second laundry. Continuing up the stairs to the second level is the other 2 bedrooms and bathroom. The house was good for us as we stay on the water the entire time. The dock was a great area for swimming. The kids enjoy the rock bank with plenty of clay to dig and play in. Good location for multiple families.

The dock is the best on the lake, we spent the majority of the time out there, and especially loved the gate on the second deck for high dives. The house is divided but was good to separate the group if people wanted quiet time upstairs. Maybe call out on the listing that there is no wifi (couldn't see it?) But other than that it was great.

This house has plenty of space and fit our family plus some! The dock was beautiful and held our boat and wave runners well. The only thing I would mention was the cleanliness of the upstairs part of the home. Hair was left in the shower and there were bugs on the shower floor. Dusty outside with a lot of cobwebs, but this is the lake so that can be understandable.

We had a great time at the lake over Memorial Day weekend. The house has been added onto and the master bedroom has to be walked through by everyone who is downstairs to go upstairs and vise versa. It was OK for us but if you're seeking privacy in the master bedroom, there is none if others are staying downstairs. The grandchildren had the time of their lives and there was plenty of room for them to play and sleep. It was really nice to have an upstairs and a downstairs for kids to play and adults to visit. The house is very spacious and accommodated us well. The owner was really nice and answered our calls and helped with all we needed. It was really nice to have two kitchens. The dock was great with little ones!

This was our first Smith Lake experience and we have all agreed that it’s wayy better than the beach! The house was perfect! I highly recommend it! Plenty of room for the kids to play hide and seek, jump off the pier and swim. We brought our boat and used the Duskin Point Marina to put in the water, which was extremely convenient. We will be booking again soon!

We just returned from an amazing vacation in the Aqua Vista. Our group consisted of 8 adults and 5 children and we all sleep comfortably. I have been vacationing on Smith Lake for many years and have rented 7 different homes. This house and location was one of the best! The kitchens were well stocked with everything we needed and with quality cookware just like we have at home (not the cheap stuff). Having 2 kitchens was so nice with our large group. The dock was amazing with the best view we have ever had! It has the benefits of being just on the edge of a cove where you avoid a lot of the boat traffic but still faced the big water so that you can see it all. Another bonus to this house was the proximity to Squirrel's Marina where we rented a pontoon and was able to get ice each morning for our coolers. We have stayed in houses on the lake before that were a good 20-30 minute drive from a store that sold ice. John was really nice to work with and was very prompt on answering any questions we had prior to and during our stay. You can really tell that he is dedicated to making his renters happy and comfortable during their stay. We are already discussing when our group can go back!!!
