Great location (walkable to everywhere downtown) and beautiful, historic property. We stayed in the Garden Suite which was spacious and quiet. We will be back!

Overall, very good stay. Staff was friendly and helpful, the room was very nice. The blackout shutters and curtains were amazing. Bathroom was very large and our queen deluxe room. Air conditioner worked great allowing us to make the room as cool as we wanted for sleeping at night, many hotels in a while. Complementary coconut cake and Prosecco. Two suggestions. One would be fitted sheets for the beds, even though they are large, and electric chargers in the valet parking lot since we came in the electric car would’ve been a great convenience.

Hard to understand all the highly rated reviews and accolades. This hotel was average at best. Our suite was tired, the pullout sofa bed subpar, the king bed just okay and the fireplace wasn’t functioning. The shower/tub basin was scuffed and they’re still using a shower curtain. Really, what hotels still use shower curtains?
The staff was great, when they were around. Had to handle our own bags in and out of the hotel. The sofa bed was not made up upon our arrival even though the hotel asked by text, when we’d arrive.
Overall a huge disappointment.

We loved the Planters Inn, it is a historic building with furnishings to match the era and charm of Charleston. The staff is fantastic as is the breakfast in the Peninsula Grill. The location is in the heart of all things to see and do, right across the street from the City Market as well as the best restaurants. I'm so glad I decided to stay there!

Old world elegance and service. The staff were outstanding. They sincerely wanted to enhance our stay. Very accommodating and helpful. The location is the best in all of Charleston.

The room and atmosphere was nostalgic. But the overall cleanliness could have been better.

We had a delightful stay at the Planters Inn. Staff was all friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the coffee, tea, and treats in the lounge each day. Beds were very comfortable and the room size of the double queen exceeded my expectations! The bathroom was clean and updated. Loved that the Planters Inn was centrally located and we walked to shops and restaurants easily. I would definitely stay here again.

Great hotel! Superb staff who were helpful with dining suggestions and directions to rooftop bars. Peninsula Grill is awesome for dinner but equally good for breakfast.

The Planter’s Inn is the only Relais and Chateau property in South Carolina. As such, you can expect a French flair for beauty and tradition. Expect old charm and excellent food!

Overall excellent stay! Our room had a sort of musty smell and some mildew in the shower. The room was in need of a bit of a facelift, especially the bathroom. But you honestly couldn’t find a better location or nicer more attentive staff!

Great location near the market and King Street. Excellent staff - helpful and friendly.

Beautiful and comfortable and centrally located. We enjoyed a suite due to a mix up in our reservation. It was lovely. The maid service was top-notch and Ben at the front desk made us feel welcome. The property was delicately decorated for Christmas with poinsettias and lights. Great location to walk to dinner or music or shopping. Will be back.

Highly recommend, it's in the heart of everything! Market right outside your door! The staff were incredible with accommodations, restaurant attached to the hotel was delicious! I would definitely stay here again.

We have stayed here many times in the past and have had wonderful stays. However, this time the staff were overall pleasant but did a very poor job. For example, a staff member agreed to a request and did not follow through. When I brought it to the attention of the next staff member and then the manager on duty, the answer was “no” without explanation or apology.

I Love Staying At The Planters Inn. The Staff Is Excellent and Friendly And They Always Accomodate!

The property was quaint and it felt like you were at home with the warm and helpful staff.
It was a joy staying there as it was steps away from restaurants, shopping, and attractions (the market and the carriage tours)

This is a beautiful historic hotel, looks lovely. However I'd never go back, the staff were so badly "misinformed" that it bordered on dishonesty regarding charges they made to my card. I really didn't have time to figure out which of the 2 it was so it will just be a pass for me. Also to my surprise there were several basic amenities that were missing including wash cloths, hand soap, laundry bag etc.
I also stayed at the Spectator Hotel during the same trip, that experience was absolutely delightful and I would definitely stay there again.

Great location.
Didn’t acknowledge me as a Expedia VIP. Didn’t have room ready ~ said they would text when room was ready…never did. Did not offer a bottle of sparkling wine. Didn’t check or offer a room upgrade. Disappointing!!

Room was nice, location was good, restaurant food way over priced. Personnel were professional and courteous..Felt that the room charge did not meet our value expectations.

Staff were amazing - super friendly & helpful. Hotel location was perfect, we were able to walk everywhere! The market being right across the street was so fun.

Friendly and helpful staff, especially Mike who handled the valet parking and luggage, the front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful, both on the late afternoon of arrival and next a.m. Suite was spectacular, although mattress on sleep sofa could be replaced. Wonderful amenities. Great breakfast at the Grill and enjoyable treats from Benne's (bakery). We all enjoyed it immensely.
