the hotel in on a perfect location - few minutes walk fro the old and the new town of Edinburgh. The staff is very friendly and supportive, the rooms are tidy (a bit small but who would expect bigger in the city centre of so old town), cleaned every day. `the breakfast if delicious, all products are fresh.
`over, great experiance.

Just a one night stay with my two small kids. Our first room had a TV that suddenly stopped working and a phone that didn't work, but we were doonswapped I to another room (with a MUCH nicer view - not sure why we weren't put there initially...) Excellent service.
5.0
Very nice hotel and very well located. We were only a few mins walk to the high street and 5min walk to the train station.
The only thing I am not giving a full star for is the mattress. I personally like a firm mattress and the mattresses were medium and not very comfortable. Other than that the staff were friendly and accommodating.
There was current building onsite (April 2024) just a note if you don't like getting up early, it starts at 8am

Massive construction woke us with persistent banging.

Staff were very welcoming and accommodating. The room was spacious, well equipped and modern. The breakfast was excellent with good choices, including gluten and dairy free options.
Great location for wandering around Edinburgh.

This is a very nice hotel to stay in in Edinburgh. The location is fantastic - immediately opposite the train station and in the middle of the city. The room was clean and tidy. We couldn't get the smart TV to play ball. No recycling bin in rooms or foyer.
Would still definitely recommend!

Great hotel, located in close proximity to the station and also walking distance to castle and Royal Mile. Clean, comfortable rooms.
We didn’t eat here so can’t comment on the food but we received a warm welcome from the staff. We were also able to leave our luggage stored safely upon checkout so we could explore more of Edinburgh

Clean, comfortable and excellent customer service.

Wonderful stay! Beautiful view, perfect location, easy access to all of Old Town and the train station nearly across the street. Clean, comfortable, and beautify decorated. A little small but that’s typical for all of the UK hotels we stayed in.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Leonardo Royal Hotel. Staff were very friendly and so were the bartenders. Very hard working young group of people. The gym was one of the best we’ve been to in a hotel complete with two Peloton bikes which were in good condition. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect for what we needed. Really close to the train station and tourist spots.

Warm welcome, nice room, comfy bed.
My bathroom was a wet room and it didnt appear to have a fan so it stayed pretty steamy for a long time.
Breakfast was ok but the vegetarian offering wasnt particularly exciting, would have appreciated some veggie sausages or something.
Was some noisy works outside when I arrived but these stopped by the time i came back from an early dinner, and presumably not within the hotels control anyway.

Great hotel, close to train station. Walking distance to central Edinburgh. Lovely room, comfortable bed, view of Arthur’s Seat. Nice clean, modern bathroom with good shower. Staff very friendly and enjoyed drinks and bar food before we headed out.

Hotel in great location. Nice rooms and ability to leave bags in the hotel whilst exploring Edinburgh. As all major cities hotels are not cheap but this offered good value for money. Breakfast was also included in our price. This was also a great start to the day.

Staff were super polite and helpful, especially Sullivan in the bar and restaurant. The rooms were modern, comfortable, well designed and I slept well. Breakfast was good, a nice range of food options and juices. The evening menu caters for all appetites and was delicious. The only downside was the work being done on the building behind the hotel, unfortunately my room faced that way so the view was disappointing and a little noisy, but that was a small thing given the rest of the hotel.

Just had a two night stay here. Stepped out the station, crossed the road 2 minute walk to Hotel. Absolutely in an ideal location, central to everything. 3 Adults in one room for a special Birthday .Lots of room ,comfortable beds, clean.Staff were attentive and very friendly. Will be going again with my Husband.

The hotel was a lovely hotel- clean and tidy and lovely rooms. The staff were all lovely as well and as an extra surprise there was the most fantastic gym!!! The only downside was the room (113) was incredibly noisy that we hardly slept. The windows, I don’t think are even double glazed and the draft comes in (it’s not cold as the radiators are boiling!!) just very very noisy!!! Especially deliveries to the hotel from silly o clock in the morn. It’s a shame as it would put me off staying again even though otherwise it was a fab hotel.

We've stayed at this hotel before. Great location near Waverley station and the royal mile. The photo is the view from our room at the front of the hotel.

Location is very convenient to the Royal Mile and the hotel itself was of good quality, good room service, but the construction behind and rail station in front make for a relatively unscenic location.

one of the best hotel room, i have ever stayed. the lobby is nice, the room is huge and even nicer. they refill the water, but towards the end of our stay, they no longer refill the snack.
otherwise the room is nice as per picture, bonus it is just 3 mins walk from the train station, so if your journey is late at night, this hotel is just close by to the train station and royal mile.

Excellent 6 night stay. Great location (particularly if arriving by train) and a lovely breakfast. Rooms also appear recently refurbished, which always helps, but the biggest thing for us were the staff. Really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. This will now be our first choice when staying in Edinburgh.

I absolutely loved the view from our room. Our room was cozy just needs more lighting

My daughter stayed at the Leonardo Royal Hotel in Edinburgh last weekend with 11 of her friends to celebrate her 40th Birthday. Everyone raved about the hotel and staff were exceptional. They had gone above and beyond to make sure the trip was memorable by leaving a card, bottle of bubbly and chocolates in her room. Will be definitely be booking to stay at this hotel on my next visit to Edinburgh.

We received a very warm welcome on our arrival from the reception team. Unfortunately though the room was not to our liking, however this was later rectified by the hotel on my return back to London in the form of part refund - that I excepted with thanks.
Good points about the hotel:
• Pleasant staff
• Good views
• Great location
• Clean and presentable room on entrance
• Big TV
• Good coffee and tea making facilities
Bad points about the hotel
• Parking
• The other issues we experienced on our stay mainly with the room where later rectified so there’s no need for me to share publicly - I work in hospitality and know how hard the industry works to keep guests happy.
All in all the hotel is well maintained, well presented and is situated pretty much in the centre of Edinburgh and is about right money wise. The hotel also has some really nice members of staff so they should keep their heads well and truly held high.

It was a fantastic stay! My 5th time in Edinburgh but my first time to stay in Leonardo Royal with my partner. The hotel’s location was perfect it being located just few steps away from the Royal Mile and the view outside our window was overlooking the magnificent Calton Hill. The receptionist gave us a welcome drink of prosecco which was a lovely gesture. The hotel’s cleanliness and orderliness was impressive. Everyday, the housekeeping staff made sure our room always looked immaculate and refilled our water, coffee and mini bar supplies just perfectly. Absolutely highly-recommended place and will keep coming back everytime we visit Edinburgh. Well done and kudos to all the staff! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Short walking distance from the city

The location is great, right in the middle of the old town and new town and close to Arthur’s seat. All the tourist spots within walking distance.
The staff were extremely helpful and gave us a wonderful welcome. We dropped our luggage early as we arrived in Edinburgh way early morning and to our surprise when we came back to check in our bags had already been delivered to our room.
The room itself was lovely and we had a wonderful couple of nights sleep.
Excellent location, facilities and staff, we will definitely be staying here again, highly recommended.

Initially you may think the area is not good but it is a stones throw to the Royal Mile and 5 minute walk to Princes Street. Room decor is beautiful. We stayed over the weekend but had to return due to cancelled flight . Check in staff were very sympathetic and gave us complimentary breakfast. The breakfast was amazing and if it had not been free would recommend prepaying for £15. Small downside was no mirror close to plugs for blowdrying hair...not great....but would not stop me booking in the future

Very convenient location, minutes walk from Waverley and Royal Mile. Food in the restaurant leaves room to be desired so I would recommend sticking to simple, hotel food and don't expect much.

Absolutely amazing!! Spent one night here as a family of 3 for my sons 18th birthday weekend. I called to let reception know and they left a birthday card, cake plate and bottle in the room which was so appreciated. The concierge was super helpful with recommendations and took time to chat to him about his day. Location of hotel was great, just behind the Royal mile so very central. Loads of bars, restaurants and shops, easy quick walk to castle. Room was perfect 1 double bed and a single one, very clean and lovely design. Would highly recommended this hotel and would love to come back. Thank you for a great stay, 10/10!
