Bright light outside window and no blocking curtains- just sheer curtains. I woke every hour thinking was daylight already and that I was late.
Breakfast was late but the crew hustled to feed everyone because the breakfast cook didn’t show up.
Flooring in rooms kitchen area needs replaced. Couch was also very uncomfortable.

I reserved this suite for ease and comfort traveling with my family. It was a very large and nice suite

Great costumer service and super clean.

Property needs a major renovation and a deep clean. Staff was very accommodating and assisted best they could. Majority of appliances, fixtures, lights, toilets, TVs are in disrepair. The carpet and tile floor needs either replacement or a deep clean..stains and holes throughout. Fans and curtains have not been cleaned also having multiple stains and caked on dirt. Had our room moved to another which was a little better but still not Hilton quality I’ve seen in the past. Overall disappointed in Expedia’s and AAA’s ratings of the property and that a Hilton hotel is in this bad of shape.
Will not return.

A big hotel but rooms are dated. Needs a lot of renovations. Should start with the carpets! Nice that it is pet friendly but people are not considerate enough to clean up their dogs mess. Location is good, off 280, Walgreens, Starbucks, fresh market are all within walking distance. Seems safe around the property. Breakfast was normal standard hotel breakfast, didn’t really taste fresh.

Always stay here when in the Birmingham area.

Booked a room with a queen bed and a sofa bed for three people. The sofa bed wasn't made up and there was no bedding for it in the room. Went to the front desk to get the necessary bedding as well as fresh batteries for the tv remote as the batteries in the remote were dead and corroded. Front desk staff was very polite and helpful with these issues.

DO NOT STAY HERE! I travel a lot and this property was one of the top three worst hotels that I’ve ever stayed in. Common hallways not vacuumed and carpets are very dirty, walls with peeling paint. Room carpet was was ripped, stained and disgusting. Stained sheets, worn duvets, holes in black out shades, Odor in room was rough. This property needs massive TLC and a serious deep clean. Was so grossed out by this place I didn’t even think about trying the breakfast. Slept very little as could not get comfortable in such an unclean environment so packed up and left very early. I’ll stick with the Marriott brand as never had any issues with their quality control.

Last -minute reservation, reasonably priced. The studio suite was very clean and comfortable. Wallpaper and carpeting needs replaced in several area of the hotel, however my opinion is that I would definitely stay here again!

Everything about our stay was excellent. The staff was extremely friendly and professional and accommodating in every possible manner. Our room was even bigger than expected and provided top notch comfort for our overnight stay. Perfect location as well. I look forward to our next trip to Homewood Suites.

Booked a double room with kitchenette. Carpet was wet in one room for unclear reason. Front desk did not know either (??) but was nice enough to provide a box fan to try and dry it. Shower/baths were not clean (hair and grime). Kitchen area had food scraps on the floor. No draw curtains on the windows and we happened to be by a spotlight. Overall not a great stay but fortunately it was just an overnight passing through. Would look elsewhere

The carpets in the room and hallways were stained. My toilet seat was broken. The bathroom light was pushed in and flickered a lot. The bathtub was soft in the middle. My ceiling fan was so loud and loose. My comforter had blood on it. The bathroom toilet ran and the bathtub leaked. There was left over clothes. Barely any towels and wash clothes. No hairdryer. The sofa bed mattress was stained. The Ac didn’t work great. The refrigerator didn’t cool very well. The elevator broke. The whole place needs a renovation. The staff didn’t know English or what was going on. I’m never staying there again.

The hot breakfast was a bonus. Nice pool and basketball court.

First impression was great. Lobby area was clean and modern, and the front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. However, the room itself needed some TLC. In one of the bathrooms the door lock was broken, the light switch didn’t work properly, and the porcelain on the tub was chipped. We also found a used cigarette butt under the kitchen sink. Overall, the property simply appears to need an update that goes beyond the common areas.

Gentleman at the front desk was more than helpful, did a tremendous job. Couldn't get into our room, something wrong with the door. Had to split up our family and stay in two different rooms. The way it worked out for sleeping arrangements was not ideal. I'm too old to sleep on a pull out couch

The property could be cleaner. All the garbage cans were full to the top for our 3 day stay

While the hotel is older and definitely in need of an update, it was clean and the continental breakfast was excellent.

The hotel clearly needs updates. I was also expecting it to be a lot cleaner. It was dirty. The sheets looked like they had not been changed. The carpet had holes everywhere. And most concerning was the large pee stains and blood stains on the pullout couch. I had small children with me and we were unable to use the couch and were forced to sardine ourselves into the beds to fit. It was absolutely disgusting and I would not put my kids to sleep on the bed. The staff could be more friendly. They were all kinda meh.

We came to Birmingham in October to see Greta Van Fleet, it was a short trip but I still wanted a hotel to provide comfort and really feel like a home away from home while we were there.. I’m so glad we picked Homewood because the environment was literally so calm and comforting and the property was so quiet. It was right in the middle of town and we had access to everything.

The hotel looked nice, and our room was bigger than normal hotel rooms. But, then we started noticing a bunch of little problems....such as : 1. we reserved a room with sleeping for 5, but only had sleeping arrangements for four. 2. The hotel told us that they ran out of pillows, sheets and blankets, and we only had enough pillows for 3 people. 3. We had to go to Target to purchase an air mattress, sheets, pillows, pillowcases, and blanket. 4. The a/c in our room was set as low as it could go and on full speed, but the room never got colder than 75°. 5. Our windows didnt have screens on them, so we couldn't open a window to let cool air in. 6. Our room didnt have any kind of handsoap (we had to buy our own). 7. When we asked the lady at the front desk about getting the pillows and bedding that our room needed, she barely looked at us and didnt display any concern at all, and said "we ran out".
So, overall, the room was decent, and some of the employees were really nice. And the breakfast was pretty good. But i dont think we will ever return to this hotel.

Homewood Suites Birmingham-South/Inverness was amazing! The staff was so friendly and accomodating! A special shout out to Roneka who really went out of her way for me! I think this is the first review I've ever left since this is the best customer service I've ever received from a hotel/motel. I usually try to stay at Residence Inn, but I will definitely change to Homewood Suites after this experience!

There were dirty towels from the previous guests. Towels hanging in the closet, over the shower curtain rod, etc. The pillowcases on our bed looked wrinkled like they had been slept on before. There were dishes in the dishwasher
The hotel was sold out so it was pointless to ask to be moved. The heat in the hallways was turned up so high that one could barely get to their room without sweating. It was not even cold outside. Overall, one of the worst hotel rooms I have ever stayed in.
