About this cabin rental
Newly tastefully Refurbished cute 2 Bedroom 1 bath Cabin 200 feet across the street from the Lake and only 500 feet from Height Marina Boat rental (Prebook in advance) Includes 2 kayaks & 4 person Paddle boat w/rental (with signed release of liability) and plenty of games. 2 TVs (50 inches) with Roku and Netflix and internet access. Will sleep 4 people. View of the Lake from your front door. Enough parking for 3 cars. Absolutely no pets or smoking of any kind. Approximately 1 mile to Sav-Alot Grocery Store, and restaurants, and Lake is 200 feet away. Also a block away is miniature golf and go carts. Kayaks and a 4 man Paddle boat Included with rental at no additional charge. (will need to transport the water toys across the street with pull cart only 200 feet) Bedroom #1:Queen size bed with pillow topper and all bedding with 50 inch smart TV . Bedroom #2: Pull out queen couch with pillow topper with all bedding and 50 inch smart television and electric fireplace for winter. Dining room=Seats 4 includes ceramic and plastic dishes to accommodate 4 Outdoor Living=outdoor seating for 4 with charcoal BBQ (bring your own charcoal, etc.) Puzzles and games for all ages. Kitchen=Fully equipped with full size refrigerator, microwave, drip coffee maker,dish ware/pots and pans, silverware for up to 4 people, complimentary spices and teas, dining area with seating for 4 General=Complimentary wifi, window A/C in dining area enough linens/blankets, towels, and dishes to accommodate 4 FAQ-Keyless no contact access, external security cameras for added protection. Property was just as described - small, but nice, view of the lake from the outdoor patio furniture, which we enjoyed. Nice, quiet neighborhood, close to all the activities we ended up doing (disc golf, mini golf, restaurants and ice cream). The kayaks were too small to be used by my 6 ft husband and 5 ft 10 inch son, but you could rent kayaks at the marina only a block away (we ended up not, as it was pretty windy).Also, there is not much seating space inside the cottage - just as the pictures describe - the sofa couch in the 2nd room (which is unavailable when the pull-out bed is being used) and the table in the kitchen with the 4 high-top chairs (which were a bit challenging as I am only 5 ft 4 inches tall). The cottage was small overall, but just met our 3-person family needs.Hosts were very accessible by text and accommodating.

We enjoyed our stay. We didn’t use kayaks and paddle boat so can’t speak to their usability. Cottage is small but very cozy. Decorated nice. 2 large tvs. About an hour and half to bridge and to Traverse City. We didn’t do much in Houghton Lake except get groceries for stay and eat a breakfast. Beautiful lake.

Nice place for a short trip. Stayed 3 nights, last day of my trip the water lines froze and i was unable to shower, wash dishes, flush the toilet or access water for anything, including making coffee.
After notifying the host, I received a response approximately 5 hours later. Host did not offer anything to offset the inconvenience of no water.
Although this was an "off season" stay, i still paid a premium which the simple requirement of water could not be provided and a 5 hour delay in response to the concern needs to be addressed.
