Our stay at this hotel was quite nice and very comfortable, making it a great base for exploring, despite a few spatial quirks.
🏨 The Hotel
Impeccable Cleanliness: The entire property was exceptionally clean and well-maintained throughout our stay.
Cozy Rooms: The rooms are on the smaller side, but they are tidy and functional for sleeping.
Unique Layout: It features a slightly odd bathroom setup that takes a little getting used to, but works fine.
Prime Location: It sits in a fantastic spot right in the heart of the historic Alfama district.
The Neighborhood Vibe: The immediate area is geared toward tourists and lacks daily local shops, but it is packed with beautiful, winding nooks and crannies to explore.
🍽️ Excellent Neighborhood Dining
The dining options just steps from the property are a massive highlight of staying here:
The hotel restaurant was very good and the owner was extremely engaging and interesting.
Altar: Located just up the street, this wood-fired spot serves incredible, authentic Portuguese food in a cozy, welcoming atmosphere.
Osteria Bellosguardo: A wonderful hidden gem in the local alleys if you want to change things up with excellent, fresh Italian pasta.

A lot of personality in this hotel. The location is superb - right in the middle of the old town. Plenty of things to see in the immediate area.
The breakfast was sufficient but nothing special. Eggs, breads, fruit and some pastries.
If location is your primary concern, you will not be disappointed.
