About this cabin rental
The Islen-Haus combines comfort and high-quality craftsmanship with modern architecture at the entrance to the Mellental hiking area and in the heart of the Mellau ski resort. It offers a view of the Kanisfluh, while the Mellenbach murmurs quietly in the background. The Islen House is an oasis of time for precious vacation days, the kind that are only possible in the Bregenzerwald. For people who love nature and architecture.

Enjoy the cozy atmosphere, your morning coffee on the covered porch, the peaceful setting with the gentle murmur of the Mellenbach stream and birdsong in your ears, or your very own private sauna after an eventful day of skiing in the nearby Mellau-Damüls-Faschina ski area, which features over 100 kilometers of slopes.
The idea for this “island of time” came from my father, Michael Kaufmann, and my brother, Matthias. Together, they run the Kaufmann carpentry and joinery business in Reuthe and wanted to build an eco-friendly home where the family itself would also enjoy living. That’s why they placed the highest priority on the sustainability and eco-friendliness of the materials! For the planning, they brought on board Michael’s brother Johannes Kaufmann, an architect.
