The place is very characteristic, a historic mansion with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. The furniture is old style, but we loved the experience of sleeping in a more traditional location. Good position to reach downtown walking. The staff is very friendly and helpful and we could leave our luggage at the reception for the whole day while we were waiting for our flight in the evening.
The place could be freshened up a bit, especially the communal areas. The carpet in the room was old and a bit ruined, however the place is overall clean. There is a crowded student pub next to the hotel so it can get a bit loud outside, however our room was facing the back so it was quiet enough for a good sleep. The room has no blackout curtains so it can get really bright in the morning.

We stayed in two different rooms. The second one was better. It is an older facility but the price is good for its excellent location.

The Madison is well located and easy for city transit. The bed was very comfortable. Love having a nice chest of drawers so you can unpack your suitcase (something new hotels often don't have). The room was small but very clean and we had everything we needed. Convenient paid parking behind the hotel. Have stayed before in junior suite and there was lots more room - and worth the upgrade.
Would be nice if they still did a breakfast. Also the entry stairs and carpet could use a refresh.

The location, good to walk to Bloor Street, and other places
The Bar next door is incredibly loud, and noisy- I was on the ground floor, and could hear the heavy doors banging all night and drunk people shouting and screaming up to 3.30 in the morning.
