We never got a heads up for a system failure that actually made it so we couldn't stay at this hotel like we originally planned and booked way ahead off time on booking.com, which was also no refundable. We weren't contacted by phone or email about this. When we got to the hotel and the front desk person didn't try looking us up in the system and just told us to find somehwere else to stay last minute because they were completely booked. We were 3 hours from our hometown and were left scrambling to find an alternative place to stay, but there was nothing left in Grand Rapids. Some guests who were staying there also told us there was black mold in their room. This hotel probably needs to be gutted and remodeled completely and should be reviewed for health violations. Would never recommend a Best Western again because of this expeirence, honestly. When I called customer service through booking.com, they were amazing and got my refund, but the hotel said that we were marked as a "no show" in their books, which is BS because we did, but no one tried looking our appointment up. Systsem failure or not, we should have receieved some notification as soon as it was known. Which guests who were there at the same time as us had arrived way earlier in the day and were promised a room, but they still were told no vacancy upon their return. Try finding another place to stay the night of a huge weekend long music festival at midnight. It just doesn't happen.

Location right off the highway was great.
Very dark and dim. Everything in the room was damp our entire stay. The ventilation sucked and the windows leaked so bad, humidity made the room wet. There was constant condensation all over all of our stuff.

They were able to offer a shuttle for me to get to the airport at 630am.
I felt very unsafe as a woman traveling alone. I asked for a different room when men were watching me through the window of my room; and when they gave me the other room, it was dirty! I had to ask for a 3rd room and it was ajar when I went up to it. I had to stay on the line with my husband while I checked to make sure no one was in it.

I loved how close it was to the airport and I loved that they had a free shuttle . Our room was clean and comfortable.
I don’t like that they said breakfast would be set up at 6 AM and our shuttle left at 6 AM and they were nowhere near being ready for set up. I also didn’t like that the pool was cold, so we were unable to use it.

The pool was large and deep. This was the best part of our stay. New air conditioners in room. Nice large tv, fridge and microwave.
Manager was rude with responses to questions. Beds were caved in and not very comfortable. Breakfast was not advertised correctly. Hotel was fully booked and no place to sit, but were asked not to bring breakfast back to the rooms.

location, ease of access off the freeway
the property apparently didn’t update their information (however that’s done) regarding their room availability. they had no rooms available when we arrived with our booking.com confirmation number. we had to find another hotel nearby at slightly higher cost. very frustrating.

Location was great for activities in Grand Rapids. We used court yard for a small gathering and was nice but could use some grooming of the grounds, but still nice. Staff very pleasant. Beds comfortable. Breakfast had very good options.
Stayed for gvsu graduation. Booked 5 rooms for 12 people in our group. Key cards for just about everyone in our group had constant problems with key cards. Remote for 1 tv didnt work in one unit. Toilet leaking in one unit. Window didnt open in one unit(set screws installed for some reason). House keeping uses lysol to disinfect everything and spray it every where and smell is over whelming perhaps that is good to use for sanitizing but smell is strong. Front desk staff, while very friendly, is very slow especially when u have to constantly reset key cards. Seemed like always a line up at front desk.

Breakfast was perhaps better than one sometimes finds
Constantly running toilet that no-one came to fix. I had to turn its water supply off every night so I could sleep. The gym was not anything worthwhile - no free weights, or weight bench, just aerobic machines. The whole place did not seem clean (although I think the corridor carpet was just a bad design that looked like it had dirt and food squished into it.) The desk chair in the room was torn and shabby, and was far too low even at it's highest setting.

Location was good and the breakfast was also good.
Our room had a musty odor almost like at a dog groomers.

The staff was super friendly, knowledgeable and went above and beyond. The breakfast bar was well stocked and included omelets, sausage, eggs, cereals, fruits, waffles and yogurt. The common areas of the facility were clean and location was easy enough to find.
The room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke and the bathtub had not been cleaned properly. There was pink slime around the drain and surrounding area. I found multiple black hairs in and around both bathrooms. Hallway and adjoining room noise could be heard over the television.

The hotel staff was very professional and nice. The hotel was clean, beds were comfortable, breakfast was the usual with a good selection with both hot and cold food.
Air conditioning unit was VERY loud as it turned on and off in both rooms throughout the night. The first night I though there was a large generator outside the window but this occurred in both rooms. The TV was broken the first night but the staff was able to get it fixed the next day. The hotel is very dated but clean, bathrooms are small.

Floors weren't very clean in my room.
