Denish is really nice and friendly. His mom cooked amazing Sri Lankan breakfasts and a dinner. The garden is gorgeous and feels like jungle out the door. Denish kindly explained about the different plants, including vanilla, cinnamon, curry, and black pepper. There was plenty of hot water with good water pressure.

The rooms aren't amazingly soundproof, so if you are especially sensitive to noise, be sure to pack your earplugs

Die Unterkunft liegt gefühlt Mitten im Dschungel und besteht jeweils aus einem separaten kleinen Häuschen mit kleiner gemütlicher und überdachter Terrasse und „Liegeschaukel“ unter den tropischen Bäumen. Der Gastgeber und seine Eltern sind unbeschreiblich freundlich. Die Mutter kocht zudem hervorragend und wir hatten einen Riesen Spaß beim gemeinsamen kochen mit Mutter und Vater. Sie haben uns gezeigt, wie man in Sri Lanka kocht und wir durften mithelfen. Man merkt, dass es Dinesh eine echte Herzensangelegenheit ist, seine Gäste glücklich zu machen. Dabei erfährt er auch die volle Unterstützung seiner Eltern, die sich um das kulinarische Wohl der Gäste kümmern. Im direkter Nachbarschaft befinden sich einige wunderschöne, rustikale und authentische Restaurants mit hervorragender Küche. Leider hat das Wetter nicht mitgespielt, wofür die Gastgeber jedoch nichts können.

预定的时候，看到好评这么多就很好奇，于是定了。如果能给更高，我会更愿意。整个酒店就是一个大花园，非常非常漂亮。我错过了消息，没有预定，但是丹尼斯妈妈在那么晚的时候，还为我们做了非常正宗的斯里兰卡菜，大家吃的很过瘾。酒店非常干净，设施齐全，一共有两个小木屋和两间房，所以酒店人不多，很安静，我们住的小木屋，漂亮整洁。真想夸夸丹尼斯，很幽默，为我们准备开欢迎饮料，早餐也特别好。如果你来这里，一定要住在这里，会为你的旅程增添很多乐趣。

Very nice hotel in a jungle setting - outstanding experience, couldn't have been better! Dinesh and his family gave an extraordinary service, very charming and helpful in every way. Dinesh even bought a birthday cake, since my birthday fell on one of the days there. Extremely delicious food, bring an empty stomach :-) Rooms are spotless - I haven't seen a cleaner hotel in whole Sri Lanka - thanks very much to Dinesh and his family :-) Kind regards, Janine

Prises électriques en haut du chalet mal conçues, on ne peut pas y brancher nos adaptateurs Il manque éventuellement une porte entre le haut et le bas du chalet : bien pour une famille mais en groupe avec des ronfleurs moins sympa! 😊 Eau brûlante ou froide, il faut choisir!

Dinesh, a huge thanks to you and your family for making our stay so perfect. Your guesthouse is the best thing that happened to us on our Sri Lankan trip - thanks for offering us that warm human experience, we will never forget that. Everything was perfect - very clean room, lovely garden, best breakfasts and homemade dinners. And to top it up - the warmest hosts we ever had in our lives. We had a fantastic stay in the chalet. It has all you need, A/C, power outlets next to the bed, comfortable bed and pillows.. and Dinesh is the best host - funny, always available for a chat or to provide useful information. The breakfast is fantastic, and dinner too! You can really taste true local dishes for great price. I would highly recommend!

Je recommande fortement de séjourner chez Danish, l’endroit est très intimiste et Danish est au petit soin avec sa famille . Très proches de la roche du lion, on peut y aller à pied faut compter 30 min de marche jusqu a l entrée principale du site . J ai aussi dîner sur place , le dîner a été préparer par la mamamn c’était vraiment trop bon .

Oh my goodness, do yourself a favour and stay at Otunna Guest House! Dinesh and his family were the most welcoming hosts and helped us book all of our activities during our stay in Sigiriya. We stayed in the A-Frame hut and it was the nicest place we have stayed in during our past 5 months of travelling. It was tastefully decorated, clean and spacious. The breakfasts were incredible and made with the freshest ingredients. We were so sad when we had to leave!!

We had an amazing stay at the Otunna. Everything about it made this such a memorable time - The lovely welcome served with passion fruit juice,the beautiful tropical garden with the hammock swings, the huge very clean cabin styled rooms with facilities, the absolutely delicious breakfast which filled us for the day and Dinesh’s mum specially made us vegetarian SriLankan food without eggs, and of course, Dinesh who went out of his way to ensure our comfort and was also very knowledgeable on the history and everything about the area. We had a very interesting chat with him. Dinesh arranged a driver for us to travel to Kandy who was great ,stopping wherever we wanted and fitting in with our plans. Our only disappointment was that we were only there for one night. Thank you so much Dinesh and your lovely family. Hopefully we can return to Sri Lanka one day and we will definitely book again.

Dinesh ist unglaublich nett und hilfsbereit! Er hat uns mit allen Anliegen geholfen und viele Empfehlungen ausgesprochen (und Tipps was wir auch nicht machen sollten, was auch sehr hilfreich war) Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön und bequem, die Anlage ist wie ein wunderschöner Dschungel voller Pflanzen (keine Angst es gab nicht mehr Fliegen etc. wie sonst auch überall) Das essen war unglaublich lecker und wird von seiner Mama immer frisch zubereitet

Very well located close to the major attractions & yet it’s lovely jungle style garden setting & super comfortable rooms makes one feel like you are really ‘out there.’ The host Dinesh & his family made me feel very welcome & nothing was too much trouble for them. Be sure not to miss the delicious Sri Lankan style breakfast served on the central deck at a time to suit each guest’s schedule. I highly recommend the Otunna for your stay in Sigiriya.

Absolutely loved everything. Dinesh is incredibly kind and the food prepared by his mother was very good. We had dinner at the place and was fantastic. Room was very clean and well equipped (hairdryer, socket adapter..) The garden was very beautiful

I had a wonderful stay at the Otunna Guest House. The owner is extremely friendly and welcoming, and the location was perfect for relaxing. The room is surrounded by many plants and trees, and it was very peaceful and quiet. The breakfast was the best we had in Sri Lanka! I really enjoyed the fresh juices he made for us! Best place in Sigiriya!!!

Staying at Ottuna Guest House was a truly memorable experience. The host's genuine kindness made us feel like we were part of their family. The ambiance had an authentic indigenous touch, which added a unique charm to our stay. And I can't even begin to describe how delicious the food was – it was hands down the most mouthwatering cuisine we've enjoyed in all of Sri Lanka. Our time at Ottuna was a delightful blend of warmth, culture, and culinary delight that we'll cherish forever.

Dinesh is a wonderful host who was extremely helpful and attentive throughout our stay. He's from the town and clearly has worked extremely hard to create this little 'jungle haven'. The garden is stunning and his Dad is a mine of information about each and every plant. We really recommend this place

That we couldn't have stayed longer!

Everything was perfect. The wood house was sweet and the owner was very friendly. And everyone should try owner’s mom’s home cooking dinner, which was the greatest Sri Lanka food we’ve tried so far.

Absolutely loved everything. Completely adored Dinesh and his family. We were in Sri Lanka for 3 weeks and we both agree this was the best selection of curries, desert and breakfast by far. If you are lucky enough to get a room you won’t regret it. The little tropical jungle is a safe haven for all the little native bird, pure bliss, if you love nature you’ll be in for a treat. Dinesh as well has such a big heart and really cares about nature. Spend a little time talking with him and you’ll gain local insight to Sigiriya and Sri Lanka. This maybe the best hospitality I’ve received, I loved every minute and will definitely return here again.

The beautiful apartments are in the middle of a wild garden that looks like a jungle. The host is incredibly kind and the food his family prepares is amongst the best we had. All fresh and made with love. The perfect place to enjoy the wonders of Sigiriya.
