Lovely Victorian cottage 2 blocks from the bay. Adorable neighborhood. We loved everything about our stay.

This charming cottage is perfect for a relaxing getaway. It is sooo comfortable. My husband and I have been here several times before and will continue to return as we love it so much. It is impeccable, a most comfortable bed, a kitchen that is so adorable, so well equipped and just an enjoyable space. The library full of wonderful books along with beautiful artwork. We enjoyed the coziness of the fireplace with wine in the evening and coffee in the morning. The location is another big plus, close to "lover's point" and beautiful walk along the park and promenade. A quick walk to charming little town of P.G. with wonderful little shops and delicious restaurants. And Barbara, our host, always so quick to respond and give us a little history of the cottage that it feels so much like "our home away from home". Thank you Barbara for sharing your sweet gem with us.

My wife and I spent a week at the cottage. Pacific Grove offers so many opportunities to hike, bike or just enjoy the beautiful Oceanside views of seals and waves crashing in. The cottage was the perfect haven for cooking all our meals and it was well stocked with everything we needed. It was originally built in 1884, and Barbara has it decorated with many historical as well as modern touches. Just exploring the cottage and it’s history was an unexpected bonus. From the convenient parking, to playing games and watching deer walk by from front porch to the quick walk to the ocean this place had everything we could have wanted. We hope to come back soon.

Cottage at the Cove was everything a vacation rental could be, with its amazing location, cleanliness, ample supplies, coziness, and charm. Communication with the owner was fantastic. This property exceeded our expectations and we hope to return often!

The floor is a bit higgledy-piggledy, but that's part of the charm of an old cottage.
Very quiet neighborhood. No earplugs needed!
Very well equipped. Very clean.
There is a natural gas heater in the dining room, and another natural gas "ambiance" heater in the entrance room. Turn the overhead fan on, and you'll be very comfortable. The bathroom is in the back, so it gets a bit chilly. Turning the electric heater on a few minutes before a shower takes care of that.
The best part is how many things are within walking distance --- the ocean, a grocery store, restaurants, take-out places. Even the. aquarium is within reach. We parked our truck and didn't touch it for days.
Super-fast internet (300+ mbps).
Thanks, Barbara, for a memorable stay. We'll be back.

This property was exactly what we needed to relax and rejuvenate!
The location was gorgeous - just a few blocks from the ocean and Lover's Point.
We appreciated the fireplace on cool mornings and evenings in October. It felt like home to us!

Just returned from a 4 day/3 night stay at this well appointed cottage. Barbara was so easy to work with and allowed us to have an early check in and late checkout. Perfect location just a block away from Lovers Point. We walked the beachfront, golfed at Spanish Bay and Pacific Grove, visited the aquarium, Cannery Row and Fisherman's Wharf. PERFECT location that was near everything while also being quiet and peaceful. We would highly recommend this cottage. Thank you Barbara!

I love this cottage. I spent a week here before the pandemic, and was looking forward to coming back. It did not disappoint. In addition to being immaculate and beautifully maintained, it has an overall welcoming warmth that is hard to describe. The weather was colder this time, so I ended up spending less time on the porch and more in front of the excellent fire. I especially love the kitchen, which is large and light-filled, and as fully equipped as any kitchen I have encountered (I am a lone traveler, so the lack of dishwasher has never been a concern). Barbara has clear directions about everything, and if you have any questions, she is quickly responsive. There are some lovely paintings, and a fine, eclectic selection of books, including many about Pacific Grove.

The house was just right for us. We could walk to the coastline trail and restaurants. A car was needed only for outings. We hope to return..

This was a very good property to rent. Only short fall was no dish washer.

This cozy, light-filled 1884 cottage is just a block from Lovers Point in Pacific Grove so we were able to walk along the sea every day accompanied by egrets, pelicans and harbor seals. Even walked to the Farmers Market, restaurants and museum. Our host Barbara was so thoughtful and easy to communicate with.

The cottage could not have been more lovely beautifully appointed and ever so comfortable. A GEM! We enjoyed a relaxed stay with lots of reading, long walks and a visit to the Pacific Grove Museum, a new and special treat.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The host was lovely. It was very clean and conveniently located to Lovers’ Point Beach and to downtown Pacific Grove. We will definitely stay here again.

For us, this is THE only place to stay in PG

We have stayed in this cottage many times, its location just a block from downtown Pacific Grove and two blocks from the ocean (and bike path) is ideal. The inside is immaculate and comfortable, with a good heater and gas fireplace in the living room. It includes passes for various sites and even a nice bottle of wine!
For the first time, however, parking was less convenient. The parking is on the street, and there has always been space for our single vehicle nearby the cottage. However, during this four-day visit, there was not, it appeared that another property was using multiple vehicles. Its not a big deal, we were able to park within about two blocks on another street.

This historic cottage was spotless and decorated nicely. The kitchen was well stocked, the bedroom and living room were very comfortable, and it was cool enough for me to use the fireplace. It was great to be one block from the beach and be able to walk to Cannery Row (about 1 mile) and downtown PG (up the street). The neighborhood was so quiet and I'm looking forward to returning. A VRBO trip is always better when the host responds quickly and leaves some personal touches in the house and Barbara did just that. Thank you!

I have always wanted to stay at one of these historical houses in Pacific Grove. This house did not disappoint. Although old, it is well taken care of. Between the housekeeping, the gardening, the lovely note and welcome bottle of wine, you feel at home. So many wonderful thoughtful comforts added. Every little space utilized. We walked the Lover’s Point trail each morning with coffee, which is only a block away. Full kitchen was well stocked and easy to cook in. We were in town for a music festival so we didn’t get to use the aquarium passes, but so generous that they’re provided. I will definitely come back to stay again. This is a perfect gem for a couples trip.

This was the most well appointed place we have ever stayed and we have been using vacation rentals annually since 2004. Such attention to detail and tastefully decorated. On a quiet street but within walking distance of the beach, restaurants, and much more. California dreamin’ if a return trip!

Close to downtown and Lovers Point. Always a treat to be on the Pacific coast!

Omigosh, we had the most lovely visit at this property. The cottage is darling, the owner has worked hard to maintain the history of the dwelling and there were many sweet amenities. Her welcome to us from our first email conversation was what really sealed the deal. We had a great time exploring the area: The Monterey Bay Aquarium (don't miss that), the 17 Mile Drive (don't miss that either), the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary (we saw some even though it's at the end of the season), the walk along Lover's Point and dinner at the Beach House Restaurant....the list goes on. We had breakfast every day in the kitchen of the cottage and it was so relaxing. We were looking for a getaway after all of the cooped up Covid time and this was it! The cottage rests in a tranquil neighborhood and we think that's far superior to being in a busy hotel with cars and trucks and loads of people...all the neighbors were delightful. Thank you Barbara for a great visit - we'll be back!

Barbara’s cottage is very nice and is in an ideal location—about a block and a half from Lovers’ Point and the beautiful coastal walk. In the other direction, it’s just a few blocks to downtown Pacific Grove, shops, and restaurants. The living room has a gas fireplace, which we appreciated in the cool mornings and evenings. WiFi worked well, and kitchen is well equipped (could use a pizza pan and pizza cutter though!!). She left us a nice bottle of wine too! I especially enjoyed her collection of china in a vintage built-in cabinet. My husband loved Peets coffee every morning in her 2 giant coffee mugs. I always appreciate vacation rentals that have the basics of spices and condiments, and Barbara had more than just the basics. A great place to stay and enjoy California’s gorgeous coastline.

This cottage has it all. Quiet neighborhood close to Lovers Point and downtown Pacific Grove. The house itself is charming and extremely well appointed. Barbara, the owner, is a delight to deal with and has supplied her cottage with everything you could possibly need or want and the some. It is also immaculately clean. We spent an amazing 4 days here and would definitely come back.

Love our stay for my husbands 40th birthday! Location is great! Right at lover’s Point, 1 minute walk to the ocean, free 2 people pass to Monterrey aquarium that we didn’t use because you need your vacation card and we didn’t have on us. Love welcome card and nice bottle of wine. We even got to barbecue on small nice charcoal grill! Thank you Barbara’! Love your place.

We’ve stayed here numerous times and it is always such a great place to stay and Barbara is the perfect host as she is always readily available if needed. The house is in very short walking distance of the beach & crashing waves & the Beach House Restaurant is also very close by with superb food & with tables looking out over the ocean. Barbara has guest passes to the Monterey Bay Aquarium so we always visit there & then enjoy the wharf & other attractions of Monterey. The house is very cozy with books and antiques and Barbara keeps “The Cottage at the Cove” well-stocked with essentials. This is about the most stress-free, easy to stay in place we have even been.
