We had a nice stay at Luigi's property - you can't beat this location! The apartment is close to most of the major attractions in Rome - the Vatican, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Trastevere, Campo De Fiori are all within ~15 minute walk, and there are plenty of restaurant options and shopping very close by. The Colosseum was about a 30 minute walk. The layout of the apartment is better suited for a small family (which we were), as there is not much of a common area besides the small kitchen. The layout is not conducive to remote working / Zoom calls, but I had not originally intended to work while I was there. The wifi signal is pretty good though. Would highly recommend staying at this apartment!

This is a basic apartment. Clean and spacious with great location
Stairs are pretty narrow and steep

Great location and in walking distance to all the attractions. However the apartment was misleading when advertised as a 2 bedroom. It was a 1 bedroom apartment which had a bed in the living room instead of a couch. No privacy and very misleading! The kitchen was not stocked at all and barely had enough glasses for 5 of us. Communication was good with the owner before checking in.

It was adequate for one night. Room was not ready at check in time. Nice to have place to store luggage. Bring a lock to secure it. About 30 minute walk to piazza navona and coliseum. Would recommend for a quick night turn but not any longer. Great for two people at best.

Nice apartment in the middle or Rome, very clean with high ceilings. As a base of operations, its great - however if you are intending to stay in the apartment a lot, then it may feel a little dark, there is a window in the kitchen onto the street that lets in light, however the rest of the apartment is a little dark, there is a window in the main bedroom but that is into the central space . . . but, this is Rome and that’s how building are. Would have to say the shower is a little tight if you are not on the petite side ! A/C in the main bedroom works well to cool the whole apartment, appliances are good and work well - overall, great apartment for getting out and seeing Rome, which is basically on your doorstep.
Luigi is very nice and easy to deal with as well as being very responsive.

Our favorite part was location.. lost of restaurants and lot of things to discover at walking distance. The Host was also good, even working with us to get earlier check in. A couple of points to consider. If you are renting out specially apt#2, get ready to climb real narrow and steep stairs.. 3 levels as the ground floor doesnt count. Staircases are dark and you have to flip the switch right at the entrance, if not you aré walking in complete darkness. We left our bags in the courtyard unattended initially but all okay, it was an uneasy feeling because others had access. The garbage container is at the entrance and gave the entire staircase a very fowl smell. Once inside, the property is well maintenaned and very clean. Bring your own amenities if you are staying several days. We were provided with the basics for a family of 5 and had go out and buy our own supplies. Finally there is only 1 a/c unit to power the entire apartment. If you are in the bedroom where the unit is ….you will be freezing, however anywhere outside the bedrooms it will be warm. We stayed July 2023. BTW… there is a little cafe called FICO great for breakfast and dinner if you are in this property.

We had a fantastic stay at this property. The property manager, Luigi, was communicative and helpful. It is a charming apartment in a fantastic location. It was easy for us to walk to many of the major sites in Rome. There were also amazing shops and restaurants just down the street. Unlike many other properties, there is air conditioning! Despite the late check in, we were able to store our luggage in the courtyard. Great stay!

We really enjoyed our stay, mainly because of the location which is within walking distance from a lot famous tourist attractions.

The property is an apartment with sleeping enough for 6 in the middle of the Navona neighbourhood. Luigi is an excellent communicator, which was an important part of making our family's first visit to Rome much more comfortable.

I would call this property rustic, gave us the feel of actually living in Rome. Everything was clean and functional. Location was just perfect for us, a few blocks off of the Piazza Navona. Had good communication with the host. Very simple check in process.

The apartment is in a great location but everything in it is cheap. The mattress was hard as a rock, the towels were awful, the kitchen which we didn’t even use was furnished cheaply, the bathroom was just ok, the A/C barely kept us cool, and the lights in the bedroom were barely allowing us to see
4.0
Great communication from the host. It was not clear that only the bedroom had AC so those who slept on the sofa bed were a bit too warm.

We really enjoyed our stay at this Rome apartment. Easy to get to, and a short walking distance to almost all the attractions there were to see. Apartment had all the necessities for city living.

This was a clean, safe property and a good value. There were restaurants and shops close by but about a 15 - 30 minute walk to most of the main attractions. Public transit was just a few minutes away. The property was very basic with 3 large beds. No real sitting area except the kitchen table. We didn’t spend a lot of time in the room so it was not an issue. The shower was very small. It was very handy having a small washing machine in the unit. The air conditioning was also welcome for the hot summer days. The staircase into the unit was very narrow - if you had large luggage it may be an issue.
Overall for the price it was a good value. The host always answered emails promptly.

First night in Italy and traveling up north. Crashed after flying in from JFK. We were able to visit some key sites in the morning before heading out—prime location.

Feel Roma there. Excellent location, huge bedroom with AC. Just be aware that the double bed is in the entrance hall. Very small kitchen, but OK to have breackfast.

The location is amazing on a quiet street. The price is also very affordable. The apartment was a bit dark but as long as you aren’t there a lot it’s perfect. My only complaint is that you can hear the people above walking because there are no rugs on the floors which was at times disruptive in the very early morning or late night. The man who checks you in is on time and very kind. It is very good for a family of four.

This property was clean and property managers were extremely responsive, accommodating and easy to deal with. I couldn’t believe the value.

We rented the apartment for 6 nights and enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and proximity to good restaurants and major sights. The apartment itself would be perfect for a family, but for 2 couples was not ideal. The second bedroom is what should be the living room (it has the TV) and you walk into it immediately upon entering the apartment. The kitchen is very small and was the only common area for us to sit together. For us it would have been better to have the one real bedroom with 2 queen beds and the other room a living room with sofa and chairs. The kitchen has no oven, only microwave but otherwise functioned well. The apartment was clean and it was nice to have a washing machine too.

Booking this apartment was very easy and the owner's were very responsive. The apartment was just as advertised. It isn't fancy, but met our needs.
The only CON on the apartment itself is that there is no room to hang out as the living area was converted to a bedroom. We did have food baked all over the bottom of a pot that was put away as clean so I would advise washing dishes before using.
The apartment is the perfect home base for a sightseeing trip to Rome. We walked everywhere and it was fabulous. It was easy to find grocers close by and within easy walking distance to the incredible farmer's markets at Campo di Fiori. We would definitely recommend to anyone sightseeing in Rome.

Homeaway, can you be more specific about what I cannot post! This is getting ridiculous!
Hello to everyone.
This review will be in 2 parts. Part 1 will consist of how cool this place is, and part 2 will consist of my advice to future Americans who stay in Rome.
Part 1:
This place is a great deal for a couple of reasons. I don't know what rate everyone else will get, but our rate was basically a $100 a day or less.
Secondly, even if this place sucked (which it doesn't) the location is perfect. Because you don't really need to catch a ride that much, it is a big savings. You are simply surrounded by beautiful scenery and restaurants.
Third, the Gulbe's (owners) are great people. Anything you need, they are more than happy to help. I can't really say that for most hotels.
Lastly, you have everything you need at the apartment. It's clean, there is a stocked kitchen with dishes, utensils, and glasses. If you wanted to stay in and cook, there are plenty of grocery stores with 200 yards.
PART 2:
1. Transportation to and from the Airport. Please, please let the Gulbe's handle this for you. Don't be some stupid American who thinks, "Oh, I will just get a better deal on my own". I don't think so! If you let the Gulbe's do it, you are looking at 60-70 Euros. If you do it on your own, you are looking at like a 100-120 Euros.
2. Groceries in the apartment. Once you arrive and get orientated, you can go get your own groceries, but I would recommend asking the Gulbe's to get some essential items before you arrive. Remember, you just got off of a 10 hour flight. Do you really want to go grocery shopping? No, I didn't think so. Don't go crazy with your list, but if you concentrate on the essentials, the Gulbe's will be glad to help out.
3. Mobile phone sim card. In Italy overall, Vodafone is the main mobile provider. Assuming you have a cell phone that is unlocked and takes a sim card, I would recommend letting the Gulbe's to buy it for you. If you buy it from the Airport, it will cost you around 25 Euro. The Gulbe's can get it for 5 Euro or less. You will need a couple of sim cards while you are here.
4. Transportation around the city. DO NOT USE THE TAXI'S!!! The Taxi's are the biggest rip off ever! Instead invest in the OPEN TOUR BUS. There are like 3 or 4 to choose from. It costs 22 euro a day, or you can buy a whole week for like 90 Euro.

This is a fantastic place to stay. It is in a narrow street in the heart of Old Rome, so close to the Vatican City, Pantheon etc. that we could walk everywhere. The Piazza Navone is 1 minute away. Many restaurants (IL FICO indeed is the best) and a grocery store are closeby. The view from the kitchen to the small street is fantastic, specially late night when in the streetlights it looks like a scenery from an old movie. The rooms are quiet and spacious. Everything worked, including the intenet. Luigi was helpful and professional. I would love to go back!

This apartment was a great find. The location is unbeatable. It was clean, with good kitchen and bathroom facilities. All of our children slept in the large bedroom with two double beds. Windows provided adequate light. Absolutely quiet at night. It is not an apartment with any excess hang-out areas, but in this location in Rome, the hanging out should not be in the apartment.

We loved staying at this apartment. This was our first time staying at a holiday apartment instead of a hotel. I don't think we will ever stay in a hotel again. The apartment owners were extremely accommodating. They answered any questions we had within a couple of hours. They arranged for a private driver to pick us up from the airport, which decreased our stress level of trying to get to the apartment. We arrived at the apartment 2 1/2 hours before check-in; the apartment owners gave us a place to store our bags so we could begin our site seeing. This was such a blessing.
The location of the apartment is very convenient. Within a 10-15 minute walk you could be at any of the sites. The layout of the apartment was perfect for us. There were three beds; plenty of closets for hanging up clothes; and enough kitchen chairs for us to sit at the table. The apartment had a washer in it; which was a blessing for us with two kids. The apartment was very clean; especially compared to my house that I just left (packing...yuk!). I would recommend this apartment...and if we get the chance to go back to Rome...this is the apartment we will rent again. Thank you Elina for everything.

The apartment is situated in the centre of Rome within walking distance to St Peters, Piazza Navona, Campo Fiori, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Colosseum/Forum/Palatin, Vittoria Emanual monument, Via Condotti and Spanish Steps, plus all the other squares, fountains, statues and churches in between. It really is as good as it sounds.
The apartment is in a lovely, very old, very traditional Roman building with windows overlooking two central courtyards and onto the street.
There was plenty of room for a family of two adults and two teenagers. We missed a sofa to relax on at the end of long days walking but the layout of beds gave us plenty of room to sleep.
The kitchen was adequate and allowed us to prepare breakfast and sandwiches for lunch, and there are small supermarkets nearby. It was good to be able to keep drinks cold, and be able to make our own tea and coffee. During the night it was incredibly quiet and dark which was quite surprising considering it is so central.
There are so many restaurants around - it was great to be able to get back to your apartment after long days walking, have a rest and then step outside to a huge selection of restaurants within 10mins walk.
We had a great time in Rome and I think this apartment was the key, being so central, roomy and traditional.
The owner was very pleasant and helpful, we arrived early and left late but we were able to leave our bags safely.

Six of us, my daughter, her husband and 3 teenage children and myself, spent 12 days in this apartment in January 2011. It was just perfect for our needs, so close to all the attractions and within walking distance of nearly all of them. The apartment is clean and comfortable and very well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Close by there is a supermarket and many restaurants and gelato shops. We also went by train to Florence for the day and although very cold it was a most enjoyable day. Elina and her husband Luigi are most helpful, answering all my emails promptly. Thank you both for a very memorable stay.

My family had a wonderful stay at this apartment. The owners lived right upstairs and helped us whenever we needed it. We were able to walk to all the major sites including the Roman Ruins, the Vatican, etc. There were tons of good restaurants nearby and the apartment was nice and quiet to sleep. I would definitely recommend it as a great alternative to a hotel! It was so nice to have a home base to come back to. Some nights when we were exhausted, we went to the nearby grocery store and brought food back to the apartment. It was nice to have a dining room table and small kitchen at your disposal. Both beds were comfortable and I was definitely sad to leave!
