Radiant 1866 Home on Jones, the \"Prettiest Street in the South.\"
About this house rental
Located in Savannah, this attractive house for R 7,022 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. **Most weekends have at least a 3-night minimum. Please send an inquiry before requesting to book** The authentically restored beautiful historic home will allow you to live like a local in the center of the historic district of Savannah, steps from all the sights. Built in 1866 as part of the Ruckert Row on Jones Street, considered by most to be the prettiest street in the South. A two-story, 3 Bedroom (convertible to 4BR with a murphy bed in the den) / 3 Bath home with a remodeled kitchen. Original heart pine floors, exposed brick, ten-foot ceilings, four non-working original fireplaces, authentic Victorian furniture and decor, gas lamps, a peaceful courtyard, and all the modern amenities which allow you to relax in the charm of the 'Hostess City." The open double parlor (living room and dining room) is a perfect place to relax in the comfortable leather couches or to eat your home-cooked meal. Off the remodeled kitchen there is a cozy den which can be converted into a 4th bedroom with it's Murphy Bed. The tranquil courtyard is recently rebuilt and landscaped, giving shade in the summer, and full of sun during the winter, where you can enjoy your morning coffee, eat a meal, or just take things slow like a local, sipping on your favorite drinks. The back bedroom has a balcony on the second floor, great for sunning, overlooking the courtyard (and the St. Paddy's Day Parade route). Two of the full bathrooms are upstairs: The master bath has a shower and the other, which is shared between the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms, has a shower/tub. The third full bathroom is downstairs and has a tub with a handheld showerhead. Check-in is after 4 pm and Check-out is before 12 pm. These times are usually firm but occasionally could possibly be flexible if the calendar is not full before and/or after your stay, but you must check with me and get approval before. You will have full access to the entire house, courtyard, and private driveway with parking for two vehicles. **Instructions for entry to the house will be unlocked after you book beginning one week prior to your stay, on the website and the app under My Trips. You will also receive a Welcome Guide email 7 days prior to your stay with the information** 8 adult guests are my capacity by law and I cannot make exceptions. I don't allow bachelor or bachelorette weekends or any similar type get togethers, or any party weekends or parties. I will allow pets on a case by case basis, but there will be an extra fee (usually $100 but depends on the situation/number and size of pets/etc. You must coordinate with me ahead of time and get permission. **I have a strict cancellation policy, so it might be desirable for you to purchase trip cancellation insurance in case you have an emergency arise. Allianz and CSA are some of the big companies, but there are many options** I ask if you are staying for longer than a weekend, that you do me a favor and make sure the plants inside don't get too thirsty. I have a landscaper named Belvin, middle-aged and missing a few teeth and walks with a limp, a very nice guy. You may see him working out front, or possibly watering plants in the back which he does a few times during the week in the mornings. Short Term Vacation Rental Permit - SVR-00347

Very cozy Savannah style home on the most beautiful street. We were close to everything. Being next door to Clary’s for breakfast was wonderful. Highly recommend.

The house is amazing and the location is perfect. It also has parking spots for two vehicles. You are in walking distance to all the action with a scenic view along the way. Great people and town is awesome. This property is well taken care of, along with a great host.

Our family had a great time in Savannah and the home is in a perfect location to explore the city by foot. Powell was a great host and everything was as listed.

Powell’s house was perfect in every way for us. We had 5 adults and 3 kids 7mo-4yrs and used all 3 bedrooms and the den with the Murphy bed. We were in Savannah for our daughter’s wedding and only 10 minutes from the venue and walking distance to some of the historic highlights. Unfortunately it rained pretty much every day but Saturday and Sunday so our none wedding activities were not what we had hoped for. Having said that if you get the opportunity to visit Savannah we would highly recommend this house. Powell has a unique collection of items throughout his home from his travels and it is tastefully and comfortably decorated and furnished….and oh my goodness the BEDS!!! Almost too comfy! 😉

The absolute best location for visiting Savannah! Easy walking distance to anywhere you’d want to go! Plus, it’s right next door to an awesome breakfast spot, Clary’s! The house was beautifully restored and very comfortable to stay in.

Beautiful historic home on a beautiful street. Walking distance to just about everything, short drive to Bonaventure Cemetery. Powell was a great host, we will definitely book here again!

We all had a lovely time here in Savannah and loved our stay in this home! Everything was clear and thought out in an easy meticulous manner which made our visit easy and laid back. We felt like this was our second home and look forward to another visit! Powell was an exceptional host making sure everything was just like you would want your own home to be presented and comfortable. Thanks for a great experience!

This lovely home is in the center of the beautiful historic district. All the amenities you could ask for. Highly recommend.

Its location is only blocks away from a number of historical sites of Savannah. Any number of shops and restaurants and Savannah's River Walk are within walking distance. The home itself worked great for our group of seven. We only drove once during our stay to see the Bonaventure Cementery and visit Tybee Island (we ate at the Crab Shack).

We had a great trip and the house was wonderful! It was perfectly located and close to everything. Powell was great to communicate with and we had everything we needed at the house. There were 5 of us and we fit comfortably. I would definitely stay here on our next visit.

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful 2 night 3 day stay with my brother and sister-in-law in Powells wonderfully beautiful historic home in downtown historic Savannah. We had a wonderful time exploring his beautiful home and the beauty of Savannah that surrounded us. All in all we had a wonderful time and did not want to leave! Thank you Powell!

This house is great, and it’s right next to Clary’s, in a really charming neighborhood! Powell was very helpful in recommending places to eat, and with answering questions. The beds were clean and comfortable, as was the house. We were able to walk to some great spots and then come home to cool off and relax.

A lovely few days, walking distance to pretty much everything!

Perfect location for exploring Savannah. House was comfortable and with its own parking(big plus). May not be good if you have issues with stairs as it is an old house with a narrow and steep staircase with bedrooms upstairs. Easy communication with owner and access to property. Clarys cafe right around the corner. TV antenna was a bit sketchy, basic cable would have been nice. Overall 5 stars.

Nice historic property located within walking distance of many favorite sightseeing destinations and restaurants. We would definitely recommend this property.

Wonderful home we rented - in Savannah for a family wedding. Had everything we needed - a Keurig, iron and ironing board, fully stocked house! Highly recommend this property - it was perfect for 5 of us age 17 and up. I wouldn’t stay here with more people unless they’re younger children.

We stayed in this absolutely lovely home during our recent girls'
trip to Savannah. Staying in this historical home made us feel we were living back in the 1800's...We loved exploring the city and taking history tours and then returning to our own home from a bygone era. We also loved having breakfast every morning at Clary's--right next door--The best pancakes ever!

A step back in time, in a charming home which is decorated accordingly. My family ranges in age, 15, 19, 34, 43, 65, 70, and we All thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The property is clean and comfortable, yet elegant and interesting. It's location did get a bit noisy in the mornings, being next to a very nice Cafe, but it was all part of the Savannah experience! Great Stay!

Loved, loved, loved this location & the home itself!! We walked almost everywhere we wanted to go. We spent very little time indoors because there was so much to see & do. We enjoyed the private courtyard every morning & evening. The home is filled with antiques & original artwork. Powell was an amazing host. He responded immediately to questions. He had a neat little book to welcome guests which had everything we needed to know about the home & the area. The bed I slept in was awesome. I would definitely stay in this home again. Location, location, location!

Great location, spacious and comfortable. Our family of five had a great stay. Perfect location near Forsyth park. Quick walk to the river. Easy check-in and out. Courtyard was a bonus.

Excellent location, convenient to everything. Savannah is a walking town and we felt safe to walk at midnight. The beds were a little to high for us but manageable, we would stay here again. Best feature it was pet friendly

My family and I had the pleasure of staying at this historic home. It was our first time in Savannah and we had no idea how fortunate we were to have found a home within walking distance of downtown (shops, restaurants, walking tours, and the riverfront). The diner next door has an amazing breakfast and lunch option and closes by 4PM so no noise in the evening.
The home is clean and has so many unique amenities (large library, 2nd floor balcony, private courtyard, Nintendo 64 [my kids were fascinated by the historic console], and a well-stocked kitchen).
The Host is accessible and gives very detailed instructions. Look forward to booking again.

Our family of 6 had a wonderful stay from start to finish. The house is in a perfect location and well within walking distance to Forsythe Park and River Street. Clary's Cafe is right next door and has great breakfast and lunch options. The house is super clean, beautifully decorated, has comfortable beds, and had everything we needed throughout our stay. We will definitely return on future visits to Savannah.

We rented this property for our family vacation July 2022. The location was great and we were able to enjoy the entire historic district.
The property owner left fantastic information and advice on his recommendations for food, drinks, etc.
We could not have asked for a better place to accommodate our large family!

I rented this beautiful historic home for a 3-day trip with my husband, my brother, a family friend, and my father. The location is perfect for walking to all of the sites and a quick 20-minute drive to Tybee Island. The home, courtyard, and street are beautiful. The beds are very comfortable (my husband is a disabled vet with spinal issues and even he said the bed felt good). Water pressure is very strong in the showers. The home is nicely furnished with everything you could need. Everything was very clean and check in and check out was easy.
The downstairs bathroom has a tub with a handheld shower head but no shower curtain. It can be used for bathing but is a bit tricky to prevent getting water on the floor/walls. The upstairs bathroom is shared between 2 bedrooms. The light above the sink has a pull chain to turn it on but I'm 5'4" and couldn't reach it without assistance. Note that if you are in the back bedroom (with the balcony) and someone is in the bathroom, you have to go through the other bedroom to get out of your room. Wasn't a problem for us but something to consider if you have late sleepers who don't want people coming through their room while they're asleep. The master bedroom and bathroom was perfect for my 84 year old father as it has a step in shower (no tub) so I didn't have to worry about him getting in and out of a tub. The cafe next door has good food but gets very busy. We found it was faster to phone in an order for takeout and bring it back to the courtyard to enjoy.
The bedroom on the back with the alley does get a bit noisy early in the morning (around 5:30-6 am) with deliveries to the Cafe and workers and customers arriving. Noise on the front side of the house was very minimal so even though you're in the heart of everything, you'll still get a great night's sleep.
I would gladly stay in this beautiful house again.

A lovely place but I had two problems. You have to go through four locks to get into the house the first time. All he would need is a lockbox at the front door. The other shortcoming is that one of the beds is so high up that you need special steps to get up and down.

This home was perfect for four long time girlfriends. The location could not be better, home has everything you need, comfortable beds, linens and kitchen items. We definitely felt part of Savannah, taking advantage of all the restaurants, rooftops and so much history with every step. Powell was quick to respond, has a book of recommendations that were spot on for us. And Powell, thank you for your service sir!
