Situated in Savannah, this charming cottage for R 4,224 per night is a great choice for your next break. The circa 1900 single story Captain's Cottage (SVR-00096) is an exquisitely decorated 2 bedroom 2 bath cottage situated just 2 houses from Washington Square, perhaps Savannah's most beautiful square. From the front porch you can look across the street to see the famous, Pirate's House Restaurant & Tavern. The Cottage is decorated with a wonderful collection of period antiques as well as comfortable Southern style furnishings. One of the most striking features are the sparkling chandeliers scattered throughout the home. The home features 2 bedrooms with queen beds; one with en-suite bath, comfortably sleeps 4. Each bed is covered with high quality linens, quilt coverlets and comfy pillows. The second full bath also features a new large capacity front load washer and dryer. Both baths are stocked thirsty towels. The living room features 2 armchairs, comfy sofa and large television. There are 4 decorative fireplaces throughout the Cottage to add wonderful ambiance & charm. The kitchen was renovated with granite countertops and all new stainless steel appliances including a full size refrigerator, range, microwave and dishwasher. The cabinets are fully stocked with all your cooking and dining needs; glassware and dinnerware for 8 as well a set of Paula Deen cookware, generous supply of bowls, utensil's and accessories. Also there is a coffee maker & toaster. The kitchen is complimented with a breakfast nook and crystal chandeliers. The dining room hosts a 4 seat dining table with glass top which beautifully reflects the light of the chandelier above. Across the room is a lovely Victorian double framed mirror. Just outside the side door, sits a petite stone courtyard and is perfect for enjoying that morning coffee, reading or an evening nightcap. The Cottage is PET FRIENDLY so that you may bring your best friends on your perfect vacation. The petite courtyard is perfect for them to enjoy, as well as having Washington Square nearby. Our community is very dog friendly; the neighbors with their dogs gather in the Square in the afternoons and welcome our visitors join. It is also great fun to take them down to the dog park just a few blocks down. Many restaurants have outside dining and allow you to dine with your pups. Most will offer them a water bowl and a treat. There is a generous supply of on-street parking right in front of the Cottage. If you prefer a garage, one is conveniently located just 1.5 blocks West. The Captain’s Cottage property was clean, had all the amenities one would need for a stay, and was centrally located within walking distance to much of what Savannah has to offer. Granted, we like to walk and explore (aka grab cocktails) as we go - but we walked down through and past Forsyth Park to 40th St without issue.
Charles was responsive with all communications and reached out to ensure we were enjoying our stay.
When we decide to revisit Savannah I will undoubtedly be looking into again staying at The Captain’s Cottage.

I stayed here three nights with my husband and my parents for my graduation ceremony in Savannah. Based on the reviews, I had high expectations, and the property exceeded my expectations! I was surprised by how spacious the house is; the photos gave me the impression that it would be smaller. It also felt MUCH cleaner than any hotel, and we all felt incredibly comfortable staying there.
It is in a great location - we never drove anywhere (outside of the graduation). I brought my small dog, and the area was perfect to walk her in. Plenty of green space close by. Charles checked in periodically and was responsive. We would absolutely come back!

The host is amazing !!! The property was fully stocked and a great location. All of our questions were answered immediately. The house had such a taste of old south. Do not miss a stay here.

Let me first start off saying that Charles is a fabulous host! He checked on us to make sure things were ok and if we needed anything. He was fast to respond to any questions we had. The house was wonderful and the decor was with the time period of the house. The house was spacious for us 5 and extremely clean, great beds and plenty of hot water! The kitchen, though we did not cook, is full of anything you would need to prepare meals. Cabinet was stocked with coffee, filters, sugar and sugar substitutes, not the hotel size but full size (thank you) and the mugs in the freezer were a welcome treat! The neighborhood is very quiet, beautiful square at end of block and Pirates House at other end of block. We walked home after midnight and felt very safe. Location is superb! Close to restaurants, bars, City Market, River front, museums, it had it all! We actually saw the Christmas parade located a short walk from the house, that was amazing! The weather was perfect, had to run the AC! It was a great time with family. I would recommend the Captain's Cottage to anyone! And one more item, there is minimal that you have to do to check out just pack your personal items and walk out the door!! Thanks Charles for a fantastic time.

The communication with the host was stellar. As we were on the road, the host contacted us about an issue with a window blind and it was fully repaired before we arrived. The house is small, but the two bathroom, two bedroom structure was just right for the three of us and our little Havanese. We appreciated it being dog friendly. The location is great, as it is not far from the river walk and other popular places. it has modern amenities and old world charm. We would definitely stay here again!

My family and I all felt so comfortable at the Cottage. Charles checked in w us and was there to answer each and every question I had. The cottage was immaculate, and well equipped-down to the frozen beer glasses in the freezer and q tips in the bathroom. The location is perfect and within a 15 minute walk to anywhere you want to go. The she-crab soup at the Pirate House is a MUST HAVE.
We will absolutely stay in this beautiful home on our next trip to Savannah.

We had a wonderful stay. The location is perfect. Easy walking distance to the many restaurants and historic areas. House was very clean and all was as stated in listing. We had a small issue with the thermostat. Charles was very responsive and quick to get us fixed up! Really good experience! Would absolutely stay here again.

We spent a long weekend in Savannah and really enjoyed staying at Captains Cottage. The house had a great location and was perfect for our stay. We somehow managed to leave a pair of shoes and Charles was kind enough to mail them to us. If we were back in the area we would definitely stay here again.

The cottage was well-kept and clean. Charles was very communicative and checked in often. The cottage is well stocked with pots, pans, and dishes. The location of the cottage is just minute's walk from most places in the historic district. It is a beautiful area! We parked our car for the entire trip. We had a wonderful time! We took our tiny dog on walks everywhere. Just wonderful! We can not wait to visit again.

We stayed at the Captain's Cottage while visiting Savannah for our nephew's wedding. The location of this cottage is perfect. The decor and warm charm made us feel at home the moment we walked through the door. The neighborhood itself felt as if we were in a perfectly illustrated southern magazine with oaks and gardens everywhere. All of the shops and restaurants were within a safe walking distance and parking was easy! To top it all off, we enjoyed a storybook wedding with family. A Perfect Weekend!!! Thank you!!!

We really enjoyed our trip to Savannah. The house is a beautiful and updated older home. Very comfy and cozy and clean. We were able to park our car and walk to shopping and restaurants. The tour we took picked us up at the Pirates House. Everything we needed was supplied. The owner supplied us with all information that we needed prior to checking in. I highly recommend this house! Can't say enough good things about the house, location and overall experience. We do a lot of VRBO rentals and this one is at the top. Charles was constantly in communication, didn't need to reach out to him, he was reaching out to us before, during and after our stay. The location in the historical district is perfect to walk to restaurants, bars or just stroll around Savannah and the Riverwalk. The house itself is beautiful, well taken care of, decorated so cute, so quaint. The house and overall experience has set the bar high for future Savannah visits. We will definitely return!

This lovely home was the perfect combination of historic charm and modern convenience. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Cleanliness, and ease of check in/check out set this property apart. You can’t get much better than this location! Walkable to most hotspot attractions downtown. We were very pleased with our stay, left a piece of our hearts in Savannah and will be returning guests!!
