About this house rental
Welcome to The Penngrove A-Frame! This beautiful home is the perfect get-a-way for your family and friends. The home is located on a private vineyard and olive grove. Set on top of a hill, and adjacent to a 100+ acre ranch, there are miles and miles of views looking out towards Bodega Bay. The sunsets are truly breathtaking. The property is situated on 5 acres, and includes a tennis court and a bocce ball court with plenty of patio furniture to host a beautiful outdoor lunch or host sundowner cocktails. 1 king and 3 queen beds, a beautiful A-Frame living room, and two family rooms to relax, watch movies and play games in. The downstairs family room is set up as a movie theater, a perfect retreat for you and your kids (with a queen bed). Downstairs bar room opens up to a patio for outdoor dining and great sports bar feel with a foosball table (more info below). Families: There is a pack-and-play as well as a full sized fold up crib. Lots of toys and books for kids. There are 2.5 bathrooms: 1 full bath on the main level, one upstairs in the main bedroom suite area, and a half bath downstairs. The downstairs area is set up for you and your family to hang out! There is a bar with seating to watch sports, a foosball table, a sitting area for wine tasting, a wine cellar and a movie theater style family room. This area opens up to a large patio with a gas fire pit, outdoor dining area and a pizza oven (off limits during fire season). The house is fully stocked with plenty of extra sheets and towels, as well as sheets for the pack and play and the full sized crib. Please note, our rental permit restricts us from allowing more than 8 guests (not including children under 2). Several TVs with Dish Network service provided or access to your own streaming accounts. Wi-Fi provided. We hope to make your family vacation one for the memory books! Location note: If you'd like to map out a few places, use Crane Creek Park's parking lot on Presley Road as a starting point, and add 10 minutes to that. The house is about 10 minutes up the hill from Crane Creek Park.

I am obsessed with this home and will definitely be coming back. The photos can't do it justice because the views are 100x more beautiful in real life. Chelsea and Brett were beyond communicative (and so kind!) regarding check-in, house info, and other questions my group had. The house is exceptionally clean, especially compared to other rentals I've had in the past. You can tell they really care about and maintain this property well! We ended up staying in the house for full days instead of going into town just because of how lovely it was. Especially with the tennis court and bocce ball, we were never bored. 10/10, so sad I don't live there.

We spent a long weekend here for my husband's 60th Birthday with our favorite people. We could not have been more pleased! The pictures only give you a hint of what is to come. The home is well appointed and has everything you might need. We cooked two great dinners and weren't lacking a thing! The home is very spacious but let me tell you....You will want to be outside! The five acres have been masterfully thought out (somewhere along the line) and it is welcoming, warm, inviting and begs you to come explore! From the winding drive, stone knee-high walls, rows and rows of grape vines, olive groves, wild turkeys, winding pathways....it pulls you. You have to play some Bocce Ball. If you don't know how...Google it! It is for everyone. AND....walk up the hill to the single chair and take a seat for a bit. That is the best view. I wish I could post it. We will be back, that is certain!

The hosts were very helpful and the house had everything we needed. We played tennis and bocce and spent a lot of time on the large deck overlooking the valley.

Beautiful Hidden Gem
This property was definitely one of kind and we were very grateful to have the experience. The amenities were perfect from the nice bedrooms and bathrooms with beautiful lines to the SPECTACULAR views of the sunset and moonset (yes, that is a thing here at 3:00 in the morning). We had fun playing tennis at night on the super cool tennis court on property and cornhole in the mornings. Even though it was a bit of a drive to get to the property itself, it was a gorgeous drive with deer in the fields along the way, truly a treat. We would love to stay here again on our next trip to Penngrove!

The views from everywhere you turn are stunning - the bocce court, tennis court, deck, and the bedrooms. The photos online (or what we took with our phones!) just don’t do it justice.
The kitchen was also great and well-stocked with pots and pans and everything we’d need for a big Thanksgiving meal. We also used the pizza oven one night and had cocktails on the back patio which was amazing, too.
There’s tons of space - we never felt cramped inside or out.
Chelsea and her hubs were awesome. Great hosts and communicators. You can tell how much love they put into the place.

Gorgeous house, amazing stay
This house is absolutely gorgeous. Situated on a vineyard with the most amazing sunset you can see from inside the house, the deck, and anywhere on the vineyard, which guests have access to. The hosts were incredibly gracious and extremely communicative. The whole check in and check out process was seamless, and the hosts were kind enough to welcome us with a bottle of wine. This place is also extremely reasonably priced for the great value. I would absolutely stay again.

Beautiful retreat
This property was absolutely stunning. The view is second to none. The house is well kept and has everything you could need for a visit to wine country. Once we returned from the wineries each day, we didn't want to leave. It is a special place and we hope to return soon.

We visited several different wine areas during the week as well as Point Reyes and Muir Woods. But the most awesome thing was being able to relax and enjoy the stunning view from the mountain ridge. A few friends, a homemade meal, a glass of wine and THAT VIEW. just “wow!”Thank you, Robert, for welcoming us to Vista Ridge. It’s a vacation we will always cherish.

What an amazing stay!!!
This home made our trip amazing. We were traveling to California for our son’s 30th birthday. First pebble beach. Then wine country. We wanted every thing to be special and it couldn’t have been better!!!

Beautiful views and unforgettable memories!
This property is nothing short of amazing. I selected Vista Ridge for the views, patio, and style of the home, and it did not disappoint. This home is a true wine country retreat. We spent each morning drinking coffee overlooking the vineyards, followed by a walk through the rows of grapes and groves of olive and oak trees. The sunsets are absolute magic too! Also, Robert is a kind and attentive host. He values his guests’ vacation and creates the best experience possible. We would love to return someday! I highly, highly recommend this home!

Loved the beautiful property. Well appointed and very comfortable. So quiet .
Lots of indoor and outdoor space to enjoy. Amazing views. Very nice owners who made themselves readily available. Highly recommend this place especially if you have time to spend just staying home for a day. We loved playing bocce ball and cooking in the well stocked kitchen.

Slice of heaven ~
We have stayed in Napa and in Sonoma several times and this place is simply a slice of heaven. Property is spotless, home is beautiful, you're close to everything. Owners are caring and responsive, they totally get it.

Perfect Sonoma Escape
This was the perfect property for our group of 3 couples looking for a relaxing wine country getaway.
After reading past reviews I was fairly confident that we had found the right place for us but only after staying do I fully appreciate how special of a place this is - the view alone would be enough to earn this property a 5 star review.
However, Vista Ridge is more than that. The house itself is thoughtfully designed and includes every amenity that you could want (wood and gas fireplace, TVs, portable sound system, top-of-the-line appliances...the list goes on). But what really impresses is just how comfortable the place feels. From the moment you walk in, you just feel at home.
Robert is an amazing host whose passion for his home shows at every corner. We consider ourselves lucky that he offered to share it with us for a few days and make for a truly unforgettable experience.

Wonderful time in Sonoma - great place to celebrate!
We recently stayed at the Vista Ridge Vineyard Estate to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday with our family. We loved everything about the home and the property, and it was a perfect way to celebrate!
Everything that we needed was on the top of this mountain - beautiful views, fun things to do as group (we particularly enjoyed the games of Bocce ball that brought out the competitive juices of the birthday girl), several great spots throughout the house to hang out or sneak away for private moments, and a nice kitchen for cooking and enjoying wonderful family meals.
Prior to our visit, I had read a few reviews of guests who said they decided to cancel their day winery trips so that they could stay and enjoy the property, and I now see why! When we did venture out for our pre-planned activities, the location of Vista Ridge fit our needs perfectly - the drive up and down the mountain was a treat (great terrain and views) and we were an easy drive to shopping, dining, wineries, a zip-lining adventure, and Bodega Bay.
Robert was also a wonderful host -- with the unfortunate fires in Paradise impacting so much in northern California, we reached out to him many times to get his guidance on whether we should cancel the trip (which we had been planning for a year) or push on. He was completely honest about the fire's impact in the Sonoma area and flexible about whatever we needed to do. In the end, we decided to make the trip -- and we are extremely happy we did.

Perfect for couples wanting to get away from it all. Staying here was truly the highlight of our visit to wine country. The views are spectacular from every room in this beautiful home! We especially appreciated all of the special spots to sit outside and take it all in. This home has comfortable bedrooms, a well-appointed kitchen and lots of privacy. We didn't want to leave! The sunsets are spectacular, whether from the family room, the deck or the bocce court. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay a pleasurable one!

Highly recommend this house! The house itself provides great comfort and plenty of space for 3 adult couples. The only thing better than the house, are the amazing views in the morning and at sunset! The house is set back in a vineyard and is very quiet and relaxing. Robert was very communicative and easy to coordinate with. We will definitely be back!
