Good old fashioned hotel. Easy to get to all the places of interest.
No biscuits in the room.

De sfeer in het hotel en het vriendelijke personeel
Geluid aan de achterkant van het hotel.
Maar ja, dat hoort er bij als je midden in de stad zit.
En het was wat te warm op de kamer.

As a solo traveler I always note the warmth of welcome and helpfulness being on my own. I felt the staff were great ambassadors for the hotel, cairn group and city....bravo.

Location. Staff were friendly.
Booked hotel for pool. Was not told before hand it was closed until arrival. We based our stay solely on this, no emails sent to say about it. Bed very uncomfortable. Place is very dated and in dire need of refurbishment. Breakfast poor quality. Would definitely not stay again or recommend. It's also really noisy at night with people slamming doors at all hours and shouting and running up and down corridor.

They very kindly stored our bikes.
Room was boiling hot and no AC.

so clean and spacious felt super cosy
our room was based on a main road so there was a lot of noise at night but the hotel can’t control that so it’s ok
8.0
Location and room size and cleanliness
I think they need to organise breakfast better in the sense that you need somewhere to put your plate down to put food on it. The current situation of holing the plate and lifting lids and trying to use tongs isn’t great

Everything about the property was brilliant we had time at the spa with the kids and was brilliant!
Nothing would definitely return

This is a classic station hotel with a grand entrance.
The rooms were miles away along a rabbit warren of musty and unkempt corridors with endless stairs. The rooms were fine but old and well past their best. The whole place smelled a bit.

Breakfast was a little cold but it was later in the morning..09.45.
Tea pot for one was yuck…very weak tasteless tea..I’m a Yorkshire lass & like a good strong cup of tea !
Location was fab & the decor inside the hotel was sublime
Nothing really …was a great stay overall

Really excellent location, very close to cathedral, castle and views of the bridge...and very close to the station (<5 mins walk). Room good size, comfortable bed, clean bathroom, tea/coffee making facilities (and many milk capsules in the fridge - why don't other hotels do this?!), friendly staff, very good restaurant with excellent food/drinks, very reasonable price given location/facilities.
No bottles of water provided in room. Room facing street and quite noisy (not sure if there is double glazing or not).

The building itself is beautiful
Cracked sink in the bathroom

I was only there for one night and the hotel was good for that. It's a fabulous old building, exactly as a station hotel should be. The restaurant provided a good evening meal with a nice bar, and nice breakfast. Very suitable for an elderly lady on her own.
My one quibble was the poor bedroom lighting.

Great location, staff were all friendly and the hotel room was lovely and clean and a great size
Very confusing layout to find hotel rooms

I have stayed here before love the location and it’s a beautiful hotel with a lovely entrance with Chandelier and the small double room is perfect for me. Nice quiet room at the back of the building.
I had a problem with the heating as it was far too hot and even when you turned it down it stayed hot because of the pipes running through, it was boiling had to get somebody from Reception to come up and wedge the window open as that wouldn’t move for me finally then slept once I had some air in the room.

Architecture, location, cleanliness, excellent services and staff. Very good food, friendly and helpful employees. Congratulations!
The noise from the front-facing room. I was lucky to have had my room swapped with a rear-facing one, which I fully enjoyed.

Good location, clean, pleasant restaurant and public areas.
Beds were a bit squeaky and old.

Room was lovely beds very comfortable, maybe hot chocolate in room as my daughter doesn't drink tea or coffee
The noise from other rooms and outside from early morning at 430am.

Breakfast was excellent. Location was noisy during the early hours but if you book a city centre hotel you have to expect it really. Very easy to walk to places of interest from here.
My sons room had a leak in the ceiling. A bucket and towel had been left in his room. He had to go and ask to be moved as the leak got worse. I really think an apology note should have been left in his room asking him to go to reception and they would relocate him. I really don’t think he should have had to ask to be moved. Not good PR.

We got to breakfast late so everything was finishing up but the staff were great and the food was ok - I would have liked food a bit fresher but do understand we were at the end of the sitting. The actual hotel itself (staircase, landings etc) are fabulous
The room was smaller than expected and very "dated". The bath and sink looked old and the bed was far too soft and uncomfortable. My "view" was a brick wall a few feet away and I had to keep the window open to get some circulation....pretty disappointing all round really

I like every part of my stay. The room was great, the food in the restaurant/ bar was out of this world, Great food 3 courses for just £20.. amazing value.
The staff are so friendly & can't do anoth to make you stay satisfied .
The spa is an added bonus to guess which is free to people staying at the hotel..
The management team is really amazing..
The only thing I don't like is having to leave. Until my next trip, but to you guys at the Royal Station Hotel just keep on doing the great jobs your doing...

The hotel is perfectly located for exploring Newcastle. The room was spacious and the bathroom was ok. It’s all a bit dated. The breakfast was pretty good with plenty of choice!
The hotel didn’t have our booking so we had to wait whilst they sorted it out, which to be fair they did pretty efficiently!
The floor in the bedroom was pretty dirty, we like to do some stretching in the morning and actually lying on the floor was pretty grim!
The restaurant manager was particularly stern with several guests. We appreciate that it was a busy morning but I think he needs a bit of customer care training! I have always worked in hospitality and I was always trained to be accommodating and pleasant to customers where he just came across as unfriendly, very un professional and rude!
Also be prepared that if you order a cappuccino- the staff actually come and take payment whilst you are eating your breakfast - never experienced that before - they could at least wait until you have finished eating! Reception never asked me if I wanted to leave a credit card for extras and I was pretty shocked when they made us pay for the coffee whilst eating!

Location is excellent
Bed up against the wall! We are both in need of the bathroom during the night which meant a very disturbing nights sleep for us both also bed size small!

Location
The "small double" rom we booked was incredibly small. The bed was butted against the wall so it would fit in the room, which meant I had to climb over my wife to get into bed. There was an obstruction in the wall behind the bed, so the head of the bed was 20cm from the wall. As there was no headboard, the pillows kept falling down the gap !

location room was a good size clean and comfortable
quite dated most of staff could not give eye contact especially at breakfast not very friendly. receptionists very friendly and helpful. only being able to have one coffee with breakfast

The location, the stylish building, the cost of the ensuite room.
The £15 payment for parking.

the location was good staff were very friendly
there was no actual room light in our room just the tv, lamp and mirror light which made the room quite dark on a night and made it difficult to get ready, the room was like a sauna making it difficult to sleep, we could heat the people in the room next door most of the night and we tried the leisure facilities when we got there there was no one there we had to get our own towels and figure out where to go out selves, no footwear provided so had to walk to the pool in bare feet, the pool was freezing, no chairs to sit and when we tried the jacuzzi we had to leave after 10m as the chlorine in the water was so strong it was creating foam, im a swimmer so i am used to chlorine and my eyes stinging but the amount in this jacuzzi wasn’t normal we couldn’t see after 5m and had to leave, we were also speaking to other guests in the hotel that booked the same time as we did and paid a lot less, overall it was quite disappointing as this was a gift for valentine’s for my partner the only positive i have is the staff and the door men inside the hotel.
