The breakfast was amazing the hotel is beautiful
I felt the room was dated and the bed was the most uncomfortablest bed I’ve ever slept on it was like sleeping on concrete

Had a wonderful stay at The Vermont Hotel for our anniversary. The hotel was lovely, staff were friendly and attentive, and the location was perfect. It's very quiet, but restaurants and bars are nearby and it's a 10 minute walk to the centre of town. Our room was spacious and had a view of the castle. Breakfast was good, having the option of a buffet or ordering off the menu, and we managed to get free parking at the hotel. Great value for money for the luxury and service received. The rooftop bar was stunning.
Everything was great. We had no issues at all, so much so we extended our stay by an extra day.

Lovely building. Staff were attentive but not pushy
Bedroom too hot

Location, bar and restaurant
Rooms are outdated, small, shower in the bathtub. Very sober, carpet in the room not that hygienic. And I was in a suite.

Can't fault the room or facilities, clean, good size, comfortable
Can fault the positioning of room.Put us on 11th floor, right below the rooftop bar that pounded out music till 1am and you can hear every word. Why this floor is been used for guests when you have this racket going on is beyond me and you can't tell me management don't know how loud it is.I dread to thing what it would be like for kids on that floor For this reason my hotel experience score is only two and because of this I'll not be returning to the hotel.

Great views, ideal location for the quayside and restaurant/bars
quaint hotel , clean and tidy.
Dated in style and layout,
door card was inactive twice which was annoying,
doors are loud when closed.
7.0
Location and the size of the room
There was no hot water for a shower and the water was coming out of the joins of the pipe work

Car valet on arrival. Room was beautiful and clean with a stocked mini bar.
Staff where very cold and a little unwelcoming. When we arrived, the receptionist seemed to be having a dispute with another customer and I feel that negatively carried through when it came to our time to check in.

Nothing I can think of.

Location was very good
Breakfast was good plenty choice.
The cooked breakfast was only slightly warm
It could have been kept hot while being kept under cover.
It is kept warm with little candle like warmers

Lovely room, and the lift was right there just inside the door, i hate dragging cases along lobbies n landings! we swerved the £15 brekky and walked down the 100 steps, across the forecourt, to the quayside, lots of breakfast options along the quayside if its nice weather but avoid 'Spoons' yuk..
The car park attendant was a proper chap, offering to drive our modest saloon to a nearby car park, i felt like a Hollywood Movie star, alas, we got it parked right outside the door!
we only stayed for the night, couldn't fault it...

Good location and easy parking
Was not told prior to our stay that a wedding was on with loud music playing until 1am. Asked reception when the music would stop and was offered some ear plugs!

Lovely to be greeted by the concierge , staff all very pleasant.
Nothing about the property. However there was a fire alarm going off into the rooms at 8am 3x by mistake ! This wasn’t nice to wake up to.

Location was excellent. Big old hotel but nicely presently. Lovely comfortable big rooms, bar and restaurant were excellent.
Wifi in the rooms was weak. No toiletries in the bathroom. Just soap dispensers.

Room position overlooking the railway and associated noise.

Location, traditional decor, comfortable
5.0
The hotel is located close to the centre and rooms are comfortable.
I booked the hotel because of the information about free parking. The truth is that this quite big hotel possesses only several parking places and guests are required to park on the street what costs £1,7 per hour. The concierge was eager to help but we still had to park on the street. The place is not worth of the price, and I won’t stay there again due to the misleading description. Additionally, the hotel required a £25 deposit for the minibar and potential damages…

- location is great
- gym facilities were good
- bar area was a nice, calming atmosphere
- room was spacious
Unfortunately, I felt on several occasions their was no genuine welcoming from staff or friendliness. Even on check out, we were not asked how our stay was, did we enjoy it? Basic customer service. Happy to take additional payment but no conversation or smile whatsoever.
Considering it is a 4 star hotel it genuinely does not live up to the standard on customer service, which is a real shame.
Our key card for the room stopped working several times during our 5 day stay. We were told not to have the card near other cards or phones, which we made sure not to do. Which still did not make a difference and it continued to not work, one day it stopped working twice within the space of 2 hours. On only one occasion of the several, did a member of the Reception staff apologise for the inconvenience, which we appreciated and I made known she was the only one to apologise- again basic customer service and politeness.
We stayed in a Junior Suite which was spacious and clean but definitely needs updating on decor.
An added touch would be nice to have a vanity kit, lotions etc and cupboards in the bathroom.
The car park is tiny for city center hotel. If on occasions throughout our stay we arrived back late and there was no car park space, we had to park and pay for a ticket for 8am for the next day. I find this ridiculous considering the amount you pay for the hotel and you then have to pay for a ‘pay and display’ ticket.
Overall, it was not a cheap stay and definitely didn’t feel as though we received any decent customer service- barely even a smile.
