It was a bit tired and not as clean in the room as the price would suggest

The hotel has been kept as a large country house with lounges, sofas and comfy chairs, and fantastic views across Ullswater.
The staff were all very friendly and efficient.
The rooms were large and well appointed.
We loved our whole visit.

Breakfast & dinner were O.K. but gave the impression they had been prepared by an accountant, as to quantity.
The room was tired as were much of the public areas, that were seen.
The exit from the hotel onto the road has very poor visibility & in my view is extremely dangerous.
