Decor was stunning, so tastefully done. View was great and it was so clean and peaceful, yet only minutes from town.

We can not talk highly enough about Michelle's Place. It is simply gorgeous. Situated close to Matakana but in the country. Amazing views. The accommodation itself is very tasteful and the most comfortable bed we slept on for our whole two week trip. If it wasn't so far from home for us I am sure we would become regulars!!

Great location to explore area. Beautifully furnished and super comfy.

Stunningly appointed with beautiful wallpapers and an impressive chandelier. Peaceful and tranquil. Luxurious linens and a great outdoor area with claw foot bath. Unfortunately due to the weather we weren’t able to experience or appreciate the outdoors as much but this definitely did not detract from the opulence inside.

Lovely, comfortable accommodation with gorgeous decor and nice views of the countryside. Peaceful location. Highly recommend.

There was no milk provided for the complimentary tea which is usual for all accommodations we have visited. We found the bed linen scratchy and too warm although the mattress was comfortable.

I liked the location and presentation of the accommodation.The outside bath was a pleasant surprise and we used it most evenings.

There was no cooling ,AC or a fan. The weather was very hot and the room became very hot and stuffy.We were only able to open the door for most of the time as the side windows blew closed with the wind, so no through breeze.As it was very wet we would have liked some towelling mats for the front and back doors to wipe and dry our feet/shoes on.There was no broom to sweep out what we brought in on our feet which was a shame as trying to keep the place clean was really hard.A closed rubbish bin for outside would have been good as we had some smelly rubbish hanging around. We never saw anyone to talk to so weren’t able to ask what we should do with this rubbish.

Recently my wife and I decided to have a winter break in Matakana. After reading wonderful reviews on Booking.com, we booked 3 nights at this property. It was a nice location. However on making the bed we noticed that the bed linen was very stained. We contacted owner Gavin to discuss the issue. When he eventually called us he took no action to replace the linen. Gavin had no explanation and didn’t offer an apology. We won’t stay there again.

Loved the location, amenities and overall ambience of the property.

A suggestion - a small one at that - it is advertised as a luxurious stay and there was no shampoo, conditioner, soap for the shower. We were fine as we had brought some of our own but some people might not have this available. We have stayed in a lot of places and this is the first time we didn't have these available to us. A small suggestion.
