Very attractive from the outside and very well maintained. The bedrooms had all been recently refurbished as well. Lovely beer garden to sit and have a drink as the weather was so nice while we were there, downside was the road noise as it was so near the A1 but amazingly we soon got used to it. The big bonus is the staff - they were so friendly and just couldn’t do enough for you. They are a big asset to the hotel. The food was excellent as well but would say the portions are huge, would have liked the choice of a half portion.
Meal portions were too big. Noise from the very busy road. Also think a light such as a table lamp would have been useful on the desk near the mirror for doing hair etc. I had to unplug bedside lamp and take it over there as it was too dark.

The room was lovely and clean and had everything we required. The location was also really nice. We have stayed here before several times but not recently.
I found some of the staff not as friendly and welcoming as in previous visits. Unfortunately we were not made to feel welcome to assisted when asked for information.
