This is one of the best accommodation experiences I have ever had, as an avid traveller that's no mean feat. A beautiful apartment very tastefully decorated in a fantastic location. I would highly recommend and I would definitely stay here again.

Nothing It was perfect!

We were surprised at the size of the rooms. Everything was neat and clean. Very calmng wonderful place.

Just know you can't park in front of the house between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. without purchasing a ticket from a parking machine about 50 yards from house. Sign to do so is hidden in trees. Ticket cost 35 American dollars.

Charming and cozy flat that is a stone’s throw away from the famous church of Hallgrimur and a few blocks away from the city center. The area is a pretty quiet residential neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of the city center

It is not mentioned that the flat is essentially in the basement of a house. There is barely any acoustic insulation which allows you to hear all the noise coming from above including footsteps and even talking. A very important thing to note is the smell emanating from the bathroom. It is a very strong smell not the faint of heart. The best way to describe it would be a mix of sewers, feces and urine radiating throughout the entire flat, making it very difficult to breathe indoors. All in all, the price is too expensive for the value of the flat.

The apartment is in a fantastic location (short walk to city centre, coast, and very close to bus stations for airport/trips). Stylish and tastefully decorated, incredibly comfortable bed, particularly loved the bathroom with under floor heating and wet room style rainfall shower. The kitchen was well stocked with practical amenities (dishwasher, dishwasher tablets, tea towels, cleaning stuff, pots, pans, cutlery, crockery etc) and good quality towels were provided. Warm and cosy for an October holiday and unbeatable price for Reykjavik given the location and standard of the apartment. Our host was excellent too, gave us privacy (as we wanted when booking an apartment rather than a hotel) but was very responsive to messages when we had questions. We would 100% stay here again if returning to Reykjavik.

There was nothing we didn't like although some minor suggestions for improvement would be to have a brief information pack in the apartment to explain facilities (would just save the host answering some questions), provide some guide books for guests to use, and to provide a small amount of washing powder/tablets for washing clothes as it is quite expensive to buy especially when using for just one washload (we didn't have room in our luggage to take it back with us for use at home). One final suggestion would be to have a visitor book so guests could write some brief notes about their experiences both at the apartment and in Iceland - a lot of UK cottage rentals do this and we really like that as they often include hints and tips from people's experiences that aren't necessarily included in guide books or are easy to find on the internet.

The flat was lovely, very comfortable and very nicely decorated.

Our overall experience with the owner was BAD. Considering the premium price we paid, we were expecting premium service. What a disappointment. When we arrived, there were dirty dishes in the drawer and the oven tray was filthy. The electric hotplate was out of order. A single backup hotplate was available which is not convenient to cook a proper meal. No tea towel, had to ask for one and owner’s reply was that he was going to put one in the flat. He also mentioned that there was a dishwasher, were we supposed to dry our dishes and surfaces with the dishwasher? No heatglove. No extra toilet paper roll. Had to ask for one. No welcome/ instruction booklet Convertible sofa not so comfortable. Whenever I sent owner a message, his replies were very blunt. No hello, no apologies for inconvenience. On our last night, there was noise (loud music and heavy footsteps in staircase) above the flat, in the owner's house at 10.30pm. As we were getting up at 5am to catch our flight, I sent him a message letting him know our need to rest and asked him to make sure sound level stayed decent. Owner's reply was that noise didn't come from his house (quite surprising, as there were no houses/buildings nearby), and that if I was sensitive to noise, I should use earplugs! How rude! I do not recommend this owner. Word to the owner: if you do not wish to be disturbed, just do not rent your place.

Very good location, luxurious and beautiful apartment.

We booked few days before arrival, the owner responded to our question after 3 days, on day od arrival, we were little nervous about that. Otherwise everything was excellent!
